00:00You
00:03Previously on Project Runway all-stars
00:07We want you to create a gown fit for royalty, oh we're dividing you up into teams of two
00:17We have to remember there's no immunity this season that was unpleasant that looks like you stuck it on with a hot glue gun
00:23You wanted a modernized portrait collar. Do you love it? I'm almost there the winning team
00:30Delivered a look that was fit for a queen
00:33Kato and project but only one designer can be crowned the overall winner Kato
00:40Brittany and Anna Victor and Kane unfortunately your teams had our two lowest scores
00:49Victor you're out
00:51You
00:56Fashion designer Christian Siriano
00:59journalist Elaine Walter on fashion designer Brandon Maxwell and editor-in-chief of Elle magazine Nina Garcia are looking for
01:06America's next great fashion designer at stake for the winner a quarter of a million dollars
01:12supplied by pilot friction erasable pens a
01:15Feature in Elle magazine and a career-changing mentorship with the Council of fashion designers of America
01:22This is project runway all-stars
01:34What do you want
01:35How do you feel? I needed to sleep and grieve. I was in the bottom last week. My friend Victor went home
01:42I do really respect what he does with corsets and leather and costuming and stuff like that and he really loved it
01:51It just made it a little tough. What did you say? You're only as good as your last design on the runway period. Yeah
02:05It's too dark for me, is it spooky? Oh my god. What is that?
02:12Something's in there
02:26All right designers I came up with this next challenge myself for this exact moment
02:34Okay
02:36Whatever this is I don't like it
02:39There comes a point in this competition when you have to make your mark and now with immunity off the table more than
02:46Ever like we just saw
02:50One day you're in the next you can be out
02:53Literally scary. I
02:55Love it
02:58Each of you must create a fabulous runway look
03:03from this single bolt of fabric
03:12It's a big bolt of fabric
03:13It's such a primal red
03:17That this is gonna be hard to work with. It's an even playing field. That's what we need
03:23Yeah, there are no other rules when it comes to the design. Do you just get to do you?
03:28So do I love the color red?
03:32Not really, but I'm so excited to put something out on the runway that really just speaks to who I am
03:40All right, Kato. You won the last challenge
03:43So for your advantage you get first choice of models designers, I've always wanted to be here
03:52Girl you killed it, but I think Roberta Roberta
03:57Fabulous everyone else is gonna get your model by a random draw
04:03Here comes a fun part
04:14It's a hundred and ten yards, okay, you guys can decide how you divide it up amongst yourselves
04:21you guys have 45 minutes divide the fabric up and
04:24Sketch in the workroom because guess what what this is a one-day challenge
04:31This competition just got real
04:34right now
04:36This is the one bow challenge, which is very fitting because I want to bolt out of here. Come grab your fabric. Here you go
04:51I'm a queen. Queens don't carry stuff
04:55Alright
05:00Okay, y'all I'm under adults go away cuz I promise you I'm good at this one
05:06Two how does it feel it's it's dense. Yeah, okay. I got you, baby
05:14I mean, I like the feel of it. This is a really nice sweet, huh? Is that fusible? Yes
05:21And this is actually very challenging same boat same color same fabric for all the designers
05:28This is crazy, but it can really push the designer to do things creatively
05:34I am using ruffle constructed by the boning to make the two pieces of the cage from the top of the hat and
05:42The body and let the rest of the ruffle drip to the floor
05:47I'm definitely trying to do a gender Mendy queer fluid look for this challenge
05:53I've been wanting to do a pair of pants where the crotch turns into a tie closure
05:57I think it's really a cool size inclusive way of working because it really can fit multiple shapes
06:02I just have so many ideas and I really hope I have the time to get them all out
06:06So I'm thinking of making definitely separates
06:09I want a top that buttons up the front has little strappy details and then these like
06:15Sleeves that hang off the shoulder. I want to just create this like beautiful full pant that has a
06:20Placket down the center of the leg and it opens up where it's giving like old adidas, but high-fashion
06:28Very sporty cool girl. So I'm finally getting to showcase my aesthetic
06:36I'm feeling these 11 hours are gonna fly by
06:39What do you think about all this red?
