01:58What is this place?
01:59Good morning, boys and girls, I mean designers.
02:25Welcome to our world of toys, FAO Schwartz.
02:28Christian is waiting for you inside.
02:47Welcome to the iconic FAO Schwartz.
02:52It is time for Project Runway's Most Feared.
02:56God dang it!
02:58Most Revered and Famed Way to Torture Designers.
03:03The Unconventional Materials Challenge.
03:07Okay, I'm happy now.
03:08Fun and whimsy are widespread across runways everywhere now.
03:13Tom Brown doing teddy bear top hat.
03:15In Milan, Gucci models were sporting gremlin bags and skirts.
03:19And Moschino just sent models down the runway in pool floats.
03:23Your Unconventional Materials Challenge is to create whimsical runway looks from toys.
03:32All the toys you see here, this is a two-day challenge.
03:39You're not going to want to see a whole dress made out of stuffed animals.
03:43That's the fabric, that's not impressing anybody.
03:46You have 45 minutes to shop.
03:48Okay.
03:49And you each get $2,000.
03:54Now, for your models.
03:56Okay, grab a bear.
03:57Cute!
03:59Those are your models.
04:02Oh, wow.
04:03Oh, that was who I had.
04:04Back to your spots, back to your spots, back to your spots, back to your spots.
04:08Okay, go!
04:12I mean, what's this?
04:14Come on, baby.
04:15This is insane.
04:16What are you getting?
04:17Uh, kind of red and black and white stuff.
04:20What else is new?
04:21Primary color.
04:22Listen.
04:25Unconventional again.
04:27Let's go back to season 19.
04:29I went home on this challenge.
04:32As a kid, I loved toys.
04:34But growing up in Haiti, I've never really got them.
04:37People are trying to survive.
04:39Okay, let's just put it that way.
04:41But first time in the United States, my mom was just showing me around.
04:44And, you know, she took me to her food stores.
04:46I was still young, and I thought it was the most magical place.
04:51I feel like my hoo-ha is out.
04:53I've always been interested in fashion.
04:55I've always been a high-maintenance queen.
04:57My favorite thing to do as a kid was dress up.
05:00I'm talking, like, my great-great-grandmother's furs with the satin gloves.
05:04Like, I wanted the good stuff.
05:06To me, whimsy is making sure that this thing is fun and playful.
05:09You cannot be getting...
05:11You don't need any more of these.
05:13You don't know that.
05:14I don't know that.
05:15That's a lot.
05:16One of the coolest parties that I ever had when I was a kid,
05:18I think I was probably, like, eight years old,
05:20my mom bought a bunch of blank teddy bears from the dollar store,
05:23and then she and a couple friends helped us make our own customized teddy bears.
05:26And it was so cool.
05:28I gotta say, that was one of the things that really got me going as a designer,
05:31seeing them work.
05:32If I've made clothing for teddy bears,
05:34I'm sure I can make clothing out of teddy bears.
05:36What are these?
05:38I'm picking up a lot of little pieces,
05:39because I want to create my own textile, so...
05:41That's cool.
05:42Oh, yeah, those are mine.
05:44Rami, what are these?
05:46Those are kites.
05:49Kites?
05:50Yeah.
05:51Cool!
05:52The one thing that is not exciting to me is unconventional, like toys.
05:57In the real world, that unconventional stuff does not exist.
06:01So my only game plan is to spend all the money that they give us,
06:05so I have options.
06:08I'll figure it out.
06:15That was fun!
06:17It is a little f***ing hot in here.
06:20I'm gonna take my head off.
06:22All right, designers, that's time.
06:24That's it.
06:25You need to be in line, checking out.
06:28I'll see you soon. We'll have a lunch.
06:29Fabulous.
06:38We're back.
06:39We're back, back, back, back, back again.
06:41Okay.
06:42Ugh!
06:46What animal is crying over there?
06:48Vectors.
06:49It's like a creepy toy sale.
