02:29on fire they were there to bring attention to the hostages still being held by hamas tonight here the

02:34new charges 16 counts of attempted murder and a federal hate crime charge this was the chaotic

02:39scene after the suspect tossed fiery molotov cocktails authorities say he yelled free palestine

02:44and tonight here these new images of the moment and they are disturbing federal authorities revealing

02:48late today there were 12 victims from 52 to 88 years old one of them a holocaust survivor the suspect

02:55remained at the scene appearing to hold an unused firebomb in each hand authorities found 16 more molotov

03:01cocktails ready to be thrown after the arrest tonight authorities say he had planned the attack

03:05for more than a year waiting for his daughter to graduate first again 12 people injured authorities

03:10have said two in critical condition what authorities say the suspect confessed to what he allegedly told

03:53authorities say the suspect dressed as a gardener to avoid looking suspicious sunday when he yelled

04:00free palestine and tossed two molotov cocktails into a crowd peacefully marching

04:05tonight authorities raising the number of victims now 12 people injured some critically burned

04:13they range in age from 52 to 88 years old including officials say a holocaust survivor

04:20salomon apprehended at the scene it's panic right away trying to get off the fire you're trying to

04:28help your friends get out of the fire try to put down the fire i mean people are literally on fire

04:33they're literally on fire i don't know if i can express it enough and tonight authorities say the

04:38suspect confessed saying he had been planning this for a year waiting until after his daughter

04:42graduated high school to conduct the attack there were 16 unused molotov cocktails within arm's reach of

04:49the subject at the time of his rest authorities saying the suspect allegedly learned how to make them

04:55on youtube also finding a backpack weed sprayer filled with gasoline officials say he specifically

05:01targeted the zionist group that had gathered in boulder after learning about the group from an online

05:06search and when he was interviewed about the attack he said he wanted them all to die he had no regrets

05:13and he would go back and do it again the fbi saying he drove to boulder from this home in colorado

05:19springs where he lived with his wife and five children working as an uber driver stopping for

05:24gasoline on the way authorities searching that home overnight if we uncover evidence that others knew

05:30of this attack or supported the subject in this attack rest assured that we will aggressively move to

05:36hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law officials tonight say the suspect was born in egypt

05:42and lived in kuwait for 17 years before moving to colorado three years ago but dhs says he was in

05:48the country illegally i was able to identify that he had overstayed his visa while he did have a work

05:54authorization permit it did was expired no no it comes just a week after two israeli embassy staffers

06:01were shot and killed outside a jewish museum in washington dc so what would you think back in april

06:07authorities say a man firebombed the home of pennsylvania governor josh shapiro on the first

06:11night of passover back in boulder tonight this community trying to come to grips with this latest

06:17attack now it was a jewish community but it can be any other community we need to condemn any violence

06:32well david two of the 12 victims injured in the attack are still hospitalized tonight they were

06:39airlifted to a denver area burn center both remain in critical condition at last check but both are

07:32russian warplanes including nuclear capable bombers set ablaze estimated to be more than 30 percent

07:40of russia's strategic bombers destroyed the ukrainian drone smuggled into russia in what appears to be

07:48shipping containers with retractable roofs atop trucks watch in this video circulating online

07:55as one of the explosive laden drones lifts off from the container and heads toward its target

08:03ukraine's operation spiderweb kept secret for more than a year the u.s was not given any advanced

08:10notice of the attack but it followed devastating russian attacks on ukraine i asked ukraine's president

08:17about the attacks today do those attacks those drone attacks on russian aircraft change the dynamic

08:25of the war russians are trying to conduct offensive operations on a number of directions and unless they

08:35will stop we will continue the operation and as for now any end to this war looks a long way off

08:44negotiations between russia and ukraine and istanbul today ending quickly and with no breakthroughs

08:51that part of the story not surprising that the talks ended quickly martha with us tonight and spoke

08:55with president zelensky today this was quite an extensive military operation martha the drones concealed in

09:00these makeshift containers going well beyond the front lines lifting up out of the containers and

09:05as you report they're flying to their targets multiple bases deep inside russia exactly david it

09:10was truly remarkable planning to carry out those highly coordinated secret attacks so deep into russia

09:17and the attacks did make a significant dent into russia's military capabilities but so far the russians

09:24have not budged in ceasefire negotiations david martha raddatz with the new reporting from washington

09:34in mount etna roaring back to life tourists seen running in fear americans reportedly among them tonight

09:40as the volcano erupted nearby the toxic gas smoke and ash billowing into the air thousands could be

09:45seen running to safety abc's marcus moore with the images coming in tonight

09:49dramatic new video tonight showing the moment dozens of tourists were forced to flee as mount etna erupted

09:57on the italian island of sicily the skies darkening above them and now reports tonight that some of them

10:04are american europe's tallest active volcano spewing massive columns of toxic gas ash and rock high into

10:13the air listen to the roars as the earth opens up sending rivers of fast moving liquid gas and rock

10:21flowing from deep below a helicopter tour pilot filming this video capturing the fiery spectacle from the