06:42It's making me sick. Yeah, same
06:44The premise is to create an outfit to stand out from the rest of the competition
06:50How are you gonna do that if we're using the same red fabric to stand out?
06:55I'm doing a jumpsuit that looks like a dress from the front in a jumpsuit from the back
07:02unexpected a little bit
07:04What you over there doing big boss, oh just you know, so in some fabric what color did you choose?
07:11You know this red that was available. That's what I'm doing. You have to create something that showcase who we are
07:18Do avant-garde?
07:20Streetwear style designs that feature something that you've probably seen but just not in the element that I created in
07:29So I'm working on a blazer that has exaggerated shoulders
07:34I am taking a big-ass risk because fusible interfacing is meant to make structure, but you know what?
07:41I'm using it as visible fabrication in hopes that the judges get it
07:48Are you braiding this?
07:53When I saw the all red
07:55I'm thinking I want to make a bomber jacket with flowers to create texture
08:00I'm going to be in a sea of other red stuff
08:04But nobody's gonna do that the way I'm doing it red alert. It's
08:16Hello, what are you making since the judges seen?
08:21Dresses all the time. I mean, yeah, I thought I'll show them something that I'm really passionate about which is tailoring tailored suit
08:29With wide leg pants, it's my version of the power suit but for young girl fabulous
08:35But that's not really your biggest strength. Mm-hmm
08:37Do you think this is a challenge to be you to show them what you do as a great talented designer?
08:45All right. Good luck. Thank you
08:49Hi Brittany, hey Christian, how did you come up with this moment here? You know, I do a lot of active wear
08:55So I was thinking how can I merge my love for ready-to-wear my love for active wear into one?
09:01Since my original season, I've done a lot more active wear a lot more athleisure much more like sportier pieces
09:07But it all kind of started on this like crazy whim. I
09:12Had a stroke on an airplane
09:15The ambulance came to get me at the airport and a clot did in fact move to my brain and I was fully paralyzed
09:22On the right side of my body. I relied on Peloton to kind of act as a rehab and didn't make a full recovery in six
09:30weeks
09:31weirdly enough it
09:33Changed my life for the better
09:35My new love for fitness has kind of fueled this
09:40Active wear venture. So everything will have like that
09:43Dimensional stitch. Yeah, it's cool. It's really cool
09:47Amazing. Good luck
09:49Kato our last winner. I like that. Keep it
09:54Tell me everything what are you doing since I can't use print or texture I'm creating it
10:00What I do that Afro bohemian chic no one here does that. So I'm actually envisioning some basket weaving
10:07But just elevate the look maybe it's a tighter weave
10:09It's gonna have to be even if like you wrap some cool jewelry or earrings or yeah
10:16Bracelets, I'm gonna have her on I believe in you
10:19All right. Good luck. Okay. Hi darling. What's the idea?
10:24What's the concept how to make a dress that would kind of work for a lot of people?
10:29This is what you sell to the store after the show
10:33You know, yeah, you're not doing that
10:36Well, and I was kind of thinking like I wanted
10:39I wanted a dress for the everyday woman. Well, that is not a challenge
10:46What do you do it is better than everyone in this room
10:52Evening Christian is right. This is not an everyday woman challenge. This is the time for me to shine
10:58Hi bitch me you have nothing to look at do you my pretty smile in my face big picture. What are you doing?
