00:41This is your time. Thank you, Brandon
00:43My journey has been a steady growth
00:47It was very difficult for me to make it has literally been two months and probably like a day
00:52Since my sister passed away, well, you did a beautiful job and you can consider this a tribute to her. Thank you
00:59This was the first look that came out. It really set the tone
01:02I never met a person that been through the things I've been through and still been able to
01:06Make a way for themselves. You are on trend if not making your own trends Laurence
01:13You are always so exact and measured
01:16I want you to go back to that denim dress where you
01:21Showed us a softer side of you. It's in you just
01:27Show it I will to be here right now. It feels like a great accomplishment
01:31This has been a long road
01:34I'm actually very much in awe. It's damn near perfect fashion has always been in my DNA since I was
01:4116
01:43so, um, I
01:44Got pregnant when I was 16. I
01:48Got a letter telling me that I was accepted to fashion school
01:51The way that you're able to cut a garment is incredible as Alicia Keys would say that girl is on fire
01:59All right, Brittany
02:00We all really respect that you have carved out a lane for yourself in fashion
02:06You've earned this spot in the top three. Thank you as a designer
02:11I have really learned that my
02:14Aesthetic my craft and what I do best is enough
02:18This is unexpected coming from you and it's nice to see your range. I'm seeing forward-thinking ideas from you
02:25It's just looks cool. If I'm true to myself and I can stand by my work and have that conviction
02:31Then that is all that matters
02:33You guys can finally exhale
02:36Thank you. You made it you each have
02:39$10,000 and
02:42eight days
02:43To make eight looks to be shown at the finale Wow. That's one look a day a
02:51collection that will win it all

03:24This is project runway all-stars
03:36I have this. Oh, this is nice as hell
03:42Amazing
03:45Come in come in
03:46Christian Siriano's atelier. It's beautiful and it's very inspiring. This is it you made it
03:53Doesn't it feel good?
03:56Today you start to work on your collections that you've been working for this entire competition
04:02This is such an amazing opportunity
04:04You get to make whatever you want to make be who you want to be shock
04:08Not only the judges, but the whole world is watching
04:11I think you really have to take the judges on a journey
04:15Yeah, and I think that they'll really appreciate that. You know, I have a good surprise for you
04:20We're gonna give you some help this week. Oh, we're gonna bring back some of your eliminated friends. Whoa
04:27Roger
04:29Carousel and Fabio
04:32And we're also gonna give you $10,000 and you guys can go anywhere in the fashion district that you want
04:39It is big stakes all-stars you have to impress these judges. Yeah, this is it
04:46Yes. All right. Bye Christian. Thank you
04:50This is the very first type of like freedom to shop that works all around the garment district
04:55We have three and a half hours to shop. Elaine really wants me to like lean into who I am
05:01So my strategy is to create a collection that embrace this active wear path
05:07But also progressing into active wear as like evening wear
05:11So I'm gonna show you how to do that. I'm gonna show you how to do that
05:15I'm not a professional designer. I just want to be a designer
05:17I just want to be able to create a collection that embraces the active wear path
05:23But also progressing into active wear as like evening wear
05:27And use color tell a story of things that just get more and more intense
05:33On to the next I'm one of the most commercial designers in this competition
05:37But it doesn't mean that I can't give a very inspiring
05:41Just absolute killer runway show
05:43but I am going to do some things
05:46that people don't really expect of me,
05:47which is playing with colors
05:50and try different types of fabrics to do like a mix.
05:53So I have this color, that color, I have black.
05:56I always listen to Madame Nina,
05:59so I'm really playing with the masculine and feminine,
06:02the hard, the soft.
06:03Basically, my collection is a marriage of the two.
06:06Yes, baby.
06:07That's what I'm looking for, all the good signs today.
06:09Fashion is literally my diary, my saving grace, my religion.
06:15The vibe from my collection
06:17is inspired by my process of grieving.
06:22I want to showcase what I'm feeling and how I'm feeling.
06:26I ain't balling on the budget this time.
06:28I know for sure I'm going to use whites, creams,
06:32black, and different shades of red.
06:35To be able to tell my story with my collection
06:38is my way of being able to honor my sister.
06:42Okay, you guys, it's real.
06:47It's really been real.
06:52Hello. Hello, room.
06:57In order for me to calm my nerves
07:00and just making it feel at home,
07:02I put up my sister's obituary.
07:04Is she going to be here making the connection with you?
07:06My sister told me before she transcended that I got this.
07:10I dedicate this all to her.
07:12Let's get it, baby.
07:19This is dope.
07:25What the ... This is a coat?
07:27Yeah. This is beautiful.
07:30What you over here, cutting?
