Shanghai Disneyland is the most recent of the 6 Disney resorts and opened in 2016. The site is in Pudong to the south of Shanghai’s city centre.
Construction of Shanghai Disney involved more than 100,000 workers and took a little over 5 years. The themed lands within the park are Adventure Isle, Gardens of Imagination, Mickey Avenue, Tomorrowland, Treasure Cove and Fantasyland. Toy Story Land and the City of Zootopia have been added since the park opened. Shanghai Disneyland is connected to the rest of the city by Shanghai Metro’s Line 11. It will also be connected to other areas of Shanghai including Pudong Airport, Hongqiao Airport and Hongqiao railway station when the Airport Link Line opens at the end of 2024. The park hosted more than 14 million visitors in 2023 which makes it the 5th most visited them park in the world.
