Today's contestants are Vince & Jane Foot from West Suffolk, Christine & Barry Halloran from Edinburgh, Heather Garnish & Graham Stewart from Hertfordshire, and Alf & Natalie Sorkins from Dorset. Bruce Forsyth hosts and Rosemary Ford assists, and among the contestants one has an unusual phobia, another tells how he got "plastered" at his wedding and one woman is in for a shock! The games today are "Karate Party", "Xmas Windows" (spray decorating), "Nurses Hat" (does exactly what it says on the tin), and "Have a Ball", a tricky game where they have to guess the sportsman's voice to their sport. The finale sees the remaining two teams compete in a Me and My Shadow dance off, with Gary Wilmot (whatever happened to him?) as guest judge to see who will go through to the conveyor belt of prizes.

00:31Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, very kind.
00:34Thank you. Thank you so much.
00:38Thank you very much. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen and children.
00:41Welcome to the Generation Game. Nice to see you. To see you...
00:45Nice!
00:46And I'll tell you something, I didn't think I would be seeing you after what happened to me this morning.
00:52What happened?
00:53Well, ask me.
00:55Ask me what happened this morning.
00:58Well, come on, come on, get together. Get together.
01:02When I say, one, two, three, you all say, what happened this...
01:06Hold on, I was here, one, two, three, come on!
01:09One, two, three, and you say, what happened this morning.
01:12Okay, one, two, three...
01:14What happened this morning?
01:16Mind your own business, I don't...
01:19We'll keep this lot in, I think they're a bit gullible.
01:22If we ever get an intelligent audience in here, I've had it, I tell you that.
01:26But I'm still going to do my opening joke.
01:28You've been waiting for this, haven't you?
01:32It's about the short-sighted tortoise, during the mating season,
01:36it dragged the bowler hat behind the coal shed.
01:41That was it.
01:43Well, goodnight, and I hope you enjoyed the show.
01:46Oh, sorry, I didn't say goodnight to Rosemary, did I?
01:49Eh? What? Oh, I didn't say good evening to her.
01:52Oh, well, doesn't time fly when you're dying.
01:54Right!
01:57Here's a little love that makes life worthwhile,
02:02the lovely Rosemary Falls.
02:04There we are.
02:17My little brown-eyed beauty, I hope you've had a pleasant week.
02:20Yes, I really have. I went to the christening of one of my cousin's children.
02:24Oh, how very nice.
02:25Yeah, it was a little boy, and she named it after her father.
02:29Oh, is he calling her a baby grandad?
02:32No.
02:34Listen, her father used to be a footballer.
02:36Oh, I know the church that held the christening.
02:40You do?
02:41Yeah, All Saints and Gravesy.
02:44It was really nice to meet some of my relatives I hadn't seen for years,
02:47because, you know, they're just scattered all over the country.
02:50So I've heard, strange ways, all the way.
02:54That's not true.
02:55It is true.
02:57It is true about you.
03:00She always says true.
03:03I was a godmother.
03:04Oh, you were a godmother?
03:05Oh, well, in that case, in case you turn me into a pumpkin,
03:08you'd better introduce the teams.
03:10Our first team's from West Sussex,
03:12their father-in-law and daughter-in-law,
03:14Vince and Jane Foote.
03:16There we are.
03:24Thank you for being here.
03:27Now then, it's Jane Foote.
03:29Yes.
03:30Any middle name at all?
03:31Melody.
03:32Melody?
03:33Yes.
03:34Melody Foote?
03:35Yes.
03:36Oh, lovely.
03:37What do you put in your shoes?
03:38Odor eaters or a packet of tubes?
03:41I've heard of your feet humming a bit, but never a whole melody.
03:45You're married to Jason, is he here?
03:47Yes, he is.
03:48Jason, are you here?
03:49There he is.
03:50We're in the front row there.
03:51Hello, Jason.
03:52Come on, everybody, let's give a big hand to Mr Foote.
03:59I won't do any more foot jabs.
04:01I won't do any more foot jabs.
04:02All your life you're sick of them, yes.
04:04How long have you been married, by the way?
04:0518 months.
04:06Are you going to have any little feet?
04:10Sorry, I said I wouldn't, right.
04:12Now, have you any phobias?