07:31Yeah, cutting number two.
07:32Cutting number ... You're on number two?
07:34Yeah. Damn.
07:36The time frame that we have to produce this collection
07:39is ... insane.
07:40And this was in your head?
07:41I'm just going as I go. Do I know what I'm making yet?
07:45No, I do not, because I don't have any drawings.
07:48My collection, it's a little blurry in my mind.
07:51Oh, man.
07:52I'm tired.
07:54Y'all, it's been a day, but it's time for us to go.
07:58Let's go do the damn thing. Day one down.
07:59Coming up ... Let the competition begin.
08:02Model casting.
08:05I only have three looks. God save me.
08:08Oh, so you're going to have to sew
08:10like you've never sewn before.
08:11Why are you so pouty?
08:13I want to get finished sewing. This is overwhelming.
08:24All right, what are we doing here?
08:26Hey, look, I'm wearing something I made.
08:27That's cute.
08:32Hi, everybody.
08:34Hey. What's up, Christian?
08:35Yay.
08:36All right, we have a big day today, guys.
08:38You'll be selecting your models for your show.
08:42That's huge. Wow. Absolutely.
08:44All right, I'm coming to take a peek
08:46before the models get here.
08:47Brittany. Hey, you.
08:48Look at all this. I know.
08:52It's girly and cool and fun and young.
08:55Maybe you need that one sophisticated thing.
08:58Yeah, I need it.
08:59Imagine this could be like the most badass pants.
09:03Yeah. Don't even look to the left.
09:05They are going couture du jour over there.
09:09I just have to do it in a way that's like,
09:10hey, here's what you love about me, but like in a show form.
09:13Yes. I have to remember that, so.
09:15Okay, goodbye.
09:18We got a lot going on up in here.
09:20Bitch, me. Tell me everything.
09:22So, right now, I'm in like this, like, Kill the Old You,
09:25but Rebirth of the New You, so-
09:28Like a phoenix reborn.
09:30Reborn, yeah. I like it.
09:31What I'm kind of like doing is doing like this white look.
09:35Oh, that's here?
09:36Yeah, that's kind of like not having experienced life.
09:40I want to ease them into the drama.
09:42Yes, this is the opening. This is the opening.
09:44This is how the progression goes in the collection.
09:47Yeah. Last thing is just-
09:50Is this couture moment.
09:52Yeah.
09:53I literally want her to walk and conquer that.
09:56I think that's kind of cool.
09:57Thanks, Christian.
10:00Laurent.
10:02Yes.
10:03So, what did you kind of come up with as like your inspiration?
10:06My inspiration is a night in Paris.
10:09Because what is the color palette?
10:10So, I have gray, purple, red.
10:14What about even making a very classic, beautiful suit?
10:20Yeah, yeah.
10:21What's the opening look? What is that going to be?
10:23I don't know yet.
10:24You don't know yet.
10:25You're still planning what you want to make.
10:29Yeah.
10:30But it'll help if you have a better plan.
10:32All right.
10:33Well, good luck.
10:34Thanks.
10:35It's a roller coaster here.
10:39All right, models are here.
10:41Oh, I can't wait to do this.
10:43Model casting.
10:45Model casting. What are you looking for, Brittany?
10:47I want something that like really just gives off bad girl energy.
10:50What do you think, Bish?
10:51I just want a badass look.
10:53Arance, diversity, and body.
10:57Don't be fighting over girls.
10:59Let the competition begin.
11:05We don't need a card from you.
11:07We're the card.
11:12Guys.
11:13I can literally do anything.
11:15Hi, love bug.
11:17I'm manifesting it.
11:19Hey, boo.
11:21He's not here.
11:23Put your head down.
11:25Oh, there she is.
11:27Oh, I love you.
11:30We're so professional here at this model casting.
11:32Jessica, you're welcome to my show.
11:33No, she's not.
11:35You guys have to pick.
11:36Let's do a...
11:37Whoever you need me to...
11:38Those two.
11:39I will help.
11:40Wait, wait, wait.
11:41Chill out.
11:42Back up, back up.
11:43I just need Jessica and Sinead.
11:44So whoever's name I draw gets to pick who they want.
11:47Oh, my nipples are sweating.
11:50Brittany.
11:51Oh.
11:52Okay.
11:53Okay, you get Mimi.
11:54I'll let you have Jessica.
11:55Poor Anna.
11:56That's a great choice.
11:57Look at us being civilized human beings.
11:58Wow.
11:59Look at that.
12:00Tiffany's on the runway.
12:01All right.
12:02You've got models.
12:03You've got materials.
12:04You're doing it.
12:05Yes.
12:06Oh, my gosh.
12:07Hands in.