06:51I'm really psyched about these.
06:53My cool tech s***. My bitch is from the future.
07:00So I think I'm going with, like, a Red Queen look.
07:03All cards. The whole thing.
07:05I love it.
07:08The theme I'm going with is Space Jam Glam.
07:11A lot of times people hear whimsical and go colorful.
07:15I want my girl to go the opposite route
07:18with a futuristic feel.
07:20Hair mirror on the wall.
07:21Who's the winner of it all?
07:23Me!
07:24I feel like the unconventional challenge
07:26shows you who you are.
07:28It really brings out that creativity in you.
07:31The outfit I'm trying to make is a short crop jacket
07:34made out of the stuffings of a toy piano.
07:37The one thing I do remember from my childhood
07:39is that I took piano lessons.
07:41So grabbing the piano was actually a homage to my childhood.
07:45My parents were really, you know,
07:47sacrificing for me and my siblings.
07:51I have a little love and hate relationship
07:53with unconventional.
07:54It's the unconventional materials challenge.
07:56If I were a judge, I might put you in the bottom.
07:59But I don't just be giving up on stuff.
08:02I don't do that.
08:06Where did the batteries go?
08:09No, this is gonna take forever.
08:12Okay, whatever, I'm over it.
08:14What are you doing?
08:15I am making a chain skirt
08:18out of H's and other various things.
08:21This is my...
08:22This is your jam?
08:23This is my jam.
08:24I've got this idea for a really cool hip situation.
08:28I purchased some children's umbrellas
08:30that are gonna make this perfect geometric hip line
08:33that's so modern and couture right now.
08:35I cannot rest on my laurels.
08:37Last week, which is huge,
08:38but it's a little crazy that there's no immunity.
08:41But this season, one minute you can be on top
08:43and the next minute you can be going home.
08:46Coming up...
08:47Let's go.

09:37I mean, I'm real fast.
09:38I know, but...

09:43Okay?
09:46Mila, you got unicorns.
09:48And I got puzzles.
09:49And puzzles.
09:50I'm gonna make a skirt
09:52and it's gonna be, like, this fabrication.
09:54This whole skirt?
09:56Mm-hmm.
09:57I'm making a skirt out of beautiful jigsaw puzzle tiles
10:01that look like a painting.
10:03What's the top?
10:04The top is going to be a fur hoodie.
10:08And then...
10:09You sure?
10:10Too much.
10:11It's not as, like, sophisticated as I feel like your clothes are.
10:16If this were 13 years ago,
10:18I don't think I would have picked plush unicorns.
10:21In season 7, I chose black and white
10:24corrugated plastic paint tray liners.
10:27That's on brand with who I am.
10:29But, you know, there's another side of me
10:32that's developed in the last 13 years
10:34that is softer,
10:35and I think that that's why I want to try something new.
10:39If you can make it feel really new and modern,
10:42it'll be exciting.
10:46Brittany?
10:47Hey.
10:48I see your tea party over here.
10:50Yes.
10:51Tea party, smashing the mosaic.
10:52That's what I thought for, like, the bodice
10:54and kind of making it, like, really intricate
10:56and make it look like beading
10:57and then have the skirt just be insanely full.
11:00No, you can't just use this fabric.

11:37I do have dragons.
11:40Growing up in Palestine,
11:43kites for me were a sign of, like, joy and hope.

18:26and avant-garde,
18:27and that's what you should do here.
18:28Okay.
18:30All right, designers,
18:31tomorrow, it's runway day.
18:33Love it.
18:34Yay!
18:35Happens quick.
18:36Good luck, I'll see you tomorrow.
18:37Bye.
18:38Bye.
18:39Thanks, Christiana.
18:40Bye, guys.
18:41Okay, let's go.
18:44What are you using now?
18:46A dress with the texture on it.
18:48Nice.
18:49Yeah.
18:50Ruffles?