04:14Oh, yes, there was something about...
04:16Foam.
04:17Foam?
04:18Foam. I can't bear to touch it or to see it.
04:20No, Rosie, come on, I mean...
04:22Do you mean...
04:23Honestly?
04:24No, I don't.
04:25Really?
04:26No, I don't.
04:27Well, stand with your mouth open.
04:30I won't give it to you.
04:31I mean, wouldn't you rather just hold him,
04:33close your eyes and think it's a bar of air?
04:35No.
04:37Well, I mean, I love foam, don't you?
04:39I mean...
04:45I see what you mean.
04:48Anyway, over now to your dad, Vincent Foot.
04:51Yes.
04:52Fine, right.
04:53And I won't do any more foot jokes, OK?
04:55Your occupation is?
04:57I look after the Chichester District Council Community Alarm.
05:02We supply payments for elderly and disabled people.
05:05Oh, for elderly and disabled.
05:06Oh, a very worthy job.
05:07Oh, that's very nice.
05:08And you're married to Brenda for 27 years.
05:11Can you tell us something about your engagement night?
05:14Oh, we went to the first Chinese restaurant in Chichester at the time.
05:17Yes, yes.
05:18And we were... It was absolutely packed.
05:20Oh, I bet the second Chinese restaurant wasn't very thrilled.
05:25Go on, say what happened.
05:26We were going to have this romantic dinner.
05:28Oh, you were.
05:29And I was going to have a loving cup and slip the ring on her finger.
05:33That's a good place, actually, for engagement.
05:35I know.
05:36A Chinese restaurant.
05:37You can whisper sweet and sour nothings in each other.
05:40Just a thought.
05:41Yeah.
05:42So what happened?
05:43Well, I was very shy and innocent in those days.
05:45Yes.
05:46And I slipped the ring under the table and whispered in her ear,
05:49here, put this on your finger.
05:50No, was that it?
05:51That's right.
05:52Under the table?
05:53Under the table.
05:54Well, I mean, it could have been a bean sprout.
05:57Maybe a crispy noodle or something.
06:00God, but that wasn't very romantic, was it?
06:03Now then, something happened at the wedding night?
06:05Brenda fell out of bed.
06:08Now, I don't want to know why.
06:10We don't want to know why.
06:12Yes, all we know is something was definitely afoot.
06:18Sorry, I said I wouldn't do it anyway.
06:20Lovely to meet you.
06:21Sorry about the foam.
06:22No.
06:23There's no foam games.
06:24Good.
06:25You don't have to take a bath or anything.
06:26OK, over you go there.
06:27Nice people.
06:31Tell me, I don't like the foam.
06:32What is the matter?
06:34Now, who are they going to play against?
06:36Our second team's from Edinburgh.
06:38Their mother and son, Christine and Barry Halloran.
06:49Nice to meet you.
06:50And how are you?
06:51Good, good.
06:52Now then, you're Christine Halloran.
06:54What do you do?
06:56I work for the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
06:58Oh, that's right, yes, I've got it here.
06:59And what does that entail?
07:01I manage a number of training centres for people who've been mentally ill to get them back into it.
07:05Oh, we've got some worthy people on the show tonight.
07:07That's lovely to do that.
07:09And before that you were...
07:10Oh, you were six years in a distillery?
07:12Yes.
07:13Oh, I thought I had a good job.
07:16Tell me, in the distillery, did you work staggered hours?
07:21Oh, I just saw that myself.
07:24Oh, I made myself laugh.
07:28It's possible.
07:30And you play a little piano.
07:32Yes.
07:33How big is it?
07:35This size.
07:37Oh, that may be little to you.
07:38To Ronnie Corbett, that'd be a concert grand.
07:41I tell you.
07:42And you have any other musical talent?
07:45Well, I can play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the violin.
07:48Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the violin.
07:50Did you bring it with you?
07:51No.
07:52Oh, good.
07:56I hate that song.
08:00I hate that song.
08:01Right, mind you don't knock yourself out with those earrings.
08:04They look lethal to me, lethal.
08:06Over now to your son, isn't it, Barry Halloran?
08:09You're a student at London University, reading English and drama.
08:13During your holidays, you work in a West End theatre box office.
08:16Oh, really?
08:17You have a girlfriend, Linda.