12:08Hands in.
12:09Go team.
12:10Go team.
12:11Y'all need help.
12:12What's that?
12:13I can breathe now.
12:25That's really good.
12:29So, how is everything?
12:30It's stressful.
12:31But I love how you do jackets, so I know you can freak this.
12:36I don't know if you feel like making a pattern for the shirt.
12:41And what's it going to be, Adam?
12:43I don't want to just create like eight looks
12:45just to put eight looks on the runway.
12:46I want to surprise myself.
12:48I need to figure this out.
12:49You have tonight to sleep on it.
12:54Active way in the finale.
12:55The pressure, it's even more now.
13:00Hey, queens entering.
13:04Hey y'all.
13:06Okay, well we'll make it work.
13:08Yeah, bitch, let's do it.
13:09Okay, right there.
13:15Hello.
13:16Fab, so pretty.
13:19Overall, how are you feeling?
13:20I'm feeling great.
13:21Feeling great?
13:22Still got to cut the green jumpsuit,
13:24still got to cut.
13:25You still have to cut it?
13:25I mean, I have the pattern.
13:27I got some sleep.
13:28I'm organizing my head and I have a plan.
13:32What's the purple look?
13:33The purple?
13:34Where is it?
13:35It's a jumpsuit.
13:36Wait, you didn't make it yet?
13:36No, not the jumpsuit.
13:37I have the pantsuit.
13:39It's a suit.
13:40Oh, the suit, no, no, no, it's a suit.
13:41So the two looks that you haven't actually sewn
13:43are the green jumpsuit and the purple suit, right?
13:47You haven't seen them.
13:48Yeah, I did.
13:49Tomorrow, fit those looks.
13:51Because you don't know, you know what I mean?
13:52They're both the curvy girls.
13:54Two full looks.
13:55Yes, yes, yes.
13:56We're going to do it, we're going to do it.
13:58With the hood and then the bra goes over.
14:01We do the shrug.
14:01How's it going?
14:02Let me see this look.
14:03What is happening?
14:04I do not like her.
14:05You're fighting her.
14:06Look it, like that's not the pant.
14:08What about a little short or, I don't know.
14:11With that top, with that dress?
14:14It's not this pink pant.
14:16Like she looks like a little kid.
14:17This is like fashion, fashion, fashion.
14:20Because your looks are sportswear.
14:22You don't need a more casual of the casual.
14:24Okay, thank you.
14:24You're welcome.
14:26Fish me.
14:28Ooh, what's happening?
14:31That is fabulous.
14:34You can come in the area so I can show them.
14:36Why are you so pouty?
14:39I want to get finished sewing.
14:41Yeah.
14:42I don't have a lot of stuff done.
14:43Okay, get to sewing then.
14:44Fine, you don't have to talk to me.
14:46Let me know if you need anything.
14:47I will.
14:51Roger, give him some love.
14:55Well, yeah, that's what I've been doing.
14:56It's loving my brother.
14:57Okay.
14:58All right, designers, when you're ready,
15:00take your models to the Tresme Hair Salon
15:03and the Bobby Brown Makeup Studio.
15:04Good luck.
15:08Hi.
15:09Hey.
15:10How are you?
15:11Good to see you again.
15:12Good, I'm so happy that you're here.
15:14Tell me a little bit about your look.
15:16The whole vibe is very high fashion active.
15:19I'm gonna use a Tresme Extra Hold Mousse.
15:22It's going to help me keep her hair back,
15:25but it doesn't have that sticky feel
15:27that most mousses have yet.
15:29Yes, model.
15:30Yes.
15:30Thank you so much.
15:31Hello.
15:32Hey, I'm excited.
15:33Tell me about your look.
15:34So I really want for them to have like strong,
15:37just bone straight flowy, just like really sleek.
15:41Super sleek, modern.
15:42So I'm gonna use a Tresme Pro-Infusion Smooth Tonic.
15:45Okay.
15:46It's gonna really help with the shine and hydration
15:48and really get us that sleekness that we're looking for.
15:51Okay.
15:54Leaves her hair hydrated and smooth.
15:57Already super sleek, super soft.
15:59That's awesome.
16:00It's already giving us what we need.
16:02Thank you so much.
16:05I'm so good.
16:06It's so good to see you.
16:07Talk to me about your collection.
16:09I'm dying to see it.
16:10I want them to be super classy.
16:13Taking a touch of our Longwear Cream Shadow Stick
16:15in a shade that's matte.
16:17I'm just gonna add a little bit of depth right here.
16:21I love it.
16:22Thank you so much.
16:23Good luck.
16:24Bye.
16:27All right, designers.
16:28I have exciting news for you.
