00:00You know, when managers come in and talk about style of play,
00:01and Albion fans will know, you know, I hate buzzwords in football,
00:05you know, identity, you know, maybe not style,
00:10but, you know, everyone's got to have a,
00:12you've either got to play an ultimate pass in football.
00:14No one these days comes out and says,
00:16yeah, we're going to play kick and rush, get it, boot it,
00:18you know, play off the front man.
00:20Everyone's got to play this, you know, perfect way of playing.
00:23And he kind of cut through all that yesterday by saying,
00:25look, everyone wants to play perfect football,
00:27but sometimes you can't.
00:28And the only thing that matters at the end of the day is winning games.
00:32That's what is interesting, creating a team that can win games.
00:35Now, don't get me wrong.
00:37Fans don't want to see real boring, turgid football.
00:41You know, I know fans tap back to the days of Puglis, et cetera.
00:44You know, it works at times, but it is quite boring.
00:47But it has, it didn't put the,
00:48it would have been easy for him to come out and say,
00:50yes, they were going to play this free-flowing, attacking football.
00:52You know, we're going to try pop teams off the park,
00:55do this, this and this.
00:56But above all, and he's absolutely right,
00:58and it gets lost in translation with a lot of managers these days.
01:01He is just solely focused on winning,
01:04creating a team that can win football.
01:06And playing good football, for me, is a by-product of that.