08:18What does she do?
08:19She works in the box office of the theatre museum.
08:22Oh, does she really?
08:23So you both work in box office?
08:25Yeah.
08:26Oh, fine.
08:27How many performances do you manage to do together?
08:31I don't know, isn't it?
08:33Twice on Saturdays.
08:35Oh, it needs to be that nice.
08:38All right, now you were, you do something in amateur dramatics, is that right?
08:43There was one time.
08:44One time, yes.
08:45Yeah, when I was in a play, and I was playing a bit of a Casanova,
08:49and I had to seduce this woman on the sofa.
08:52On the sofa? Oh, yeah, good part.
08:54And then a snuff box went everywhere,
08:55and we started sneezing and rolling about on the floor together.
08:58Were there real snuff in the snuff?
08:59Oh, yes.
09:00But then the only small problem with that was that the young girl was...
09:05her.
09:08You played the whole seduction scene with your mother?
09:11Christine?
09:13Oh, dear, oh, dear.
09:14How many turned up for the audition?
09:16I mean...
09:19They were desperate.
09:20No, I'm just...
09:22Anyway, thank you very much for being here.
09:23That's really lovely of you.
09:25OK, over you, Pop, over there,
09:26because we've got a game coming up straight now.
09:28Nicely.
09:29Nicely.
09:32Now...
09:34Before our first game, I'd just like to point out
09:36that our contestants have no idea what we have planned for them.
09:40They do not rehearse.
09:42This is their rehearsal.
09:44Now, we're ready for our first game, which is called Karate Party.
09:48Please welcome some of the members of the senior and junior England Karate Squad.

11:35Well, now, this whole thing you've done, this demonstration,
11:38is it just the limbering up routine, Tiki?
11:40No, every movement means it's an attack or defence.
11:43Oh, really?
11:44All those other little things?
11:45Punching, blocking, blocking, grabbing the wrist, twisting out of it.
11:48All that was an actual part of karate.
11:50Well, that's for you.
11:51Now, it makes a change for us to take a sport from another country
11:54and to come out of it the best.
11:56That's right.

30:15All right, sorry to do that to you.
30:16And you are Alf?
30:17Sorkin.
30:18Eh?
30:19proceso!
30:20Oh, you've got...
30:21Oh, you've got Sorkin?
30:22You've got sorkins as well. You've got a name in front of the father, yeah, fine, shame.
30:26What do you do?
30:28I work for an engineering company in the Midlands. I'm a sales manager.
30:31Oh, a sales manager, and you're married to Kathleen?
30:33Yeah.
30:34Tell us about the wedding.
30:35Three weeks before we got married...
30:37Yes.
30:38...a die, a tool at work, fell on me foot and it broke me toe.
30:42Oh, it broke your toe?
30:43And I got married with me toe implaster.
30:45Oh. Shut up!
30:48I think from those eyes, I mean, shut up!
30:52And the best man's telegram...
30:54Yeah, the best man's telegram.
30:55...read, now that Alfie's toes implaster, perhaps tonight he'll go much faster.
31:08I'm so glad you came along.
31:10I'm sorry about Friday. You forgive us.
31:13But Anthony, you have a drink with Anthony afterwards.
31:16Thank you for being here. Nice couple. There they are.
31:23Oh, dear. Big toe implaster.
31:25Right, now, our next game is called, funnily enough, Nurse's Hat.
31:28We could have called it Naval Nurse's Hat,
31:30because we'd now like you to welcome leading naval nurse, Liz Bryant.
31:42Good to meet you.
31:43Now then, Liz, how long have you been in the Navy?
31:45Forty years.
31:46Forty years. That's a long time.
31:48What made you sort of... Was it the only thing you wanted to do?
31:50I always wanted to go into nursing.
31:51Into nursing, I see. And how long more are you going to do?
31:54Oh, 22 maybe. I don't know.
31:5622? You're going to sign on for the 22?
31:58I might do.
31:59You might sign on for the 22 years.
32:00Well, they need you. Nurses are needed everywhere in the world.
32:03So come over here and show us what you're going to do.
32:06Because you're not properly dressed at the moment, are you?
32:08Correct.
32:09So will you come over here? Get in nice and close so you can see everything that's going on.