16:30Tomorrow morning, CFDA is coming to meet with each of you.
16:35Oh, wow.
16:36It's gonna be really helpful.
16:37I promise.
16:38Take advantage, take it in.
16:40Bye.
16:46I only have three looks.
16:48God save me.
16:49I said my stress level wasn't that high, but now it is.
16:51That's time, people.
16:53Let's go, you guys.
16:54Night lounge.
16:56Let's go.
16:58Here's to you.
16:59Congratulations to you.
17:00Congratulations.
17:03So how do you guys feel, though?
17:05Yeah, final three.
17:06Yeah.
17:07It's like someone telling you great news
17:09and then pushing you off a cliff.
17:11Good.
17:12I'm sad.
17:13I feel like a knot in my throat.
17:16I am feeling a bit worried about my overall collection
17:19because I do not see it coming together yet.
17:22Stress me out.
17:30Last day in the workroom.
17:34Happy final day.
17:36Where do we start, girl?
17:37I sew it in on both sides, right?
17:39Yeah.
17:42Hi.
17:43Hi.
17:44I'm Mark Karamazata, the editorial and communications
17:46director of the CFDA.
17:47I'm so thrilled to be here and to meet all of you.
17:50I'm really here to see your collections
17:52and to talk to you about your future, your brand.
17:55Wow, I'm excited to have you.
17:56Yes.
18:01Oh my gosh.
18:03Brittany, what's your customer look like?
18:05She's a city girl, very independent.
18:07You know, she does her own thing.
18:08Well, you're ahead of a lot of designers
18:10because you already know exactly who your customer is
18:12and you know exactly what your brand looks like,
18:14which is a great thing.
18:16I love this denim jacket.
18:18Yeah.
18:18It was upcycling, and that was one day.
18:21What's in there?
18:22It's very heavy.
18:22It's muslin.
18:23It's very good.
18:24It's very heavy.
18:25It's very heavy.
18:26Like this, trying to work in my DNA,
18:28it kind of did really start like here and here
18:31and doing like the undergarment pieces here.
18:33Which must be so difficult with the challenges
18:35because it's all different challenges.
18:37So how do you bring the DNA into that challenge?
18:39What would you see that starting point for me,
18:41like for the mentorship?
18:42Like where would it be looking down the road
18:45and what I see by brand being?
18:47We'd look to help speak to people
18:50who know the business of fashion.
18:53Yeah, that would be amazing.
18:54Well, thank you so much.
18:55It was so great to meet you.
18:57Whoa.
18:59What would you say your story is
19:01and who you really want to address with your clothes?
19:03For my story, I'll use fashion as my diary.
19:06So I'm always adding hints of myself into the garment.
19:10See real range, which is really important, I think,
19:12in terms of building your business.
19:14We're an organization of more than 450 members.
19:16We have a lot of resources to help a young designer like you.
19:19Gotcha.
19:20Thank you so much.
19:22Hello.
19:23Hello.
19:24Hello.
19:25Thank you so much.
19:27Hello.
19:28Laurence, so if you had to describe your brand,
19:30how would you describe it?
19:32My brand is edgy and classy.
19:36Obviously looking here, I see the whole breadth
19:37of your talent.
19:39Yeah.
19:40Leather is your focus,
19:41but are you really thinking about other materials?
19:43How are you looking to expand your collection?
19:45I want to do everything.
19:46Leather is my love, but I want to do everything.
19:48That's why I try to do a mix of different things.
19:51That's a very smart thing
19:52because when you think about a woman,
19:54she might really love leather,
19:56but there's other parts of her life
19:57when she doesn't want to wear leather,
19:58and then she would be the go-to designer
20:00because she already likes your aesthetic
20:02and what you stand for.
20:03Thank you so, so much.
20:10Hey, you guys.
20:11Are you ready for models?
20:13They're here.
20:16Yes, work.
20:18Welcome back.
20:20So this model fitting is exactly what I needed,
20:22and I just need to fit this spandex tube shape
20:26on Jasmine to make sure that we're on the right track
20:28of just perfecting this look.
20:30You know what would be cool
20:31if I put a biker short underneath it?
20:34I'm going to take this in a little bit, too.
20:41This is probably the most stressed out
20:42I've been all season
20:44because I'm not where I want to be at.
20:46I'm not at a proper checkpoint for myself,
20:48and I'm dealing with grief.
20:50It adds more pressure on to me than I already have.
21:00Bitch.
21:01Where is he?
21:11What's happening?
21:16Well, we have a model inside. Come.
21:20I've been handling my grief throughout this competition,
21:23but I think what was making me sad is that, um...
21:28F***, bro.
21:31If I got all the way to winning that,
21:33it wouldn't feel good because she's not here.
