00:00Third week of the Giro, do you still feel strong?
00:03Yeah, I'm feeling okay actually and the team's been performing really well so the motivation is high in the team and yeah we're looking forward to the last week.
00:12Do you think something can happen today like on stage 3 when some sprinters were not there because it was hard before?
00:19I think it's more likely a big breakaway if a lot of sprinters go to the line. I think a stage like today there's a lot of riders that haven't been able to be at the front of the bike race for a long time so a stage like today there's going to be lots of guys wanting to be in the breakaway and make the most of it so I think it's going to be really hard for a sprint team to control and yeah I think you could see a lot of fast guys in the breakaway.
00:46In your team are all the resources put into the GC because Derek G clearly can target the top 3 now.
00:53Yeah, yeah for sure we came here with the big target of the GC with Derek and yeah I sort of came here to help on the days I could and then also also have a go at the odd stage so yeah we're 100% behind Derek and that's a big priority especially now that he's riding so well and with a chance to win the Giro.
01:11You guys from XDS Astana have won a stage, had the Malia Rosa, the King of the Mountains is secured, what else can you get here?
01:20Yeah for sure the Ciro won't be great for us so far so for sure we are really happy with what we achieved already but you know there are still some opportunities to come and we want to secure the King of the Mountain jersey and maybe go for another stage win.
01:42Your home stage, your home stage finish, how special is that?
01:47Yeah it's really nice to be here and yeah finally a nice stage for me.
01:52What can make it a burn sprint finish what cannot make it a burn sprint finish?
01:56Yeah I mean first part of the race it's pretty hard I would say.
02:01For sure a few teams they want to try to drop us and to make the race harder.
02:06I think today will be more like complicated to arrive at the sprint but yeah we are here we have to fight for it.
02:13What are the elements that can make it a burn sprint finish?
02:17It comes down to the breakaway I think controlling the start is the most important thing for us making sure the group is small and you know and other sprint teams are not in so they can help control.
02:28Do you feel that there are still a lot of sprinters in contention?
02:32Yeah of course I think there's also a lot of teams that are maybe not happy with their results so far so they're the team that will be looking to push the breakaway.
02:40But yeah in our position we hope that we have some help from the other teams and other sprinters.