32:13And it's going to be a nurse's hat.
32:16Certainly is.
32:17Right. So in your own words, away you go.
32:19Okay.
32:20Now watch this carefully.
32:21Open it up fully. Start from the front where the prostates are.
32:24Fold it towards you.
32:26Hold it down nice and tightly.
32:28Take hold of the middle.
32:30And let the centre fold.
32:32The centre fold's pressed in tightly.
32:34And this slides under this clamp.
32:36This is for demonstration purposes only.
32:38Normally we'd have somebody hold it for us.
32:40Oh, would you? Yes.
32:41Well, I could have done that, dear.
32:42You could have done that?
32:43Yes, I could have done that.
32:45I'm only here to help.
32:46But there you are. You're using the clamp instead.
32:49Starting with the first pleat, go to the corners.
32:52Pick up the corners and fold in towards the middle.
32:55Ah, I see.
32:56You're not getting underneath?
32:57No. Underneath to keep it neat?
32:59Keep it underneath at the same time.
33:00Again, in there. Ah, that's very good.
33:02On top and underneath again.
33:04Those two pleats that have been dropped, pick up.
33:07Oh, you go back on those sort of things.
33:09You actually go back on them.
33:10Go back on them, yes.
33:11And how many folds do you do altogether?
33:13We have seven in total.
33:14Seven? Seven seams.
33:15Oh, for the seven seams.
33:16Yes.
33:17Well, that's good to know. I didn't know that.
33:19It has to be very...
33:20Very well starched.
33:21Very well starched it has to be.
33:23And then you get a bit of sort of body in it.
33:25Out the clamp.
33:27That's it.
33:28See the way it's taking shape now?
33:29Isn't it lovely?
33:30This is the front pleat.
33:31And the seventh fold.
33:33Oh.
33:34Go through the folds.
33:35That's the big safety pin goes in there.
33:37Okay, everybody.
33:38Go through the top.
33:39See that?
33:40Nice big safety pin.
33:41We pull our sides around.
33:43Towards the front of the hat.
33:45And you put that in with just a...
33:46And that's secured with an ordinary sewing pin.
33:48Just an ordinary sewing pin goes in there.
33:50And I suppose the other side...
33:52And the opposite side is exactly the same.
33:54Uh-huh.
33:55And then we fold the back towards us.
33:56It is so neat.
33:58Oh, that comes back there.
34:00Yep.
34:01Everyone to the corners.
34:02Keep towards us.
34:03And that's secured in place with a hair grip.
34:07Ah, just the hair grip, the last one.
34:10Uh-huh.
34:11Now, can we...
34:12Now, can we see if it fits?
34:14See what it sort of looks like on you.
34:16See if it really works.
34:17There we go.
34:18And there we are.
34:19Now, isn't that lovely?
34:20Look at it.
34:21All the way around.
34:24Brilliant.
34:25Absolutely.
34:26Thank you very much indeed.
34:28All right, now, if you'll just come...
34:29Will you come back and do some marking?
34:30I will do, sir.
34:31And they're going to have a go at it.
34:32So, come over here, my darling.
34:33Over to your table.
34:34You get to the far one, will you?
34:36That's it.
34:37There we are.
34:38You just stay there.
34:40Right, you're all ready now.
34:41You have about a minute and a half, starting from then.
34:49That's it.
34:50Remember the start, the way she did it at the start.
34:55Don't forget the clamp.
34:56That's it.
35:04Aren't you glad you came, Heather?
35:06Don't worry.
35:10Concentrate.
35:11Think.
35:12Think of those pleats.
35:14Think of seven folds.
35:15You must have seven folds, or try to get as many folds as possible.
35:19The safety pin should be going in now, if you're anywhere near to a time on this.
35:28If you're satisfied with the folds, the safety pin, you've got to put it in.
35:33Are you doing any better now, Heather?
35:35I'm trying.
35:36Oh, not bad.
35:37It's not bad at all, dear.
35:39Don't worry.
35:40Get that pin right the way through.
35:42Can't you get it through?
35:44What a big, strong man like you.
35:48So, don't forget those other pins you've got to get in.
35:52Oh, you got it through at last.
35:54Well done.
35:55Hey!
35:56You're going through there.
36:02So, finishing touches now.
