Rome petrol station explosion injures 25, damages buildings and vehicles

An explosion at a petrol station in Rome's southeast injured at least 25 people on Friday. The incident was caused by a technical fault during refuelling.

00:00At least 21 people have been injured in an explosion at a petrol station in Rome on Friday, according to reports.
00:11None of the injured, which include eight police officers, a firefighter and an emergency operator, are in serious condition.
00:19But a few suffered from minor burns and shattered glass from the explosion.
00:24The fire brigade said the accident was caused by a technical fault during refueling.
00:34Rome's mayor Roberto Guartieri said two chain explosions followed after firefighters arrived,
00:41with the shockwave causing damage to surrounding buildings and vehicles catching fire.
00:47Residents said the explosion was so strong it felt like an earthquake and the blast was heard in other parts of the city.
