I spent only one day in Capri but I saw plenty and it was a refreshing respite from the chaos of Naples.

Capri is a picturesque island in Italy’s Bay of Naples, famed for its rugged cliffs, turquoise waters, and charming villages. Popular since Roman times, it was once a retreat for Emperor Tiberius. Today, it draws visitors with its natural beauty, upscale shopping, and historic sites. The island’s highlights include the Blue Grotto, a sea cave glowing with reflected light, and the scenic town of Anacapri. Despite its small size, Capri offers a rich blend of culture, nature, and luxury. It’s a favourite getaway for celebrities, travellers, and anyone seeking a taste of the Italian dolce vita.

Capri is the sort of place where you half expect a Roman emperor to sidle up beside you and order a spritz. Perched jauntily in the Bay of Naples, this absurdly scenic island is equal parts myth, glamour, and steep incline. It has cliffs that plunge dramatically into sapphire seas, gardens that look like they were arranged by cherubs on holiday, and shops so expensive they require a second mortgage just to window shop. Tourists swarm in by the ferry-load to gawk at the Blue Grotto — a sea cave that glows like a celestial swimming pool — and to trudge uphill in search of the perfect lemon-scented breeze. Capri has hosted everyone from Tiberius to Jackie O, and it still struts like it knows it. Frankly, it’s hard not to love a place that’s equal parts geological marvel and fashion runway, even if your wallet leaves feeling a little faint.