36:03Don't forget two ordinary pins, and then a hair grip.
36:08Okay?
36:14Time's up.
36:15Okay?
36:16All you've got to do is stop and put it on the table.
36:18Just put it on the table and stand by your tables.
36:21Okay, Liz?
36:22Will you come back and try and sort this out?
36:24He got in a terrible state trying to get the pin.
36:27He broke these two pins trying to get it in there, but what do you think?
36:31He got the hang of it in the end.
36:32Yes.
36:33It's the two outside ones.
36:34He was trying to get it.
36:35You were trying to get it through the seven.
36:37It's impossible to get through the seven.
36:38He's actually done very well there.
36:39But, what do you think?
36:40He's got one side round and we've got quite a few pleats as well.
36:42And his pleats actually are very nice.
36:44Very good.
36:45Very neat pleats.
36:46Very good.
36:47Okay?
36:48So, what do you think?
36:49We'll go for an eight there, I think.
36:51An eight?
36:52Very good.
36:53Well done.
36:54Now, can we just see what goes on?
36:57Well, oh yeah, with a grip, with a grip.
37:00It'll be quite nice.
37:02Okay, that's all right.
37:04Now, over here, if you will, Heather.
37:07Now, which way up is this supposed to be?
37:10There's no...
37:11You haven't got the crossed As.
37:12You haven't got the crossed As, you see.
37:14And what do the crossed As mean?
37:15They mean...
37:16That's Queen Alexander's emblem.
37:17Emblem.
37:18There we are.
37:19Two As.
37:20But you see, you haven't got it showing.
37:21So the As are not...
37:22And it's...
37:23She's got a...
37:24You've got folds, haven't you?
37:25Oh, she's got some folds.
37:26One, two, three.
37:27Yes.
37:28Yeah, not bad, actually.
37:29That will actually stay on as well, won't it?
37:30It would stay on.
37:31What do you think, though?
37:32I think we'll go for a seven, because those folds are actually quite good.
37:33And we've got all the pins in both sides.
37:34Yes, you did.
37:35And the folds are quite good.
37:36Let's see.
37:37Look at that.
37:38It fits!
37:39It fits!
37:40It fits!
37:41It fits!
37:42It fits!
37:43It fits!
37:44It fits!
37:45It fits!
37:46It fits!
37:48It fits!
37:49It fits!
37:50It fits!
37:51It fits!
37:52It fits!
37:53Well done!
37:54An Eight and a Seven.
37:55Now, what about over here?
37:56Now, she's got a...
37:58Is this a Duncey's cat?
37:59She doesn't have a concord, yeah,
38:01but at least we've got the two As at the front.
38:05We've got the dress dates at the front,
38:06and we've got some pleats as well.
38:07Some pleats, but why are they going up that way?
38:09I don't know.
38:10I don't know, either.
38:11Do you know?
38:12No.
38:13We've got a pin.
38:14We've got a pin there.
38:15At the bottom.
38:16Yeah.
38:17I don't know where it's supposed to go. I think we'd have to go for a six. A six for that.
38:21Yes, all right.
38:23And you went a bit similar as well. Look at this. It runs in the family. They've both got sore kins, you see.
38:28Oh, it's up there.
38:30I think it's beginning to show, the sore kins.
38:32But he got a pin in. He's got quite a lot of pins in.
38:34He got quite a lot of pleats, which is good.
38:36And he got the hair grip in.
38:38And, er...
38:40He got a fold in the front with the crossed A's.
38:42He got a fold in the front with the crossed A's, so...
38:44I think we'd go for another six.
38:46Six for that one. OK.
38:48I think that's fair.
38:50Thank you so much.
38:52Thank you for spending a day with us.
38:54Thank you, Miss Black.
39:04Points on the board, Miss Ford.
39:06Heather and Graham have scored 15.
39:08Alf and Natalie have scored 12.
39:1012. All three points to them.
39:12Lots of points to be made.
39:14Now, our fourth game is called Have a Ball.
39:16Now, you'll be hearing the voices of some famous sportsmen.
39:20One of you will write down the name of the sportsman's voice.
39:24And the other one will hold up the ball you think applies to that sport.
39:28OK?
39:30So, which one of you two is good at listening to the voices and writing down?