21:37This has been a rollercoaster.
21:40It's a lot that hit me today.
21:42I'm just thankful that I have Proje here
21:44to keep my head on track.
21:46He reminded me that I'm here for a reason
21:48and keep that focus on why I'm here.
21:57Do you want longer?
21:58Over the shoe?
21:59It's fine.
22:00Right there?
22:01I'm glad I did the fitting because the fit has to be proper.
22:04And so far, it's no bueno.
22:06Is that a good enough length for you to walk in?
22:08Mm-hmm.
22:12This part of the pocket?
22:13The tie.
22:14The center, yeah.
22:15This gown, the dimension is remarkable.
22:19The train looks so good,
22:20and the styling hat came together
22:22with the ribbing and the hood.
22:27What time is it?
22:2930 minutes, so we got to pack it up, guys.
22:31Oh, s***.
22:33I ain't going now without a fight.
22:39And done. That's all you need to do right now is the jacket.
22:41Yeah.
22:42I was like, LaRonce needs me here
22:43for more support more than anything.
22:46I got to go.
22:47See you tomorrow?
22:48I mean, I will see you.
22:49You probably won't see me.
22:50Yes, I will.
22:51I'll be looking for you like this.
22:53I love you so much.
22:54I love you, too.
22:55OK, thank you.
22:57See you tomorrow!
22:59Oh, thank you so, so much.
23:01I love you, too.
23:02All right, I'll see you tomorrow.
23:03All right, see you tomorrow.
23:05There's literally no way that this collection
23:08would look like it does right now without Fabio's help.
23:11We're done with this workroom, and it's bittersweet.
23:15All right, you guys, ready to head out?
23:18Later, workroom.
23:25I just want to say I'm so proud of all of us.
23:28Me, too.
23:29I'm proud of us, too, man.
23:30And this is beautiful, man.
23:34To be here and to finally be able to showcase something like you
23:37want to showcase your best, because we learned a lot
23:39since, at least me, I learned so much since I've been here.
23:43All right.
23:44Let's do it.
23:45Here we go.
23:46Coming up, welcome to the Project Runway finale.
23:49Then pull the drawstring.
23:50Let me see the back.
23:52My heart is racing.
23:53I can feel it.
24:04Oh, wow.
24:06This is amazing.
24:07Look at this.
24:08Amazing.
24:10This was just a dream a few months ago.
24:13When I left my season, I didn't win.
24:15I placed third.
24:16So to be here right now, living it, it's everything.
24:21The grand prize, the mentorship, the public relations
24:25that I need so badly.
24:27Good luck, y'all.
24:28One, two, three.
24:31I feel like a madman right now.
24:33Hi, everybody.
24:34No!
24:35All right, the show starts in one hour.
24:37No.
24:38You need to make sure all your models get through the work,
24:41hair with Tresemme, makeup with Bobby Brown.
24:45Hi, y'all.
24:46Hi.
24:47Hello.
24:48So excited for the show.
24:50Hi, hi, hi.
24:51Hi.
24:52You guys know what it is, right?
24:54Can we just keep it in hair red but glossed?
24:57I love and hate the stress backstage.
24:59Pull the drawstring.
25:00I can feel it.
25:01My heart is racing.
25:08All right, designers, that's it.
25:10That's time.
25:11You did it.
25:12It's showtime.
25:21Hi, everyone.
25:22Hi, everyone.
25:24Well, welcome to the Project Runway season 20 finale.
25:29Woo!
25:31Unfortunately, Brandon Maxwell couldn't be here with us tonight,
25:34but we are honored to have two fabulous guest judges,
25:39Emmy, Grammy, and two-time Tony award-winning actor
25:45and style icon, the Billy Porter.
25:48Woo!
25:52Oh, my God.
25:53I'm going to have a heart attack.
25:54I love you back.
25:55I love you back.
25:57I'm going to have a heart attack.
25:58I love you back.
26:00And award-winning fashion designer,
26:03a beloved member of the Project Runway family,
26:06the one and only Zac Posen.
26:08Woo!
26:11Fabulous show.
26:12The designers worked so hard.
26:14Let's do it.
26:15Yes.
26:16Let's start the show.
26:19I'm nervous.
26:20I am so nervous.
26:21It's already too late.
26:22It's going good.
26:24Woo!
26:28Hi, everyone.
26:29My name is Bernie Allen.
26:30You might remember me from season 18.
26:33Hi!
26:35Familiar faces.
26:37So, my collection is called Popgression,
26:40and essentially, the story of the collection
26:43is just a progression of color, print,
26:46and what I do best, which is active wear
26:49and ready-to-wear married together.