18:51Ruffles, definitely.
18:52I changed my design immediately.
18:54I'm adding ruffle texture on top of the body
18:57to bring some fairytale kind of energy.
19:00Better work, honey.
19:02Anna, look, there's no toys there.
19:04At all.
19:11You gonna have enough?
19:12I really need Kato.
19:14At this point,
19:15I don't have enough yellow boomerangs.
19:17Kato has some boomerangs,
19:19but I don't know
19:21if I'm gonna get them in my hand.
19:23When we were in All Stars previously,
19:26Kato and I were very competitive against each other,
19:29and it wasn't a good feeling.
19:31Kato is, look, you could call it a curtain.
19:34Where's the design?
19:35Congratulations, baby.
19:37I am in big trouble.
19:39Why?
19:40I don't have enough to go all the way up.
19:42So at this point, I'm kind of counting only on Kato.
19:44Maybe if she doesn't use them, maybe I'll use hers.
19:47Take the rest of the yellow.
19:49Are you sure?
19:50I didn't want to, like...
19:51No, no, I'll take it.
19:53Last time, I think I was probably a little too competitive.
19:57You know what I mean?
19:58Yeah.
19:59I was definitely immature, and I'm sorry.
20:01And I thought of you a lot.
20:03Aw.
20:04I had to, like, air that out eventually.
20:06It takes a lot for anyone to admit when they're in the wrong.
20:11Much respect to him for just saying sorry.
20:14I appreciate that, Victor.
20:16Bring the wonder.
20:17Bring the whimsy.
20:22I have a hood, I have shoulders.
20:25I just got to put a body on it.
20:27If it took me that long to do that piece,
20:30I'm just going to come up with something else for the body quickly.
20:34I have this piano, plasticky fabric that I'm going to use as a base.
20:38But it's simple math equations.
20:41Am I being realistic, and am I going to have enough time to finish?
20:45All right, everybody.
20:47It's time.
20:48We have so much to do.
20:49We're done for the day.
20:50All right.
20:51Yes, it's time.
20:52I know.
20:53Let's go.
20:54Let go.
20:55All right.
20:59It's so expensive.
21:00It's lovely.
21:01Cute.
21:02The night before the runway of the Unconventional Materials
21:05in every single season is always a really, really hard night.
21:08So the fact that we get to go to a wine bar,
21:10decompress with each other, it's so needed.
21:16Hello.
21:19Oh, Mu Xixi.
21:22It's very emotional.
21:24Do you still know me?
21:26Are you nervous?
21:27Do you think we're going to have enough time to finish everything?
21:30No, I don't really get nervous, but...
21:34I caught my boy.
21:37And I did not cry.
21:45Coming up...
21:46Your model has to be dressed in, like, eight minutes.
21:49No immunity.
21:51What I want to know from you is why not try?
22:07Hey.
22:08Hi, darlings.
22:09Did you miss us?
22:11You have to be so careful, like, every time you turn something,
22:14because it's all paper and plastic.
22:16For the shoulder ruffle detail,
22:18I'm going to make it look modern and fresh
22:21by making it off-shoulder.
22:23It's not covered up, it's revealing,
22:25and it's sexy and fun and young.
22:31Hi, everybody.
22:32Hello.
22:33Hi, Chrissy.
22:34Wow, lots of progress.
22:37Gather around for me.
22:39I just want to take a minute to remind you all
22:41what we're playing for here.
22:43The grand prize.
22:45A quarter of a million dollars
22:47supplied by Pilot FriXion erasable pens,
22:50which you guys have been using for sketching and erasing.
22:53Yes, they're fabulous.
22:54Right?
22:55A feature in Elle magazine.
22:57Oui.
22:58And a career-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
23:02Also, we added in six months of representation
23:06from Agentry PR.
23:08Oh.
23:09I've had the opportunity to have PR in the past.
23:12It's extensive.
23:14All right, designers.
23:15Here come the models.
