00:03I wish I did.
00:06If your country offered the United States Air Force a plane, I would take it.
00:10From publicly pressurizing Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky in February 2025
00:14to cornering South Africa's Cyril Ramaphosa in May 2025,
00:18Donald Trump's Oval Office has turned into a stage for ambushing world leaders.
00:22These are articles over the last few days.
00:25Death of people. Death. Death. Death. Horrible death. Death.
00:37Did Trump accuse South Africa of committing white genocide?
00:41And is there any truth to that explosive claim?
00:44Here's the thing.
00:45Trump entered the meeting with South Africa president armed with videos and clippings.
00:49He claimed that white South African farmers were being slaughtered,
00:52forced off their land in what he called an ongoing genocide.
00:55Trump also mentioned that the US had received a plane with 49 African refugees.
01:00He claimed they were granted asylum because they were losing their land in South Africa
01:04and were targets of genocide.
01:06But is that really true?
01:07Let's be clear, white genocide is not a new term.
01:10It's a white nationalistic conspiracy theory.
01:13It suggests that there's a deliberate plan to wipe out the white populations
01:16through things like mass immigration, forced assimilation or violent attacks.
01:20These ideas have been popular in far-right circles for decades, especially online.
01:25Here are the facts.
01:26South Africa does have the world's highest murder rates.
01:29About 72 people are killed every day in a country of 60 million.
01:33But most of the victims? Black South Africans.
01:36In 2024, South African police recorded over 26,000 murders.
01:40Only 44 were linked to farming communities.
01:43And of those, just 8 victims were white farmers.
01:46There are roughly 2.7 million white Africaners in South Africa, descended mostly from Dutch
01:51and French settlers.
01:52That's about 4.5% of the population.
01:55In contrast, nearly 80% of South Africans are black.
01:58For decades, the country was under apartheid rule, a brutal system of racial segregation
02:03where white South Africans held all political and economic power.
02:06And earlier this year, the Western Cape High Court in South Africa ruled on this very issue.
02:11They stated clearly, the claims of white genocide are imagined, not real.
02:16The court even blocked a proposed donation to a white supremacist group,
02:19calling the genocide theory false and harmful.
02:21So why is Trump making these claims?
02:23Critics say it's a political strategy firing up a base that's already primed with fear and conspiracy.
02:29Death, death, death, horrible death.