11:06I don't know if I'm gonna do these shoulders
11:09Do that it's strange, but I think that's what the judges are gonna want to see
11:13They want to see something really unexpected really cool different and could become a signature. Gotcha
11:22Hi, hi Christian what's happening here roughly is my thing and it's extra smithing
11:28I want to make this more dramatic more exaggerated. You want it to be a bit more like a piece of art art
11:34Yes sculptural. This is your chance. This better be
11:39Unbelievable. Okay. Thank you
11:44You have nothing
11:52I love carousel like that's that's my boo, but she still has significant amount of stuff to do on her look right now
11:59It's two pieces. Yes, so that's what you're gonna make. Yeah one dress
12:03Which is a cute little hoodie dress, okay
12:05But then if you want it to wear it say evening or something like that
12:09Just whip off that long dress and have a little short dress underneath
12:13Okay, so it's about this reveal. It is about the reveal
12:21How's it going it's going looks like I just saw this dress
12:26The halter of the card then it wraps up into the card dress. It's not a dress. It's a jumpsuit
12:31It's a little safe
12:34They are looking for the all-star to bring all-stars is it gonna be this like
12:42amazing moment up there
12:52And I feel like this is about capturing the judges attention I feel like has to be the most
12:59Me do you think that that's the most fabulous interesting pant you could do?
13:05Everyone is outside of their comfort zone right now
13:07You want to shine but you have to do it in a fabric that's been chosen for you
13:12And I also feel like a jumpsuit that doesn't look like a jumpsuit is not boring. Those are my thoughts. Thank you
13:19Hi
13:22Big picture, what are you doing? I want to do something like a chic Street inspired
13:28Look, I thought of like having the zippers open up into like a Calla Liddy kind of like shape
13:33That's what you should do. Really? Are you sure that I think is a bit more
13:38Push innovative. Okay, something that others can't do. I think part of it. No, I'm not fast
13:46Fast what is wrong with you? You act like I don't know you. Come on. I'm pushing you. Okay. Can't wait. Hurry up. No pressure
13:53All right designers. Your models will be here in about an hour
13:57Remember push yourselves. This is the opportunity to stand out
14:07Oh cute, I'm trying to turn this suit something something. Yeah, was that after a Christian or were you yeah, it was after a Christian
14:13I'm dripping a whole dress over a suit. Come on. You need a brain break. Let's go. Yeah, I do need a brain break
14:18I was like, oh, I'm gonna do a dress a little short dress
14:23I am most known for
14:26Bringing the gowns the elegance the southern decadence. I love helping my clients look and feel their most beautiful
14:33This is why I love dressing women
14:35I
14:40Designers hi Christian. Hi. Are we ready for a model?
14:45Oh
15:00I'm gonna recut this drop. The neck was way too small
15:03So now I need to make the collar bigger and the neck part bigger now
15:07Let's get you in some pants
15:10I've never really worked with this fabric before
15:14Working on these pants I made them oversized so what I would have space to fit DD gonna obviously take in a ton over here
15:21But I didn't realize how tiny DD was and made them way way too big. This is it
15:27The pants are amazing. And what's the top? The top is in progress
15:30I have to recut the band so I can't show you I really want to finish my vision
15:35I really want to make this work
15:37But unfortunately my learning curve with this fabric has held me back definitely need to see them taken in
15:42Smidge got it. I
15:44Know I am taking a big risk just because I think that the judges are probably expecting some kind of cool
15:50Streetwear pants look and I do have that side of me and that's what I already do quite well now. I
15:56Think that's it
16:00This is it do a little
16:07It's a little
16:10Safe in the front, okay, pretty much safe pretty much safe
16:16I actually love it to make draping look like tailoring. It's not easy. That is the turn
16:30I like it. Awesome. It's gotta be finished. Yeah. Yeah perfectly. Yes, cuz you see everything
16:37Have everything yeah
16:40Yeah, what are you doing?