23:16Awesome.
23:19Hi.
23:20Good morning.
23:21It's so crunchy.
23:23We're going to adjoin them.
23:25Neck to butt.
23:27Just like that.
23:28Wow.
23:30We need a little something.
23:33I'm spray painting the panda's eyes.
23:35This is what I've got to do to really get this,
23:38like, villain aspect across.
23:40Like, that is the whimsical part of my story.
23:43I'm going to spray paint the panda's eyes.
23:45This is what I've got to do to really get this,
23:47like, villain aspect across.
23:49Like, that is the whimsical part of my story.
23:52To finish this look, I have to use closures from a wooden toy
23:57To finish this look, I have to use closures from a wooden toy
24:00to act as buttons, I guess, on the garment.
24:03I'm doing my best.
24:04I'm doing my best.
24:09All right, designers.
24:10When you're ready, take your models
24:12to the Bobby Brown Makeup Studio
24:14and the TRESemmé Hair Salon.
24:17Make it flat as possible.
24:19It don't even matter.
24:25We are doing something very, like, girly.
24:27I would go glam.
24:30Mila, look how much lining is coming through.
24:34Walk, Ziti.
24:36I mean, I knew it was going to come through somewhat.
24:39I mean, if you love it.
24:47One more f***ing ruffle.
24:49So it's down to the wire.
24:50I've got, like, two minutes
24:51to finish the entire mermaid hem of the dress.
24:54I'm literally cutting around this hem so fast.
24:58All right, let's go.
24:59We're leaving.
25:02Designers, one minute.
25:05Let's start the show.
25:06It's going to be fabulous.
25:13Hello, designers.
25:14Hello.
25:18I have seen it all
25:19when it comes to unconventional materials
25:21in this challenge.
25:22So I really hope you guys brought your wow factor.
25:26Yeah.
25:27This is where you really know, in my mind,
25:29who's technically the greatest.
25:31So this is always really fun to watch,
25:33and I'm excited.
25:35Please meet your guest judge,
25:38CEO and founder
25:40of global fashion brand Alice and Olivia.
25:43Ooh.
25:44Designer Stacey Bindet.
25:46Hi, everybody.
25:48Hey, girl, hey.
25:49Oh, my goodness.
25:50Everyone knows of Alice and Olivia.
25:52They have gorgeous women's clothing.
25:54It's a huge brand,
25:55and Brittany wears a ton of it.
25:57So excited to be judging this challenge
25:59because I love all things whimsy.
26:03We can't wait to see
26:04how you brought these toys to life.
26:06Let's start the show.
26:07Oh, my gosh.
26:14Oh, my gosh.
26:20My model looks so good in my designs.
26:22The paillettes look a little bit different.
26:25I cannot.
26:26I'm obsessed.
26:29It's colorful that I never usually do that much.
26:31Like, what even are those things?
26:33I was trying to figure that out.
26:35The initial design,
26:36I wanted to be more overlaid on top of each other,
26:38but I think it's looking good.
26:44Unconventional is a very tough challenge.
26:47To see a completed look coming down this runway
26:50that actually speaks to whimsy
26:52but at the same time is a fashion-forward shape.
27:01I am super happy about it.
27:03It could have gone wrong so many ways.
27:13As my look walked down the runway,
27:15I died and went to unconventional heaven.
27:19What? How?
27:22From not having any toys as a kid to creating my own.
27:28I would wear that jacket.
27:29I would wear the whole outfit.
27:35I think I really did an excellent unconventional look.
27:38Everything is good.
27:39Magnets are staying in place.
27:41Toys are secured.
27:44Not a stitch of it is expected,
27:46and it also comes together like an actual wearable garment.
27:49I am just loving how it turned out.
28:02It is very hard to sew this material,
28:04but I'm glad I took the risk because it paid off.
28:09I think it's a very strong design.
28:12Very strong vision.
28:14I just hope the judges can understand this is my whimsy.
