00:00The alleged driver of a car that ploughed into a crowd at Liverpool's victory parade
00:04has been charged with offences such as wounding and causing grievous bodily harm against six victims.
00:11We know that Monday's shocking scenes reverberated around the city of Liverpool and the entire country
00:17on what should have been a day of celebration for hundreds of thousands of Liverpool FC supporters.
00:24Our thoughts remain with all of those affected.
00:27Paul Doyle, 53, is accused of seven offences following the incident on Water Street in the city centre
00:33on Monday 26th of May, which resulted in 79 people suffering injuries.
00:40I fully understand how this incident has left us all shocked and saddened.
00:46And I know many will continue to have concerns and questions.
00:51Our detectives are working tirelessly with diligence and professionalism to seek the answer to all of those questions.
01:02When we are able to, we will provide further information.
01:07At a press conference on Thursday, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Mersey Cheshire, Sarah Hammond,
01:14said the investigation is at an early stage.
01:16Prosecutors and police are continuing to work at pace to review a huge volume of evidence.
01:24This includes multiple pieces of video footage and numerous witness statements.
01:30It is important to ensure that every victim gets the justice they deserve.
01:35The charges will be kept under review as the investigation progresses.
01:39The Crown Prosecution Service said he's accused of two counts of wounding with intent,
01:46two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent,
01:49two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent,
01:52and one count of dangerous driving.
01:54A wounding charge and an attempted grievous bodily harm charge relate to a child.
01:59Criminal proceedings against the defendant are active,
02:03and he has the right to a fair trial.
02:05It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information or media online
02:13which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.
02:17Please allow the legal process to take its course without undue speculation.

02:43Assistance Chief Constable of Mirsai Police Jenny Sims said seven people remain in hospital.
02:49I hope that all of those who were injured or witnessed in this terrible incident are able, given time, to heal and recover.