16:43Feeding this it's gonna be all around
16:48You love that
16:53This is the dress that not exciting him up what else can it be I
17:00Don't know if you can just stick ruffles on this I don't feel this is the result that I want initially
17:07You need to figure out what this dress is and I'm gonna murder you. I want to murder myself
17:15This ruffle needs to be more interesting could this wrap or
17:20Something I get anything else play around with it
17:22I have tons of ruffles to make and it is not easy
17:27This is the hard direction to go, but I have to make this happen
17:33Three hours guys
17:36Yeah, she's unzipped literally yes, sometimes you have to take a turn I love it I love it
17:45Any sleeves yet
17:47They're coming. Hmm. I work differently. This is early for me early. Yeah, so about to have her measurements
17:54perfecto
17:57All right designers say goodbye to your model, thank you model
18:01Thank you
18:03Bye
18:04All right designers come gather round. I have a little treat for you
18:12Yes
18:13All right designers. This challenge is all about creating looks that stand out and we want you guys to stand out, too
18:21So each of you is getting a little personal shopping trip
18:26I
18:32Am the one taking you shopping
18:37Because I'm the man with the Wells Fargo active cash card and I earn 2% cash rewards on purchases
18:46That's good for me
18:48They're giving the winner of this challenge
18:51$10,000
18:55I
18:59Pants are half done. I'm starting to freak out
19:02I don't love the material and I am not getting it to do what I need. I just didn't account for the stretch
19:08It's just too chunky and it's too funky. How much more do you have to do a lot?
19:14Are you gonna make it though? I don't know. You don't know. I am adding more ruffles
19:20I'm trying to figure out to make this ruffle on the body more romantic more fun
19:26And I literally just made the same dress. She made a few weeks ago
19:29I don't know if the judges are gonna call her out, but we'll see how that works out
19:34We have 30 minutes left
19:39I'm pressing I'm stressing
19:41It's the end of the workday and I should have stepped back and looked around the room
19:46Because I failed to notice that there are other drapes going on in the room
19:51My language is draping and what I am doing intentionally I see that other people are doing as
19:58problem-solving
20:00All right, y'all we're done
20:03You did good. It's time to go yapping
20:05I
20:22Love to shop the fact that we're on Christians dime is really cute and I know he's actually rich so
20:29It's gonna be some pretty good shopping
20:32Those are cool
20:34That's cool, right
20:36Everybody can use new clothes because I think by now we've like worn most of our things that we bought. Thank you
20:41Bring it all up
20:47Everything was on me
20:51Coming up
20:53It got so short. Yeah fully out. Why is everybody's booty out in this challenge?
20:59Wow, it's an insult. This is
21:16Let's do this thing. Here we go
21:18It's too much red up in here. I gotta make this look stand out. It's just on the top last week
21:24I definitely don't want to be on the bottom and whoever wins this gets 10k
21:28There's a red challenge, honey. I'm here for it
21:31Alright one step done
21:3445 to go
21:36Everybody did this draping thing and I went in like a completely different route with like the top stitching
21:43And doing it in a sporty way, so I'm hoping that that risk is worth it
21:49Good morning designers
21:52Happy show day
21:54Happy show day
21:56Who wants a model? I do
22:05I'll be done with this top in two minutes, but you're too early. I need to get this top done
22:10I need to fit it on DD. I need to finish enough that we have a look. I
22:14Am a little obsessed with what bish me is doing the faces on the garment
22:21I feel like this is really clever and it's on a road that nobody else is trailing
22:28Reds making us crazy
22:31So I started clubbing very young I
22:35Wanted to have clothes to go out
22:37By the time I was 15
22:39I was already well into the nightlife scene and a great way to communicate your style
22:45It's through original clothing and I didn't have money for it
22:49Just collect whatever scraps I had and then patch them together
22:52And that's how I started making clothes makes me feel unique or empowered and that's my favorite part
22:58The crotch is a little wonky because I didn't get to fit you a million times
23:01So we gotta go now ask fish me because I trust him above all else. I am definitely seeing fit issues
23:06Yes, I need you. I need you my darling. I'm definitely starting to feel fear the pants crotch
23:12Do I need to do this belt thing? It's
23:15That's what I'm talking about because I took too much I didn't take enough from the back and I took too much from the front
23:19Don't overthink it
23:21Designers when you're ready, take your models to the makeup studio and the tresemme hair salon. You need it
23:27Okay, so the hair I want something sporty like something messy and just real clean real sleek
23:33There's a lot of volume and I don't want anything else to distract
23:36Definitely the orange and then metallic
23:39Is she trimming for you, that's nice look at all these get all these look there's a lot get them up
23:47Hand-tacking these ruffles is going to take forever. I just hope we have enough time to finish this. Let's see
23:54Little strip. Okay after join Jessica's fitting
23:58I realized that her torso is way longer than I thought it was. Okay. Well you have 10 minutes
24:04You better cut a hem right now
24:07It looks gorgeous back here the booty gets covered right cuz it's fully out why is everybody's booty out in this challenge?
