00:00You are one of the winners of yesterday's stage GCYs. What's your stand of it?
00:05Yeah, I was happy to gain some time. I was surprised that no one really wanted to go on
00:11the second last climb because that was a good opportunity to go and really put some damage in
00:17because UAE just wanted to ride a relatively slow tempo up there. But yeah, I was happy today
00:23with yesterday's stage in the end. Julia, you came to the Giro. It was not planned.
00:29You came as a domestique for three riders who came first or second of the Giro recently,
00:34and now you are the leader of the team. How exceptional is that?
00:38Yeah, I wanted a different Giro now because I wanted to help Primoz to take the pink jersey
00:49in Rome. But sometimes the things are not where you want. So now starts a new Giro and let's see
00:58what happened in the last three stages. Are you pleased with the fact that UAE team
01:02Emirates finally showed some weakness yesterday? Does it change the Giro?
01:08It for sure changes the Giro. But it also, I think, makes it a little more chaotic
01:14because they have such a strong team. And when their leader was looking almost invincible,
01:19then it was very straightforward of how the race was going to be played out. Now,
01:22it's, there's a lot of uncertainties. I'm sure Visma and EF will try to, try to capitalize on that,
01:28on that, uh, on Del Toro getting dropped yesterday. So yeah, it could make for some,
01:33uh, some pretty crazy next few days.
01:35Do you know the Mortirolo? What do you want to make of it?
01:38Yeah, I did it in the baby Giro, but a different way up. So I know,
01:44I think we are, I know how hard that way it was. I think this way is not as hard,
01:48but it's still a hard climb. Uh, we also did the same way downhill that year. So,
01:53yeah, it's obviously a really famous climb and, uh, get to do it again. So, uh, it'll be nice.
01:57Are you in the ideal situation, second on GC and not far from the Malia Rosa?
02:02Uh, I mean, yesterday was a good day. Um, of course, uh, Caraba showed himself to be,
02:07uh, probably the strongest here. So, yeah, I mean, uh, I'm happy with where I am, but, um,
02:13yeah, we'll see what the next days bring.
02:15With your experience of the Giro, do you want to wait for Colet delle Finestre or do you want to try and
02:21get the Malia Rosa before? Uh, it's a cliche, but I'm just going to take it day by day. I think,
02:26um, today is also a really hard day. Um, actually, the whole week, there's really no, uh, easy stage.
02:32So, um, yeah, I'll take it as it comes and, uh, I just try to do my best.
