Transcript
00:00It's going to be made of the potential incomings this summer,
00:02but there's no doubt going to be outgoings.
00:04You know, there was last summer.
00:06Players went for a fee.
00:08There's a lot of players who are out of contract next summer
00:10who would go for free.
00:12There's players who are out of sorts, you know, out of favour,
00:14not being used, well, haven't been used the whole time
00:16they've been at Albion.
00:18Just give us a flavour of a couple of Albion players
00:21you think might not be around by the end of the summer.
00:25Yeah, I mean, a previous video touched on a couple.
00:28We just, I think, worth expanding on Jed Wallace,
00:33the club captain who, yeah, it's a pretty obvious one, isn't it?
00:37It's been tough for him for 18 months now.
00:38He hasn't had the starts.
00:40He's a, you know, he's a long-serving,
00:43well-respected member of the squad, a big earner as well
00:47because of the contract he came in on from Millwall three years ago.
00:51I just think that's one where, you know,
00:53it suits potentially all parties if something's done.
00:56And, you know, Jed, I'm sure at his age, you know,
00:59he's a cracking guy, proper captain, leader,
01:01will want to play regular football, I'm sure.
01:03Now, obviously, it will take suitable interest
01:06and suitable figures and approach and finances
01:09for that to go through.
01:11So, there's one.
01:12Again, Johnny, I know you touched on a piece.
01:14You go, you look at fringe players like a Frobata,
01:17Gianluca Frobata, the left-back,
01:19or a Devante Cole in forward areas, still under contract.
01:22You know, these are lads that just did not have
01:24a slightest look in last season, did they,
01:27in their debut campaigns?
01:28So, you know, there will be low earners.
01:31They won't, you know, they won't be costing the club too much.
01:35However, you just feel if Alvin can move them on,
01:39you can get better in.
01:40You don't want, it's all well and good saying they're low earners,
01:43but you don't want squad players who aren't going to come on
01:44and affect things.
01:45Or in, you know, Frobata's case,
01:46barely make the bench or Cole's case.
01:48So, you know, if you are spending it on,
01:50you still try and do it successfully on players
01:52that can impact the pitch, in my opinion, anyway.
01:55So, that's three.
01:56Again, I know in a previous video,
01:58I touched on Tom Fellows.
02:00He's at the other end of the scale.
02:01So, a Cole on Frobata, isn't he?
02:02He's, you know, the club's great asset, really,
02:04as an academy graduate.
02:07You could say a golden egg, really, in terms of PSR,
02:10in terms of pure profit for money that would potentially
02:13eventually come in for Fellows.
02:15We know there's been interest in him before,
02:17Everton, Southampton.
02:18I'd be surprised if real interest didn't come in for Fellows
02:21after the season he's had.
02:22You know, the league-leading assists,
02:26England under-21 reckoning, isn't he?
02:29One of, if not the better wingers in this division.
02:33And he will be the one that would take serious replacing,
02:35isn't he?
02:36You know, that's the first team he would really,
02:38you know, Albion would suffer without,
02:40but would have, would be well-priced to use the money
02:44to replace him, you would feel.
02:47In terms of impressive players currently at the club
02:50who've perhaps done enough to be spotted,
02:52you look at Heggen, don't you?
02:54Torbjorn Heggen, the double award-winning player of the year.
02:59He, to me, looks like the kind of player
03:01that clubs above or, you know,
03:04clubs that are better off at the moment
03:06could well be interested in.
03:07You know, it wouldn't cost them.
03:09I was going to say it wouldn't cost them much
03:11to get Heggen out of Albion.
03:12Now, I don't mean Albion would consider selling him
03:14for a low fee, but I mean relative to potential clubs above,
03:19it would be a sort of low-cost one.
03:21And Heggen looks like he's got another gear to me to go.
03:24I hope I'm wrong in that case, but look, let's see.
03:29So there's sort of a handful there.
03:30A couple who are, I think, Albion would be very happy to,
03:33you know, your squad players who haven't been affecting things
03:35to move on.
03:36A couple of the real star assets, really,
03:38who I suppose Albion would ideally want at the club,
03:40but look, the business is the business, isn't it?
03:43And, you know, that's how that goes.
03:46You never quite know, do you?
03:50There are players, again, in the previous video,
03:52I mentioned DK and Madger.
03:54You mentioned players in the last year of the contracts.
03:56They're two.
03:57Alex Mowat's another.
03:58You know, he's either 30 or approaching 30.
04:01Quite interesting, you know, to me,
04:04whether the likes of these and Madger, you know,
04:07certainly the older ones when you look at a Mowat
04:10or a Furlong or a Bartley, you know,
04:12whether interest comes through and it's solid enough
04:14and I suppose a value, enough value,
04:17enough for the club to consider.
04:19I mentioned another video we did about the head coach
04:22and, you know, this is a fresh start for the club,
04:27really, this summer.
04:28You know, Bill calls, yes, it's their second appointment,
04:30but we know what happened with the first.
04:32The first fell away from the way they wanted to go.
04:35It feels like this is a start for them.
04:37That doesn't mean they can't be judged on
04:39the Tony Mulberry move, by the way.
04:41They are judged on it and it failed.
04:43But this is, so this is a banker for them.
04:46This is one that, you know,
04:47the hierarchy would want to work, need to work.
04:49So I'm pretty sure whoever comes in,
04:51you know, be it Ryan Mason or whoever,
04:53the owners will give the tools to that person,
04:56I think, to succeed.
04:57And if that means listening to offers,
04:59moving players on that, you know,
05:01whoever the new head coach doesn't quite fancy,
05:03then I, you know,
05:04I would not be surprised at all to see that happen.
05:05I, you know,
05:07I don't know.
05:08I don't know.
05:09I don't know.
05:10I don't know.
05:11You know,
05:11you're looking at them.
