00:00Here's, let's get Maurice out of the way.
00:02Of course, Nosek took that penalty in overtime,
00:04shot the puck over the boards that allowed the Oilers
00:06to get a late in the overtime power play that, of course, they put away.
00:11Here's Paul Maurice.
00:12Don't worry about it, man.
00:13Tough break for Thomas.
00:15Ends up being critical.
00:16As a coach, what do you say to him in a moment like that?
00:20Just remind him after the game of being down 0-2 to Toronto
00:24and that line came in and changed everything for us
00:27and how we're not here without Thomas Nosek.
00:29It's a tough break, so we'll just make sure he doesn't eat alone tonight.
00:34He's got lots of people sitting at his table
00:35and reminding him how good he's been to us.
00:38Eat alone in the present.
00:38And it's going to be tough when he's going to eat that one for a day,
00:40but he's, from his penalty kill to, again,
00:43that line really changed the flow of that Toronto series.
00:46Just we'll remind him about a whole bunch of times before the puck drops.
00:51Yeah, listen, it is what it is.
00:54You know, I actually, I'm going to just say it, I hate that penalty.
00:58I think it's past its prime.
01:03I really do.
01:05I don't, do you really believe, like, so he intentionally wanted to shoot it
01:10into the crowd to cool things off?
01:13No way.
01:14So there's just no way.
01:16So it was just a mistake.
01:18And I don't believe, you know, kind of a mistake in the moment,
01:23in the heat of passion in a game that close,
01:26I don't believe that a mistake, Mike, should be a penalty.
01:30I think that, you know, if you do it on purpose, fair enough.
01:35But they'll never be able to differentiate the two,
01:38so they still call it a penalty in the NHL.
01:40Do you believe that should be a penalty?
01:41Puck goes into the crowd.
01:43They give him a power play.
01:44They win the game.
01:45Do you believe in that, or do you think it's legit?
01:48I don't believe in it.
01:50I don't love it.
01:53I feel like it's one of those rules in hockey that it was originally intended
01:59for one thing, and that's obviously, you know,
02:02guys that are trapped in their zone, and it's a power play.
02:06They're a man down, and they're trying to get rid of it,
02:08and some guys would purposely throw it over the ring, you know,
02:11just to end the play, you know, stop everything.
02:13So, I get why they put it in, but there's, like, so much gray area
02:18where you get a play like that where it's like, you know, come on.
02:21Like, what?
02:22You know, it's like the offside, right?
02:25It's like the offside stuff with taking the goals back for offsides.
02:29There are times when it's completely – you understand why it's there,
02:33and then there's other times where it's like a quarter of a skate blade,
02:37and the goal happens two minutes later, and they go all the way back to –
02:41like, it's just – it sucks that the rules are in there for that.
02:45Would you see it being valid to just make it an icing?
02:50You still have to face off right next to your goalie danger.
02:54I think it should be icing in your own end.
02:57Yeah.
02:58It's hard.
02:59Like, I don't want to write it – put any more lines on the ice,
03:02but, like, I feel like –
03:03They lost because of it.
03:05You know what I mean?
03:06Like, it's simple as that.
03:07Yeah, exactly.
03:08They absolutely lost the game.
03:10That's a cheap way to lose, in my opinion.
03:12I think it should be icing.
03:13But it's never going to change because they don't – they don't do that.
03:16They don't make changes.
03:17No.
03:18No, they do.
03:19They never do that.
03:20The Panthers are the first team in NHL history to score 50-plus road goals
03:26in a single playoff.
03:28They've scored 50-plus goals on the road.
03:30Remember, they had a lot of games in this playoffs where they –
03:32You think they'll win game two on the road because they're so good
03:35because they should have won game one and didn't.
03:38I won't be surprised at all if they win game two.
03:40I have thought since the jump that this was going to be a punch and punch back.