24:17This is this
24:19You have like seven. I know but you know what? I'm gonna do it
24:25Five minutes designers and we're leaving this room. Stop stressing me
24:29I couldn't achieve the vision that I wanted at the beginning because it is not innovative to me
24:36Almost there
24:37I added a piece to the skirt that I really thought was gonna be long enough
24:42It didn't even look like a moved an inch just have to pull it down a little
24:48All right designers, that's it
24:52Iconic last look. Oh my god. It's not coming on
24:56The reveal is really important, but there's no way I could send her out there with a mini skirt that short
25:04Beautiful we're good here. All right designers time is up. Let's start the show
25:17Designers
25:19How's everyone?
25:21It brings me so much joy to introduce you to tonight's guest judge. We have with us
25:28Emmy award-winning writer
25:31Actor producer and
25:35Master of style
25:38My dear friend Lena wait
25:43Take your bows
25:45Hi everybody. Oh
25:49My god, this is my favorite thing about Project Runway is
25:53Getting to see who the guest judges are and Lena Wade is a queer icon
26:00It's the goosebumps. I'm so happy to be here and I'm excited to see what you cooked up
26:06Thank you for everything you've done for us, thank you so much from designer to designer
26:11This is the most exciting thing because when you are all
26:16Having the same materials to get to see your point of view and to get to see who you are
26:21I mean, this is really such a moment. So I'm excited to see who succeeded
26:27I'm only excited to see who succeeded because we never like to see a failure. You know what I mean?
26:32All right. Let's start the show
26:47This book has my DNA written all over it
26:50It's literally active wear taken in a way that's ready to wear for the runner on it
26:55And I'm so thrilled that the judges can now see me and showing them who I am and who I've grown to be as a designer
27:10I love the dress is giving exactly what I needed to do
27:15It's very well fit onto her body. The drape is beautiful. It is completely something new for me
27:22I'm very happy that I was able to put it off
27:33My look goes down and I love it. I love the way the basket weave is came together. The pants are moving and it's very signature to me
27:46Definitely this look represents who I am
27:49And hopefully the judges see that and recognize it
27:56Seeing this look come down the runway
27:58I am really proud of the decisions that I made when I talk about draping being the language. This is the prime example of that
28:10It's meticulously crafted to showcase the body
28:14But at the same time it is an expression that only I could bring to life
28:26From the limitation of the material and the time I even it's not the vision that I wanted at the beginning
28:33It's so cool and it does represent my aesthetic and I made something very artistic and
28:40complicated and a different
28:49Would I have liked to reveal the short cute dress absolutely it was so dope it's still beautiful
28:56And it stands on its own even without the reveal
29:04I
29:16See my look go down the runway DD is killing it. I love the way she's walking. I'm really proud of what I did here a
29:27Lot of the looks on the runway tonight are looking a little too similar
29:31And I really think I did a good job of setting myself apart
29:41This look is not so much about what I'm capable of but more showing a softer side of me
29:50Personally I feel like I've done enough to be in the top
29:55But technically it's not the hardest thing I made let's just say that
30:02I
30:07Am so glad I made a gown for this runway y'all
30:12So different from anything I've shown before this look has Jonathan Kane all over it and it definitely is different from all of the other
30:19designers
30:25I'll tell you what, I think please because it's a lot
30:32I
30:35Feel that my look stands out I think she looks sexy. She looks sleek. She looks effortless
30:40I love the way the zipper accents the red fabric and kind of just like opens up
30:46I'm the only one who thought about the zippers in that way and I think that that's what sets my design apart from the rest
30:53This
30:59Look definitely represents who I am as a designer. I'm one of those people that love to take a chance
31:09So just really blown away by what I've created with this a little bit of time we were provided with
31:23I
31:28Guess you all turn into drapers and minimalist shirt. She was alarmed
31:44Designers, please step up to the runway
31:46Glory
31:50This was a challenge to show us what your point of view is and unless you guys have all turned into
31:58minimalist
31:59There were a lot of very similar looks and this is at the end of the day competition for creativity
32:07Designers, we've scored your designs
32:09We would like to speak to Rami Brittany
32:13Anna Hester
32:15Fabio and carousel
32:17Everyone else that means you are in and you can leave the runway
32:22Thank you
32:27I mean I get to sit and drink for once the six of you had the highest and the lowest scores
32:35One of you will be the winner and take home $10,000 and one of you will be up
32:43All right, we are gonna start with one of our highest scores of the evening
32:53What a treat
32:55So Brittany, how do you feel?