26:51So, I hope you love it as much as I loved making it.
26:54Thank you guys so much.
26:55Woo!
26:56Woo!
27:04I am so thankful that this is the tone we are starting with
27:08because it is everything.
27:09My collection has me written all over it.
27:12It's DNA, identity,
27:14everything that the judges wanted to see from me
27:17in this very identifiable way.
27:19You can't look at this collection
27:21and not know exactly who it came from.
27:25Oh, my God. It looks so good.
27:33It shows me and what I do,
27:35and it's just a small nod to the active wear,
27:38but it's elevating this progression story.
27:55So, Jessica Z is killing these pants.
27:58The pants are getting so much movement.
28:00With her walk, you see the dimension.
28:05Wow.
28:08So, this gown, wrapping up this runway show,
28:12it could not have been showcased better.
28:16Okay, baby!
28:21Fabulous.
28:22It is active wear eleganza,
28:25and I am dead.
28:28The, like, athletic whiff of couture.
28:31Yeah, literally.
28:32I like it.
28:33You leave the gym, and you can still look good.
28:35From gym to night.
28:36Exactly.
28:37I love it.
28:38I love it.
28:39I love it.
28:40I love it.
28:41I love it.
28:42I love it.
28:43I love it.
28:44Tonight.
28:45Exactly.
28:46Exactly.
28:47Honestly, this collection is beyond
28:49what I could have ever imagined.
28:51I have exceeded all expectations I had for myself.
29:02Fishman, you're about to go in.
29:04I'm good.
29:14Hello, everybody.
29:15My name's Vishvi Kromardi,
29:17and my collection is about powering through.
29:19So, that's my message to everyone here.
29:22Just power through.
29:23Hope you love it.
29:25I love it.
29:44This is a pinch-me moment for me
29:46because to actually be here at the finale
29:50is mind-blowing.
29:51This is so many different personalities
29:53that I have within me
29:55and so many different techniques that I have.
30:08To see the evolution of this collection
30:11is just amazing to me
30:13because I allowed all of the darkness
30:16and all of the things I've experienced in my past
30:19to help me get to this moment.
30:31To be able to have this moment
30:34that I've been dreaming for
30:35since I first watched this show as a teenager,
30:39just breathtaking.
30:50It's so good.
31:08The finale dress, what happens to be the anxiety gown,
31:12is everything plus more.
31:15I've always told myself I will close my collection out with the most massive gown ever.
31:34Incredible in such a short period of time.
31:37He's smart with his construction materials.
31:40I gotta literally step back and be proud of myself
31:43because I don't know if anyone would have been able to handle
31:47what I handled literally days before the runway show.
31:51He's blowing me away.
31:52Well, if anyone can follow him, it's Laurence.
32:02Hi baby, I just want to say hello to Marley, I miss you, I love you.
32:09My name is Laurence Bass.
32:10So my fashion is always inspired by where I'm from,
32:13so I wanted to make a collection about Paris
32:17and I wanted to bring the dark side of Paris and the beautiful mix together.
32:23So, you guys enjoy and à plus!
32:41This collection is me.
32:42If you understand my collection, you'll get to understand a little bit of who I am.
33:03I feel like people are still thinking of leather like
33:06there's only one or two things you can do with it,
33:08but leather has evolved so much that you can literally do anything with it.
33:17That's what I want to do, I want to take leather to a whole new level.
33:30I came here saying I was the next Paris runway winner,
33:33so I really believe in my heart that I could win this whole thing.
33:37Watching my creations go down the runway,
33:41it's a whole bunch of emotions and it's a moment, you know what I mean?
34:02When the finale look comes down the runway,
34:05it is giving, giving, giving.
34:08I love the model, I love the look.
34:11It was pretty clear from the beginning that she was going to close the show.
34:24She's ambitious.
34:25She is.
34:26I mean, of all the pre-designers,
34:28every material she used has nothing for giving.
34:32She's working with leather.
34:35This whole experience of Project Runway,
34:37you always learn something when you come here
34:39about yourself, about life,
34:41things that you don't even know you're capable of doing,
34:44so I'm super proud of me for making it this far.
34:53It was 100% evidence that these designers were all-stars.
34:57I especially enjoyed Brittany's show because she didn't go over-the-top couture.
35:01She designed real clothes and real sportive.
35:09If I were picking a winner, I'd be going with Brittany.
35:12I love that collection.
35:14Haven't seen my baby in over two months.
35:17It's been a while.
35:18You know, I have to say, I think it's Laurence's game to take the whole thing.
35:22I thought her collection was the most cohesive out of everybody's.
35:26Thank you, guys. You killed it.
35:28All of you did an amazing job.
35:33Now we wait.