28:19What type of toy would that be?
28:21I don't know.
28:26My look is completely finished.
28:28I love the way it's moving and walking.
28:30It's totally wearable.
28:33It's so fun. I love it.
28:35I think I did a great job.
28:37I love the fact that it's completed with a zipper
28:39and not sewn in or glued on.
28:42I have no concerns.
28:44It's a roller coaster.
28:55Everyone went in a colorful direction.
28:58I wanted to be opposite and go in a dark, whimsical direction.
29:04The wings are winging,
29:06and I love that I'm pushing it with the textures that I've created.
29:13I'm feeling pretty whimsical about my look.
29:15She looks like she just came from the future.
29:19And the shoulders, I love it. I would wear that.
29:23I literally could just, like, cry right now.
29:26The dress is perfect.
29:30You would never know that that is shredded tint and teacups.
29:37Ooh.
29:47I'm so excited.
29:48I'm so excited.
29:49I'm so excited.
29:50I'm so excited.
29:52This look could probably be in one of my movies, for sure.
29:57You are back in it. You can do it.
30:00This is just the tip of what I couldn't create.
30:03I like the dog bag.
30:05I mean, iconic.
30:07I'm just so happy.
30:14I'm not going to sit here and tell you,
30:16oh, my God, this was the best thing I've ever done in my life.
30:19It's not.
30:20But I'm okay with it.
30:24It is me, but it's not me.
30:32I see a lot of different colors that are interesting.
30:36I see the flounce that's moving around.
30:39I mean, I don't use plastic to make dresses.
30:44But I think creating a textile,
30:46that thought process does represent me
30:48because it's about having a unique approach
30:51in the creative part of something
30:54that kind of gives me a unique angle
30:56as a designer in this competition.
31:03I like the way my skirt has movement,
31:06feels whimsical.
31:10I am proud of my fabrication.
31:14I was trying to color outside the lines.
31:24We've got the drama of the cape, the hood.
31:27This girl is about to allure you to get what she wants.
31:31About to have a reveal, Nina, I can feel it.
31:33Here it comes.
31:36Oh.
31:37That's cute.
31:40And it's a fashion show,
31:41so I've got to create some drama
31:43and some special moments on that runway.
31:47I also kind of even want the desires.
31:49This is the best unconventional challenge
31:51we've ever had, for sure.
31:57Designers, what a fantastic show.
32:01It was, like, FAO iconic.
32:05You all delivered.
32:07One of you will be the winner,
32:09and one of you will be out.
32:18We've scored your designs.
32:22Fabio, Carousan, Hester,
32:26Anna, Bishme, and Coteau.
32:31You are all in.
32:34Congratulations.
32:36Good luck.
32:40Awesome.
32:41Yeah, okay.
32:42Here we are.
32:43Congratulations.
32:44This is two first challenges.
32:47The seven of you had the highest
32:50and the lowest scores.
32:53One of you will be the winner,
32:55and one of you will be out.
32:58We're going to start with one of our favorite looks of the night.
33:01Let's bring out the model.
33:05All right, Praja,
33:07you went home during the
33:09Unconventional Materials Challenge last time,
33:12and now, how are you feeling?
33:14When I first came to this country,
33:16the first place I went was Afrochoice,
33:18and I was blown my mind.
33:20Growing up as a kid,
33:21I never really had much toys to play with,
33:23so in my head, I wanted to create my own
33:26kind of toy, rock star, it girl,
33:30so that's why I went with the bass as a piano.
33:33This is the baby floor toy,
33:36and then, of course,
33:37I had to go and create an entire painting over that
33:40and turn this into a buffer.
33:41Wait, did you use the actual material?
33:44Yes.
33:45That's very impressive.
33:47I absolutely loved it.
33:49It's cool.
33:50It's giving street style, street wear,
33:52which is what you're all about.
33:54I hope you feel proud of yourself.
