Some showers around especially in northern areas, but these should dissipate into this evening leaving clear skies for most. There will be a chance to see the Northern Lights for northern areas where the skies stay clear. Turning chilly under in the north, but warmer in the south. Into tomorrow, a fine start to the day for most. -This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 01/06/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Kathryn Chalk.

00:00Hello, well there is plenty of fine and dry weather to come on Monday but low pressure
00:05is going to move in to make it unseasonably wet and windy through the evening. So take a look at
00:10the bigger picture we've actually got this ridge of higher pressure building in into Monday but
00:14out towards the west this is where we have this deep area of low pressure unseasonably strong winds
00:20especially across northwestern Scotland and into the Irish Sea 55 60 miles per hour is possible
00:26this cold front will bring some heavy spells of rain too before it gradually clears its way south
00:31and eastward so that's Monday night and into Tuesday so keep an eye on the forecast for that
00:37but back to the rest of this evening and overnight there's still a few showers around especially
00:42across northern Ireland Scotland into northern England and parts of Wales but as that ridge
00:48builds most of the showers will start easing and it will be dry for most of us with lengthy clear skies
00:54there is even the chance of seeing the northern lights across northern parts of the UK tonight
01:00and it is going to be turning a little bit chilly especially across northern areas we could even see
01:05a touch of grass frost underneath the lighter winds so as we start Monday morning plenty of sunshine on
01:12offer dry for most of us there may be a few showers across parts of Wales but as we go into the afternoon
01:17the main focus is going to be across parts of Lincolnshire Yorkshire and East Anglia for some
01:22showers out towards the west plenty of sunshine but the sunshine will be turning increasingly hazy
01:28across northern Ireland and Scotland later as we see this area of low pressure arriving with a
01:35strengthening wind as well so it is generally going to be feeling quite cool here but in the sunshine
01:41especially across the south lighter winds and it should be feeling pleasant highs of 20 to 22 degrees
01:48so as we go through Monday evening and overnight we see this area of low pressures from the north west
01:54moving its way through so bring some heavy spells of rain across northern Ireland Scotland then moving
02:01swiftly across the country accompanied like I said with some very strong and gusty winds ahead of that
02:08generally staying largely clear to start Tuesday morning but otherwise temperatures ranging from 9 to 11 degrees
02:16so as we start Tuesday morning it's going to be an unsettled start across the central swathe of the UK
02:22this band of rain will quickly move its way south and eastward perhaps lingering for the longest across
02:28the south and east then behind that well it's a case of sunny spells but frequent blustery showers
02:35especially across the north some of the showers could be heavy perhaps with the odd rumble of thunder but
02:41even falling perhaps as snow over the highest mountains in Scotland otherwise generally a cool
02:48feeling day especially in that breeze but if you do catch the sunshine especially across parts of the
02:53midlands and the southwest highs up to 18 to 20 or 21 degrees so there's quite a lot going on
03:00so make sure to stay tuned to the forecast and you can do that by subscribing to our youtube channel
03:05I'll catch you soon bye bye