35:42Final three all-stars.
35:44We are so incredibly proud of you,
35:46so impressed by what you were able to achieve in just eight days.
35:52And of course, can we give it up for our guest judges today?
35:57That pose in Billy Porter.
36:00It's overwhelming.
36:02The three of you delivered three incredible different shows
36:08that relied on your unique point of view.
36:13I am always so moved by fashion,
36:18and I am so, so happy to be here.
36:23Laurence.
36:24Hi.
36:25Nice to see you.
36:26Nice to see you.
36:27A reunion.
36:28My pleasure.
36:29I think you're so talented.
36:30Five years on the show, the best tailor I've seen.
36:34You all delivered a unique vision.
36:37Thanks.
36:38Let's start with you, Brittany.
36:39Okay, let's do it.
36:41Tell us about the collection and your inspiration.
36:43I wanted to show the progression of introducing color and introducing prints
36:48and then combining colors that you wouldn't think that you would ever, you know, put together.
36:52Yes, it was eight looks, but it was 21 pieces.
36:54It was really fun to make.
36:55You stood out, but you stood out in a good way.
36:59You found a way to put an evening gown in the context of your active wear world that you're building.
37:06It's magical what you've been able to do to elevate the active wear slash athleisure space.
37:14Wow.
37:15What an honor.
37:16I think the really interesting parts of your collection were the pieces where you took the inspiration of active wear
37:23but did it in a more high fashion, kind of luxury technique way.
37:28It kind of took it to a whole new place.
37:30My only criticism is off of the runway, it could go a little costume.
37:36Your styling was phenomenal.
37:40You gave every girl that ponytail, the hoops, and the same boot.
37:45But what most impressed me was the pant version of this.
37:50And turning this pattern into a 3D perspective made me think, wow, you could do things on a bigger scale.
37:57Wow.
37:58That's, my heart is full.
38:00Thank you so much, Brittany.
38:02Ishmi, tell us all about your collection.
38:05Tell us about your inspiration.
38:07We want to know everything.
38:08I wanted to showcase the good side of things, the not so good side when it gets a little rocky.
38:15And then when you overpower the darkness and the things that kind of like build you to be the stronger version of yourself.
38:21The first opening look showcased the innocence.
38:24Innocence?
38:25Kind of like an innocence, my version of innocence.
38:27She's a vixen.
38:28She loves it.
38:29And the red represent rage and the black just represent darkness.
38:34This dress actually represents anxiety that you overpower.
38:38I really love that this is called the anxiety gown.
38:41Because it doesn't feel like the anxiety is oppressive.
38:47You got to that place where evening wear can become art.
38:51So you did something very special and very moving for me today.
38:55Ishmi, it was cohesive.
38:58It was inspiring.
38:59It was sophisticated.
39:01And most importantly, it was well edited.
39:04The juxtaposition of that kind of urban influence with the elegance of your work was genius.
39:11Ishmi, you always surprise me.
39:14And as an editor, I can see these on the pages of our magazine, on celebrities.
39:21Your clothes just have that fashion with a capital F.
39:24Thank you, Nina.
39:25That means a lot.
39:26The only look that I didn't think you needed was probably the latex gown.
39:33Gotcha.
39:34Because we've kind of moved away from the sleeves, which used to be your signature.
39:39And I think that you are a designer that has so many ideas, you don't really have to stick to one.
39:45Thank you so much, Ishmi.
39:47All right, Laurence.
39:48My inspiration was Paris.
39:50I'm an African girl.
39:52I was born in Normandy.
39:53So I wanted to bring both sides together and create my story,
39:59which is like two worlds that usually don't really meet.
40:03I love coming to Project Runway because I get to shop.
40:06I want that.
40:07We're going to exchange numbers.
40:09No problem.
40:10I got you.
40:11Because I need that.
40:13Laurence, you deliver garments that are so precise and well made.
40:21I love that pull and push of the romantic with the hard, that very sculptural jacket.
40:28These are things that could look terrible together but will never do under your supervision.
40:35You exude an elegance and a sophistication.
40:39And I can see evolution in your work, but it's still signature.
40:44The one look that I kind of had trouble with, the purple thing.
40:48Yeah.
40:49Where'd that come from?
40:50That wasn't the direction I was going with the suit, but...
40:53Trust your gut.
40:54Because if you have that instinct, I think pull it.
40:57Okay.
40:58I love the duality of your inspiration, but mostly I was excited to see a new side of you.
41:05You were able to incorporate this joy, this fluidity, this poetry, this romance, and you turned up the volume.
41:15In the history of Project Runway, I think you make clothes that look more expensive than anything this show has ever seen.
41:23This is going to be an extremely painful, difficult decision to make tonight.