33:56This is a full circle moment,
33:57knowing that this was the first store
33:59that you ever visited when you came to New York,
34:01and I think this is what this challenge is all about,
34:04so I'm really, really impressed.
34:06Thank you, Prajay.
34:07Jessica, you can leave the runway.
34:11Shall we go for another one
34:12of our highest scores of the evening?
34:15Hello, darling.
34:21Hi, Kane.
34:22Hello.
34:23Tell us about your look.
34:24I always thought about my favorite Disney movies
34:26where there's always an evil villain
34:28that disguises herself as someone sweet.
34:32You have the Evil Queen pandemonium.
34:35I wanted to do something really modern and sculptural,
34:38so I also used the piano,
34:40but I cut and sewed all of these chevron strips.
34:43I loved it as soon as it came out.
34:46To create something this fitted
34:48and this, you know, sort of beautifully constructed
34:51out of those materials is not easy.
34:54The humor of the pandas, of the bleeding eyes,
34:58I thought that was full of joy,
35:00and I thought it was incredibly creative.
35:03The bleeding panda filled you with joy?
35:06It did, because it was so humorous.
35:09Thank you, Kane.
35:11Okay, next we're going to look at
35:13one of our lowest scores of the night.
35:20Mila, tell us about your look.
35:22For the top, I used about eight unicorns,
35:27and I decided I wanted to use a jigsaw puzzle
35:30to make a skirt, so I linked all the pieces together.
35:33I love the fact that this had a wonderful movement.
35:37My problem with this outfit, it's not telling me a story.
35:41It's not giving me a clear point of view.
35:43I don't know why you did it.
35:45I understand.
35:46There were elements that I like about this.
35:48I like that you put it with a chunky sneaker.
35:51I like the colorful bobble bracelet.
35:54It looks like you just didn't finish it,
35:56and then you grabbed a bunch of things from the accessories wall
35:59to try to make it look like something.
36:01I think it was that this process was quite time-consuming.
36:04I had this very clear vision of what I wanted for the skirt,
36:07and I would have liked for it to be fuller.
36:10Thank you, Mila.
36:11Okay, we'll get another one of our lowest scores of the evening.
36:19Rami, tell us about your look.
36:22I took the kite, and I wanted to create a color story
36:27from this first one that I saw,
36:30which was a butterfly shape of a kite.
36:33It's a childhood memory, so it's deep for me.
36:41I would see the kites flying outside in the sky,
36:45and I would see all the colors out there,
36:49and it was mesmerizing.
36:50I thought it was beautiful.
36:51I love the splash of color in the middle of the sky,
36:54so that was my inspiration.
36:56I love the concept.
36:57I just think the construction of the dress fell short.
37:01It felt noisy, both literally and metaphorically.
37:06Do you feel that it did not succeed,
37:08or did you feel that when you sent it out on the runway
37:11that it was successful?
37:12I will stand now and honestly say I do love the color story.
37:15Yeah.
37:17Thank you, Rami.
37:18Lyris, you can leave the runway.
37:21Okay, the next look was one of our highest scores.
37:26Let's get the model out here.
37:29Oh, s***.
37:32Tell us about your look.
37:34The bodice is tea kettles, tea plates, and tea cups.
37:39It's really beautiful.
37:40This took most of my time.
37:43This is like 20 full panels on the tent.
37:46Just the fact that you were able to create
37:48that number of ruffles and construct such a beautiful skirt
37:52in that time is amazing.
37:54It definitely provides whimsy.
37:55When I saw it, I kind of smiled.
37:57I really was very impressed with your ruching technique.
38:03Thanks, Brittany.
38:04Hey, darling.
38:06Let's move on to one of our highest scores of the evening.
38:12Victor.
38:15How are you feeling?
38:16Oh, my God.
38:17I'm, like, sweating everywhere.
38:19Tell us about your look.
38:21I really wanted to use this as a faux fur moment.