32:59relieved
33:00After last week, I wanted to do something that was like 40 spice if she was a gen Z
33:06Talk to me about the choice of the top stitching
33:09I knew that like all of these pieces together could look really flat
33:12It was probably a risk because obviously it's white and not red. There's a risk that paid off though
33:18So smart of you to do the top stitching so smart of you to do the crisscross it delivered on design
33:25but also in
33:28Practicality it is extremely sexy, but there's something very
33:33Just really fly about it and it seems to also be refined
33:38Thank you, you really nailed it
33:40Thank you. Thank you. Brittany Mimi. You may leave the runway
33:46We are gonna now take a look at one of our lowest scores of the evening
33:54Come on the dress is beautiful. I think so, too
33:59Rami yeah, hi
34:02What would you say in this dress is indicative of who you are as a designer
34:07I think incorporating the zipper into the actual dress like the hard and the soft sort of detail
34:12It's such a fine easy look to me. This feels like a rushed
34:18afterthought
34:19It didn't flatter her body. If you have 15 minutes to make a dress at least make it fit. I respect your opinion
34:27I think the zipper didn't quite work for me exactly just because I think it's almost too thin if I'm a little far away
34:32I have to almost be up close to really see that as a zipper. So I almost wish you would have leaned into it even more
34:38The styling is a little problematic. I could have done without the bangle or the earring
34:45It just needed to look a little more modern. But all in all I like this dress. Thank You Rami Mariel. You can leave the runway
34:54Okay, let's bring out one of the lowest scores of the night
34:58I
35:09Have never used a
35:11Spongy
35:12Polyester before and so I was a little out of my element. Okay. Got it pants are a
35:18crossover bell-bottom and then I did a side ruching and then the top is an asymmetrical drape with a little collar over
35:26Here, I think this really was a difficult challenge for you when it shows the ruching on the side
35:33Looks sloppy. It feels unfinished
35:37You can't hide it. You can't even style out of it. There is a lot going on. I think ultimately it might just be a
35:46Need to edit a little bit
35:49You threw a Hail Mary here, let's be honest
35:51Yeah, and I think what really truly happened is that it just wasn't working from a construction point of view
35:56Which you've pointed out and so you took us to Paris in the 70s. Does it look a little cheap? Yeah
36:02Does that speak more to the fabric?