41:29Whoa.
41:31But it's time for us to decide the winner.
41:34Thank you, guys.
41:35Thanks.
41:37An honor.
41:39So we have three designers here who are worthy of winning the prize.
41:44And unfortunately, only one can win.
41:48Who do you see as the future of fashion, right?
41:51I feel like there is a case to be made for each and every one of these designers.
41:55Absolutely.
41:56They just are so incredibly different.
41:58For instance, with Brittany, she's in a class of her own because she's designing for activewear.
42:03With Brittany, she got an 8 out of 8.
42:06You gave Brittany an 8 out of 8?
42:08I was impressed with all of it.
42:11Honestly, I believe that she is capable of much more than just activewear.
42:16But also there's nothing wrong with just having that niche.
42:19Absolutely.
42:20Repetition is reputation.
42:22That's really good.
42:23Yeah, I like that.
42:24That pant that she did, she took the fabric and she turned it into that 3D.
42:31Little texture.
42:32Yes.
42:33She's mixing colors and textures that are not that easy to mix.
42:36That category is so important right now, the activewear, right?
42:41My question is, what is the longevity of that?
42:45Right.
42:46So who has that longevity or who is looking forward to fashion?
42:51Vishmi, for me, had the singular piece of the evening inside of that anxiety gown.
42:57He gave us a really well edited, a really thoughtful show that made you think the art on the finale piece.
43:04But he added pieces of him and his heart in every single piece.
43:08It was like a crescendo, right?
43:10Yes.
43:11For eight pieces, I thought that was very well done.
43:14He created consistency through asymmetry from the hoodie dress to the top and skirt dress.
43:20It kind of follows through and then it goes into a print, which was really strong, into the fringe dress.
43:26Not my favorite, but that idea worked.
43:28I didn't feel like it would fit properly.
43:30He has these elements that could rock the red carpet.
43:34Absolutely.
43:35He reminds me of a Telfar.
43:36Everything had a streetwear, street style influence, but ultimately the thing that caught fire were those bags.
43:43Were those bags.
43:44That's the business.
43:45Some designers just love to make clothes, but not Vishmi.
43:48He loves the accessory and the clothes.
43:51Well, you know who I'd love to see make a bag?
43:53Laurence.
43:54Oh.
43:55With her technique.
43:56That leather bag.
43:57And her seaming.
43:58Those are the things that you really value in clothing.
44:00She's just remarkable.
44:02Like every single stitch and moment was really brilliant.
44:07She's a sexy tailor.
44:09She's a sexy tailor.
44:10With edge.
44:11Right.
44:12But she's not a good editor because she had this purple thing.
44:15I would have done anything to get rid of that.
44:18The moments where she messed up were forgettable to me.
44:21To the point where I would give her double points for each look that I loved.
44:26Because I loved it so much, the biker jacket could not fit better.
44:31And same with the skirt.
44:32When this is a finale, runway moment, give me a little more.
44:37Sometimes, wow, it doesn't need to be big.
44:38It doesn't need to be big.
44:39And we're talking about, I mean, I'm a gown guy.
44:41Not the way you are.
44:42I'm just saying, sometimes things can be quiet in their power.
44:46And that speaks to her taste level.
44:48That's what makes her such a tasteful, elevated, refined, sophisticated designer.
44:53That red jacket in patent leather with the lace, paillette skirt was fabulous.
45:02It's hard.
45:03All of them have that super power that will make them a phenomenal winner.
45:10Okay, do we have the winner of Project Runway Season 20?
45:16Yes, we do.
45:17Yes.
45:19Ah!
45:32Designers, today, once again, we're witnessing the relentless power of fashion.
45:39It has been a real honor to be sitting in this judging chair for 20 seasons.
45:48We are so proud of all three of you.
45:51But there can only be one winner.
45:53And tonight, one of you proved that your brand is ready to take this industry by storm.
46:00And we are ready to watch you shine.
46:04The winner of Project Runway is...
46:19Bishme.
46:28I've dreamed of winning Project Runway ever since I first seen Christian on his season.
46:35And to be here the second time and win, it honestly felt like the kid in me is just extremely proud and just excited as hell.
46:44I thank y'all so much for this.
46:46I miss my sister so much.
46:48And before she passed away, she told me I was gonna win.
46:55All I had to do was just believe it.
46:57And this just right here just showcased to me everything I've been fighting for is worth it.
47:03I owe this win to my sister.
47:05My biggest fan.
47:07The first person who didn't judge me for doing something outside the norm.
47:14And she was there to allow me to blossom and fall deeply in love with my creativity.
47:26I know my sister is looking down and just happy and smiling from ear to ear.