38:25And the heads of the dinosaurs,
38:27I really wanted you guys to see where it came from.
38:29And then I love these boomerangs.
38:32Wow, those are boomerangs?
38:34These are foam boomerangs.
38:35I thought those were, like, Polly Pocket spoons.
38:39This is so fantastic.
38:42Thank you so much.
38:43I mean, you were able to take these stuffed dinosaurs
38:46and create a shoulder and a structure and a coat
38:50that looks like it could be on a Paris runway.
38:53Really great job.
38:54Thank you so much.
38:55Roberta, you can leave the runway.
38:57Bye, baby.
38:59Okay, next we have one of our lowest scores of the night.
39:02Should we get the model out here?
39:07Laurence.
39:08Yes.
39:09Tell us about your look.
39:10Boomerangs, fur, grommets.
39:16Why not try?
39:22No, I did try.
39:23But did you? I don't know.
39:30Why not try?
39:33No, I did try.
39:34But did you? I don't know.
39:36Whimsical is not really part of my vocabulary.
39:43Why did you want to come back to Project Runway?
39:45I think I grew in the last six years I've been on the show.
39:48And just to show you what I've been doing.
39:52As I'm getting to know you for the first time,
39:54I'd love to have your work tell me something about you,
39:59even if the challenge takes you outside of your comfort zone.
40:02Thank you, Laurence.
40:04Amy, you can leave the runway.
40:08Thank you, designers. We have a lot to discuss.
40:11You can leave the runway.
40:13Bye, everybody.
40:16Bring it in.
40:17Rami, get your ass over here.
40:19This blew my mind.
40:20They made all of those looks with toys.
40:24Toys.
40:25Wonderful.
40:26It really was.
40:27The entire show and display of creativity was so impressive.
40:33It doesn't bring me joy,
40:34but we have to come to this every single time.
40:36We must choose someone to go home.
40:38What do you think, Nina?
40:40Well, Rami, I didn't think his was the worst one.
40:45It was the bottom half of his work that did not feel okay.
40:48It was ill-fitting.
40:49It was really stiff on the bottom.
40:51But I'm willing to fight for him to see another day
40:54because of his conviction and his story and his passion.
40:57Rami's look was completely finished.
41:00We may not have all loved it,
41:01but Mila, Laurence, there was, like, a shoulder that was done
41:05or a breastplate that was done,
41:07and everything else was like,
41:08let's just Hail Mary and see what happens tonight.
41:11I was surprised at Laurence's attitude about her project.
41:15I couldn't tell that she wanted to even be here.
41:18What counts is your skill set.
41:20And the thing is, the look was kind of crooked, too.
41:23It's great what was going on in the back,
41:25but, you know, the runway is facing forward.
41:28It was pretty bad.
41:29It was pretty bad.
41:30It was pretty bad, and you know what was also bad? Mila.
41:32The jigsaw puzzle half-finished skirt with the lining hanging out,
41:37it lacked a story and whimsy.
41:39There was no clear point of view.
41:43They both were not great.
41:45I'm really torn.
41:49All right, do we all agree who's going home tonight?
41:52Yes.
41:53Well, let's talk about our favorites.
41:54I loved how Brittany was able to construct a skirt
41:59that looked almost couture,
42:01turning pieces of a kid's tent into ruffles.
42:04I feel like the mosaic bodice just was really beautifully executed.
42:09There's too many superstars up here for her to play it safe.
42:12I totally agree.
42:14Let's talk about Kane.
42:15I really appreciated the construction of that dress.
42:19The way he used the umbrella pieces on the side
42:21and created that structure out of really unconventional materials.
42:26But it wasn't my favorite outfit.
42:28I thought it was fun.
42:29I thought it delivered on technique, showmanship, on storytelling.
42:34Is Kane number one on my list?
42:37No.
42:38I think if we're talking about which outfit was the most creative,
42:42I'm really torn between two outfits.
42:46Victor and Praja, I know, was pretty equal.