39:34I'll hold up the ball.
39:36Eh? I'll hold up the ball.
39:38Don't you overdo it, will you?
39:40Don't you overdo it, will you?
39:42And he drives the engine.
39:44Right.
39:46So, are you any good at...
39:48No.
39:50This is going to be... Can you have this team, Rosie?
39:52OK.
39:54Who's going to write down the name of the...
39:56You're going to write down the name of the sportsman
39:58and you'll hold up the ball. OK, then.
40:00Get your lecterns and the other two get round the back.
40:02Get round the back there.
40:04Get round the back of the ball.
40:06Get round the back.
40:09Good. Now, are we ready?
40:11Could we have the first famous sportsman, please?
40:14About 21 days.
40:16We've got 700km to do.
40:1821 days.
40:20It varies from 10km on a very short day
40:22right up to 50km on the last day.
40:25Pick up the ball, you think, that sportsman.
40:28No, no, you mustn't look at him.
40:30For goodness sake.
40:32Face the front. Make sure you face the front as well.
40:34Write down who you think it is.
40:36It's a cricket ball, anyway.
40:38OK. Have you got a name down there? You have.
40:40OK, let's see who it was.
40:43Ian Botham it was.
40:45Ian Botham. You've got an answer over there?
40:47Yes, we have. We've written down Nigel Mansell.
40:53Well, he doesn't play with balls when he's got...
40:58And what have you got there? You've got a cricket ball.
41:00Hey!
41:02Well done, my dear.
41:05You get two points for that.
41:06Two points for a right name and two points for the ball.
41:09That's great.
41:10We've still got Goodhue here.
41:12What was the M for, by the way?
41:13I thought his name was Michael.
41:15You thought his name was Michael Goodhue.
41:17I'm sorry.
41:18Yeah, bad luck, bad luck.
41:20And he's got a tennis goal here, hasn't he?
41:24And he's the driver.
41:27OK, so nine points for that.
41:29Could we have the next voice, please?
41:31Well, it's not a good idea not to bring them
41:33because you miss them so much.
41:34And then there's a complication of bringing them
41:36because people are all over us, you know,
41:38we want to go for a walk in the park
41:40and there's people, paparazzi following us
41:42and you don't get to enjoy London the way other people do
41:45when they come on a visit.
41:46You recognise the voice?
41:48Well, have a guess, have a guess.
41:54I shouldn't have played this.
41:56Have you got an answer over there?
41:57Yes.
41:58You've got an answer? Yes.
41:59Have you got a name?
42:00Yes, fine.
42:01Yes, fine. Oh, good, marvellous.
42:03Well done, yeah, well done.
42:04Right, can we see who it was?
42:06It was John McEnroe.
42:09OK, now what did you have over there?
42:11John McEnroe.
42:12John McEnroe, good.
42:13APPLAUSE
42:15Four points for the winner, four points.
42:19We've got John Smith.
42:22LAUGHTER
42:25LAUGHTER
42:28We've got an American...
42:29At least it's an American football.
42:31Hey, what about that?
42:33An American football,
42:34but of course it should have been a tennis ball.
42:36Bad luck, Graham, yes.
42:38So could we have the next, please?
42:41It's nice to get home when you're staying in hotels
42:43for maybe two or three weeks on end.
42:45To get home and just relax is tremendous
42:48because you're stuck in a room for three weeks
42:50and it gets very dull
42:51and you don't know what to do with yourself.
42:55LAUGHTER
42:58Very good, very good.
43:00I'm proud of you.
43:02Right, OK, let's see who it was.
43:06It's Stephen Hendry.
43:09OK, what have you got over there?
43:11Stephen Hendry.
43:12Stephen Hendry and a snooker ball.
43:14APPLAUSE
43:19We've got Peter Smith.
43:22LAUGHTER
43:25John's brother.
43:28And he's got a golf ball.
43:30LAUGHTER
43:32Lovely, I like to be at his fire station.
43:34Right, OK, can we have the next one?
43:36How long's this game going on?
43:38If I'm playing against a guy,
43:40that's a nice feeling to have.
43:42I know he's looking at me and hopefully he knows,
43:44well, he's a tough cookie.
43:47A tough cookie.
43:50Recognise the voice?
43:52Yeah.
