South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stole the spotlight with a sharply delivered remark that left world leaders—and social media—buzzing. In what appeared to be a cheeky jab at the recent headlines around Qatar gifting a private jet to Donald Trump, Ramaphosa quipped during a diplomatic exchange: “I don’t even have a plane to give!”

The unexpected comment, made in Trump's presence, was met with laughter and raised eyebrows at the high-level event. While Qatar’s controversial gesture drew criticism and praise across political lines, Ramaphosa’s unfiltered response added a bold twist to the narrative.

00:00I don't have a plane to give you.
00:02I wish you did. I would take it.
00:05If your country offered the United States Air Force a plan, I would take it.
00:09Including, of course, trade matters, investment matters.
00:12So the issues that concern you as the United States,
00:17criminology that we are experiencing in our country needs quite a lot of technological capability.
00:25I don't have a plane to give you.
00:27I wish you did. I would take it.
00:30If your country offered the United States Air Force a plan, I would take it.
00:34Okay. But coming back to this issue, which I really would like us to talk about,
00:39and talk about it very calmly.
00:42We were taught by Nelson Mandela that whenever there are problems,
00:47people need to sit down around a table and talk about that.
00:51Well, there are problems.
00:52And this is precisely what we would also like to talk about,
00:55including, of course, trade matters, investment matters.
00:58So the issues that concern you as the United States...
01:03Those are all recent. Those are all deaths.
01:05Yeah. In many ways, I mean, one should say you are a partner,
01:10partner of South Africa, and you are raising concerns.
01:14And these are concerns that we are willing to talk to you about.
01:19Let me just add quickly.
01:21You know, the criminology that we are experiencing in our country needs quite a lot of technological capability.
01:32And in one of our areas in South Africa, we are using U.S. technology,
01:38which is able to, in many ways, identify where shootings are happening and all that.
01:44And I want to talk about that, because there is support that we can get from you in the United States
01:51to help us deal with all these acts of criminality.
01:54And that is what I believe partnership is all about.
01:57And we are here as a partner so that we can help each other whenever there are challenges.
02:05So I'd like us to discuss it.
02:07And, of course, outside of the media so that we sit down and have a really good discussion
02:13that will lead to good outcomes.