42:49It's really tough.
42:50Victor's look is very Moschino.
42:52Praja's look is very Louis Vuitton right now.
42:55They both felt like they could be on the runway.
42:58It's really hard.
42:59They were both so good.
43:02So do we all agree on a winner?
43:04Yes.
43:05Yeah.
43:08Okay, let's get them back out here.
43:10Welcome back to the runway.
43:15Kane, Brittany, Victor, and Praja,
43:19you all showed us whimsy in a way that brought us so much joy.
43:24I don't think any of us have smiled so much looking at the show.
43:27I know, same.
43:28And you should all be really proud.
43:32Kane and Brittany, you are both in.
43:37Congratulations, you two.
43:39It's an honor.
43:40Our Southern Belles.
43:41Yes, honey.
43:42Stay off the runway, as Brandon said.
43:45We did it.
43:48The winner of tonight's challenge brought a huge smile to all of our faces.
43:53The winner is...
43:58Victor.
44:00Thank you, thank you, thank you.
44:02How does it feel, Victor?
44:04I just want to say thank you so much for your advice last challenge.
44:08We were all impressed.
44:09Truly commendable.
44:11Congratulations, you deserve this win.
44:13And Victor, you also won a prize.
44:16What?
44:17The favorite toys of any designer.
44:19An industrial sewing machine, an industrial serger.
44:23What?
44:24A full-on singer suite of toys.
44:27Oh, my God.
44:29You have earned it.
44:31Praja, you are also in, and a special congratulations to both of you
44:35for really, really executing against this assignment.
44:38We loved your outfit.
44:39It was so special and so creative.
44:43Well done.
44:44Well done.
44:48You won?
44:49No, girl.
44:50Victor.
44:55Come back, bitch.
44:58Mila, Laurence, and Rami.
45:02Unfortunately, unconventional materials were not your friend tonight.
45:07And you all missed the mark for different reasons.
45:11Rami, you are in.
45:18You may leave the runway.
45:20For such a fun challenge, this is the part that's not fun for any of us.
45:24One of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
45:29Laurence, we didn't see you in this design,
45:33and ultimately it just felt uninspired.
45:38Mila, your skirt and top lacked a point of view
45:43and ultimately just didn't feel finished in the end.
45:46But one of you has to go home tonight.
45:54Laurence, you are in.
46:02Thank you for giving me a second chance.
46:04Please, please show us who you are.
46:07I will.
46:08Thank you so much.
46:12Mila, I'm so sorry, but that means, unfortunately, tonight you are out.
46:19I wish I could have given you a chance to see me get back on track.
46:22Thank you, Mila, for being here.
46:24You may leave the runway.
46:25Thanks for the experience.
46:28Leaving the runway feels really surreal.
46:31I really did think that I was going to be safe.
46:34Girl!
46:36Mila!
46:39It just feels too early to go.
46:41Don't cry for me, baby.
46:42I am going to because I've looked up to you for a long time.
46:46I love you guys.
46:47You know how much I appreciate you.
46:51Just one more time.
46:53Hi.
46:54Mila, I think you're so talented, chic, sophisticated.
46:59This is like, you know, the most feared challenge.
47:02At least there was a little bit of joy in it, you know?
47:04For sure.
47:05But we'll see you again, I know.
47:08It's really hard to leave that room full of awesome people.
47:13I wanted to come back to Project Runway All Stars,
47:16not only to push myself and make things again,
47:20but also just to show the world who I am.
47:25I don't really think I had enough time to do that.
47:33Next on Project Runway All Stars.
47:35Oh my God!
47:37Lana is the king.
47:39Oh my goodness.
47:41We want you to create a formal gown fit for royalty.
47:45So we're dividing you up into teams of two.
47:47It is looking medieval costume.
47:51I mean...
47:52It's getting a little icy.
47:53I am kind of stumped of what to say.
47:55It feels wilted. It feels sad and heavy.