36:05Than your talent. I think so. Thank you. I really appreciate that. Okay. Thank you Hester TD. We leave the runway
36:14Let's move on to a favorite of the night
36:21Wait, no, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait a minute. Oh
36:28How are you feeling I don't know
36:32Surprised I wear my own my jewelries because I
36:37Literally thought I will go home tonight
36:40Relax, you're in the top. So tell us about the look instead of doing one piece of garment. I want to make something
36:47artistic creating this sculptural
36:52Oh
36:54Wow, how many more times she gonna do a ruffle dress, this is grown hogs day
36:58There's nothing against Anna personally, but she makes the same exact look and she's in the top
37:02This is a technique that you played with a little bit in unconventional materials, right? That was the up
37:08You remember the piano back? Yeah, that was a plastic thing. This is polyester
37:14Got it. This challenge was about standing out and
37:19Yours stood out to me
37:21I think it's very clear that an individual came up with it
37:25And I think that's what we're looking for something that just feels unlike anyone else. That's crazy
37:31I'm about to go. I'm done. It's some bullshit
37:35Clearly we can repeat looks here
37:37That's just this bullshit right now is a joke. This is oh
37:45This is all-stars you got the best of the best to ever do it
37:49It's an insult
37:54Clearly we can repeat looks here as an editor when I saw it
37:58I zeroed in on your work and I thought you are
38:03Creative you worked your butt off. Thank you, Anna. Thank you. Shanae. You can leave the runway. Thank you
38:11When they come in here it's going to be Oh
38:14Ten to get lips it's gonna get real and I hope it does I'm gonna be the bartender
38:22The next look was one of our highest scores
38:30Carousel, how do you feel? I feel great. I'm a costume designer
38:34I wanted to mix up what I'm known for the gowns the cutouts and bring in what I'm now known for
38:41It looked so perfectly
38:43Matched to your model you were able to show us your background
38:49Thank you as a costume designer, but at the same time you were able to edit down
38:55It was a whole vibe. Thank you. It's very cinematic almost as fairytale, but also dark story as well
39:02That's happening. That's what I try to do is create memories
39:05With fashion, it's good to know that you play in this world. Thank you, and I love your work
39:09How could they not love that? I mean, it's cool
39:12Carousel, thank you so much. Jessica. You can leave the runway. We are going to move on to one of our lowest scores of the evening
39:24Fabio how are you to be frank? I'm a little distraught
39:28Why so being that I am a draper and a minimalist I felt like all of the draping comments
39:35Were directed towards this garment, I don't think any draping comments are directed at you
39:40I think you should just take that off your mind before you start tell us about the process of making the look
39:46This is actually a jumpsuit. So I wanted to make a look that from every angle you would see something different
39:51So from the front is a dress from the side
39:53You see the skin it has a cape and then from the back you see the pants, but it's all one piece
39:59Fabio I Nina to be honest with you when she walked down the runway
40:03I could not see the nuance that this was one piece
40:09Okay, the drape of this is absolutely beautiful. It's just that I have definitely seen more
40:16Forward experimental things from you. Thank you. It's not that this is bad
40:23It's that it's a little boring understood. Thank you for the comments. Thank you Fabio
40:29Thank you very much designers you can leave the runway and we'll call you back when we're ready
40:36I'm gonna make my African dress on the next challenge. I don't care what it is. Clearly we can repeat looks here
40:43Wow, it was a
40:45weird energy I feel the look of me like
40:51enemy this challenge
40:53was very deceptive because
40:56It seemed easy, but it really was not I think what the three top designs have in common
41:04Is that there's a wow factor. Yeah, we asked them to stand out. We asked them to be unique and
41:11Anna did something different. It's really remarkable that she was able to create these like believable rouge ruffles and also to I think
41:19The imagination it took to to create that silhouette
41:23I know she said she wanted to be more elaborate a little bit bigger a little bit more dramatic
41:27I can imagine that every designer right now is like I can't believe she's in the top because it was like ruffles on like a
41:32Cocktail dress, but you know what? At least it wasn't the same Grecian drape thing over and over and over and over
41:39Gotta take that risk, but Brittany really transformed that fabric
41:46With her stitching with her ruching. I forgot this was crap and you could tell
41:53That the model felt so powerful and so comfortable and so sexy in it
41:58I have been asking her to give us something original and she tries to push herself to be
42:02Like almost in the couture space and she needs to not do that and and it's okay to be exactly who she is
42:09Speaking of the perfect marriage between the model and the designer. I mean
42:14Jessica Karas on was sort of a match made in heaven tonight
42:17I thought Cara's son's look could really walk the Grammy red carpet and slay it felt cinematic as soon as she turned the corner
42:25So now for the difficult part
42:27We have to choose someone that will be exiting stage left. Well Fabio is one of them
42:33I could understand how Fabio was confused why his draped look of all six of them was in the bottom
42:39The look was really all about that pant that you couldn't see the pant
42:43But we have to talk about Hester and I understand that Hester came here in front of us being like I've never worked with that
42:50Fabric. Yeah. Well, that's the challenge. Yeah, so why would it be fair for her to get a pass?
