00:00And aside from your tour, you also have two dates in Liverpool coming up this summer.
00:04How are you feeling about those?
00:06Yeah, we're doing Radio 1 Big Weekend.
00:10That's in a few weeks, I think, in Sefton Park,
00:14which is actually like about half a mile that way from where I am right now.
00:20And so my kitchen's going to be like the backstage and I'll just walk up there.
00:25I take my little boy to the park all the time, right near there.
00:29So it's going to feel very, probably quite strange, but like also absolutely awesome.
00:35Like friends and family and Liverpool crowd, obviously for us, is great.
00:38And so really looking forward to that one.
00:40And then the crowning summer moment for us is going to be June the 19th.
00:48We're playing, I think it's called On the Waterfront,
00:51is what they're calling the theories of gigs.
00:53Like us, things playing on it.
00:56And yeah, but it's going to be a great few days of music.
01:00And yeah, we're headlining one of the nights.
01:02There's a load of other like Liverpool bands playing.
01:05I think Pale Waves are playing with us.
01:08And it's going to, it's literally, I don't know if you've been to that place before,
01:11but it's right on the Mersey, right by the Liver building on the waterfront.
01:17So, well, yeah, you would expect, you'd expect that given the name of the show.
01:22But absolutely like buzzed in for that one.
01:25Can't wait.
01:26Just fingers crossed for the weather.
01:29Fingers crossed for both of them.
01:31Actually, I'm going to BBC Big Weekend and I just know it's going to rain probably the whole time.
01:37May is usually pretty good.
01:39I mean, if it was like this, it's going to be just unbelievable.
01:42But also like growing up in the north of England, you just, you're used to the rain.
01:47You know, you can't let rain stop you having a good time and no one ever does.
01:51I remember going to Leeds Festival when I was 16 and I was in shorts and a t-shirt.
01:57It absolutely leathered down.
02:00The place was a mud bath and I had one of the best weekends ever.
02:03It was just like people having mud races and sliding down hills and, you know,
02:07you just make your own fun and crack on, don't you?
02:09Like no point going, oh, it's raining.
02:11You just get an umbrella if you need it.
02:14Just hop on in and get your wellies on.
02:17Definitely.
02:19Obviously, you're from Liverpool.
02:20The Wombats are from Liverpool.
02:21Does it feel different when you perform in Liverpool?
02:25Yeah, there's an added sense of occasion, I'd say, a little bit in the, like, again,
02:33family and friends who've been sort of supporting us, you know, from the beginning
02:36and all the memories we've got around the 50s from just myself and Murph's childhood,
02:42but also as a band.
02:44Like the first year we were a band, you know what it's like for bands starting out.
02:49You don't really play gigs outside your, like, hometown.
02:54So we played, like, everywhere around Liverpool.
02:57And all those memories come, like, you know, flooding back whenever we play Liverpool,
03:04to be honest.
03:05So it's got a little extra zing.
03:09So, yeah, it's going to be fun.
03:10So, yeah.