10:27air the view was spectacular was jaw dropping some of the passenger also started crying for the emotion was

11:20reversing her lexus suv into him during a blizzard in january 2022 but others and that police covered it up

11:38officer kelly dever to the stand she was a combative witness i am put on the stand in a murder trial i

11:57station which she later recanted because it was factually incorrect she said mr did you understand

12:03my question yes i did you threatened to charge me with perjury during our phone call prior to the

12:07first trial if i didn't lie on the stand right now i'm telling you i did not see anything factually

12:15the prosecution alleging weaves suv caused these marks on o'keefe's arm but the defense maintaining

12:20that o'keefe was beaten inside a fellow officer's home beaten by a dog and then dragged outside to

12:27die in the snow the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you die i do a forensic pathologist

12:32called by reed's team testifying that the wounds were consistent with a mauling by an animal those

12:38wounds were inflicted as a result of a dog attack and david we're already in the seventh week of this

12:44trial and we're told the defense's case and they have over 90 names on their witness list could easily

12:55now to the warning tonight for millions of americans the canadian wildfires burning out of

12:59control and of course now the smoke over multiple states here in the u.s and where it's now headed

13:03next abc's alex prez with the images and the air quality warning now for billions david those wildfires

13:10in canada prompting a state of emergency there and air alerts here now the massive amounts of smoke

13:17billowing from the fires over the border keeping parts of the upper midwest under smoky skies for days now

13:23authorities issuing air quality alerts across several states here in the upper midwest

13:27the smoke now shifting as far south as georgia and the carolinas but some good news here in

13:32minneapolis thunderstorms are on the way that wind and rain expected to help clear the smoke out of

13:38the area david let's hope it pushes it right out of the way alex thank you in addition of course of

13:41the smoke millions tonight bracing for these severe storms so let's get right to chief meteorologist

13:45ginger zee and ginger back to what alex was talking about this smoke is on the move tonight

13:49yeah this is round three for parts of northern minnesota look at this image we just got in from

13:55just near the canadian border it is really what the type that you can barely see that's ahead of

14:00the cold front which by the way has kicked off severe storms lubbock up through the high plains

14:05even saint cloud minnesota when that cold front moves to the east tomorrow you will see that mixing

14:10with the rain and the thunderstorms but you're also going to see more storms in the afternoon develop

14:15behind that front that's where you could pull down more smoke with the north or northwesterly flow

14:20and infiltrate the skies of minnesota western up of michigan again look ahead of the front to southern

14:25illinois ohio western pa west virginia you could see smoke there and then big area for severe weather

14:35we move on tonight president trump's massive budget bill several republican senators have just arrived

14:39back on the hill tonight and late today what they're now saying about this and the senator who told

14:44constituents we're all going to die after their concerns over medicaid cuts here's mary bruce

14:50tonight senators arriving back at the capitol ready to debate the president's so-called big beautiful

14:55bill but already a handful of republicans enough to tank the bill are voicing serious concerns it's just

15:02not a conservative thing to do and i've told him i can't support the bill republicans worried the bill

15:07is estimated to add 3.8 trillion dollars to the deficit over the next 10 years

15:13it extends trump's 2017 tax cuts and promises to cut federal spending by some 1.5 trillion dollars

15:20but some republicans are concerned about what's on the chopping block including cuts to medicaid more

15:26than 8 million americans could lose their health insurance over a decade in iowa senator joni ernst

15:32sparked outrage when she appeared to dismiss a constituent's concern that people will die

15:37they are not eligible so they will be coming off so people are not well we all are going to die

15:51but ernst is now doubling down mocking those concerns with a sarcastic apology recorded by a cemetery i

15:58i made an incorrect assumption that everyone in the auditorium understood that yes we are all going to

16:10perish from this earth so i apologize and i'm really really glad that i did not have to bring up the subject

16:21of the tooth fairy as well and tonight the white house is threatening republicans who oppose this bill

16:32back on this busy monday night the deadly home explosion the blast captured on a neighbor's

17:55his home in san antonio texas police say jonathan joss was shot multiple times on his property near the

18:23so many around the world have been waiting for and watching for the baby eagles getting ready to leave

18:28the nest we first reported on this family of bald eagles in southern california's san bernardino mountains

18:33back in march capturing the world's attention so many watching this nest cam online for three months

18:40now from the beginning mom and dad taking turns keeping the eggs warm in the snow the eggs then

18:45hatching the baby eaglets sisters named sunny and gizmo growing up right before our eyes now as big as

18:51their parents late last week one of the babies gizmo out on that branch flapping her wings hovering there

18:58for just over three seconds but not leaving the nest and then today big sister sunny on the right

19:05older by about four days spreading her wings her wingspan more than five feet already and watch the

19:12moment sunny leaving the nest the non-profit friends of big bear valley documenting the eagles and sharing

19:21them online classrooms watching and cheering them on including mrs arnerich's third grade class in arcadia

19:27california the children watching live and chanting fly tonight so many cheering on those baby eagles

19:36while back in that nest tonight sunny hasn't returned it's possible she won't but scientists say they