42:57Flip the light cuz it was
42:59There's a lot going on. That's so much going on. It was the shoes. It was the hat
43:04I mean the tough thing for me is I think
43:07Rami's I struggled with a touch more. I liked it
43:10I thought it gave me sexy, but it was still elegant. It felt like
43:15It wasn't runway ready. I agree with Lena. I really think that Rami's look was just underwhelming. Oh
43:23This one's gonna hurt. Yeah
43:25You
43:32Brittany
43:34Karas on and Anna, it's good to see three women in the top. Yeah
43:40The three of you created looks with a clear point of view. Thank you, Anna
43:47You are in thank you nice job you may leave the runway
43:56I
43:58Brittany and Karas on we loved the concept and the execution on both of your looks
44:05But I have to say there was one unanimous winner
44:15Brittany
44:19You are the winner of this challenge
44:21And
44:22The winner of $10,000. Thanks to Wells Fargo active cash card Wow
44:28Thank you so much. Congratulations on a fantastic look and it's really good to meet you. It's such a big honor
44:33Thank you so much. Oh, of course
44:36Congratulations
44:37Kara sign you are also in congratulations. Thank you. You can both leave the runway. I only want a challenge
44:44After being in the bottom and almost like literally being buried alive and going home. Did you win?
44:51I did I
44:52Need to come back and make something that is worthy of a win. It feels ten times better
44:59Rami Fabio and Hester, unfortunately, one of you will be out
45:05Rami
45:07Your look did not stand out to some of the judges
45:12Hester we appreciate you taking risks, but this time you took too many that did not work
45:21Fabio
45:22You hid the most important part of your look behind too much fabric and the result was too safe
45:36Hester
45:40I'm so sorry. You are out Hester. You have a singular vision you remain true to yourself and
45:48That perspective that only you have and I'm telling you there is a place for you in this industry
45:55Thank you
45:57Rami and Fabio you can leave the runway
46:07Thank you for this opportunity
46:10Thank you for what you've given me in the past. I respect all of you a lot
46:15Hester thank you so much for being with us. I
46:18Think I still definitely deserve to be here
46:21I don't really know if being in the bottom one time for a fabric you're not used to is grounds for elimination. I
46:31Think at the end of the day it comes down to
46:33Who can do what with what and I couldn't do anything with this and this is where I am now
46:38I'm
46:41Not trying to be disrespectful
46:43I know Hester did create something very new that she had not shown the judges before and went home
46:49Do you feel the dress you made for the unconventional challenge and this dress were similar? I know what I've done
46:55Yes, I'm not saying the same thought I'm going home. It's not her fault. It feels a little disrespectful
47:03Wait you guys can I say something we were designers we love what we do
47:08We have an aesthetic and now you're here creating art. So, please don't bring any negativity
47:15into this thing
47:20The mood has changed the energy's changed just burn the whole day away just burn the whole bolt of fabric
47:27I don't know if y'all know this but this right here is gonna divide us
47:33Next on Project Runway all-stars meet the always stunning Jenny Garth
47:40Your challenge we are bringing back the 90s
47:44Here we go. This is so vinyl. I don't know. That's a bigger mannequin
47:48Everybody's on edge last challenge that real ugly real quick. It still hurts
47:53You don't have any of it done your choice of material was a mistake
47:58I wanted more the pleather is just it's giving me Halloween costume as a whole. I didn't get it