43:55LAUGHTER
43:57We've already had tennis.
43:59LAUGHTER
44:04Can you imagine what the rest of the crew looks like?
44:07LAUGHTER
44:09Right, OK.
44:11LAUGHTER
44:13That'd be nice.
44:15OK, now then, let's see who it was.
44:18Nick Faldo, the world's number one golfer.
44:22Right, what have you got there?
44:24Nick Faldo.
44:25Nick Faldo and the golf ball.
44:27APPLAUSE
44:28Wonderful, you win four points a game.
44:31We've got...
44:33Smith and Jones.
44:35LAUGHTER
44:40Nobody else could have got out of this game the way you have.
44:44He's got the golf ball!
44:46CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
44:49Well done, Graham.
45:00It's a shame that you didn't know anything about sport,
45:03but what's on the board, Miss Ford?
45:05Heather and Graham have scored 17,
45:07Alf and Natalie have scored 26.
45:1026, yes. You've caught up that three points,
45:13but what a shame.
45:15Not being screwed, but if you don't know anything about sport,
45:18that was it, and you both didn't,
45:20and we thought most men do know a bit about sport.
45:22But anyway, sorry to lose you, but you've been marvellous fun,
45:25and some of those answers were great, OK?
45:27We'll get a Generation Game telephone for both of you,
45:30and thank you very much for being a part of our show.
45:32There we are, off you go down here, OK?
45:35There we are.
45:37And you two, let's remind ourselves
45:39that we will be playing in our grand final,
45:42and if we got a grand final for you,
45:45you'll be very glad to know, I'm sure,
45:47that it's a nice song-and-dance number,
45:50but a very relaxed one, a relaxed one, you know.
45:53One of my favourite... What are you doing at the back there?
45:56One of my favourite tempos, Shottish, you know what Shottish is?
46:00Four in a bar, one of them knocking, OK?
46:03The number is that evergreen number, me and my shadow.
46:07Lovely old number.
46:09Has my shadow arrived?
46:12APPLAUSE
46:18If I really had a shadow like that,
46:20my career would have been very different.
46:23I'll tell you that. You look marvellous, darling, great.
46:26Right.
46:28One, two, three, four.
46:30MUSIC PLAYS
46:38Me and my shadow
46:46Strolling down the avenue
46:51Me and my shadow
47:00Not a soul to tell my troubles to
47:07And when it's 12 o'clock
47:11We climb the stairs
47:16We'll never knock
47:20Cos nobody's there
47:24Just me and my shadow
47:33All alone and feeling
47:38Not a happy feeling
47:43All alone and feeling blue
47:54APPLAUSE
48:07Rosie without a shadow of a doubt.
48:10You were lovely, thank you so much.
48:12Get ready for the next one.
48:13OK, there we are, Phil.
48:15Now, the vital toss-up.
48:17Who's going to go first and who's going to go second?
48:20Here we are. Heads or tails, Christy?
48:22Tails.
48:23Here we are. It is...
48:24Tails.
48:25Tails. Right.
48:26Do you want to go first or second?
48:27First.
48:28First.
48:29First. Get it over with.
48:30Yes.
48:31First.
48:32OK, so does Barry want to get it over with?
48:34First.
48:35So over you go over there, and pop those into any kind of box.
48:38Any kind of box you can find, as long as it's a big one to get the two of them in it.
48:41Now, you stand at that little circle there.
48:45OK, now keep in on that line if you can, so that you can always be seen.
48:49And you keep on that line there, more or less, that side of Rosie, OK?
48:53Good luck for this.
48:54Here we go.

53:02Well, you all did absolutely marvellous, I must say.
53:07But to judge this, we have a very talented young man
53:10who's recently been playing in Carmen Jones at the Old Vic
53:13and before that had a huge success in Me and My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre.
53:18Here he is, Mr Gary Wilmot.
53:25How are you?

53:27I'm fine, thank you.
53:28Thank you for being here.
53:29Thank you very much.
53:30You know, I didn't see you in Me and My Girl.

53:33But I've heard so many things about it.
53:34It's a great show.

54:18and I think some of your steps, when he was saying point your toes,
54:21it was very reminiscent of the karate, Barry.
54:24But nevertheless...
54:25Me and my karate shadow.
