Transcript
00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Now through the next few days there's going to be a marked contrast in temperature.
00:09Critical to this is the wind direction.
00:11High pressure still casting a strong influence on our weather,
00:15hence the reason why it's so dry through the next few days and there'll be a lot of sunshine around.
00:20But this wind's coming in from a cool direction, flowing over a chilly North Sea.
00:26So it's really along this eastern strip of Scotland as well as England.
00:29Temperatures won't be as high.
00:31West will be best in terms of that sunshine and those higher temperatures.
00:36Now through this evening any thunderstorms rumbling on will tend to fade away.
00:41Most places will be dry.
00:42But notice this low cloud just migrating across Scotland towards the northeast of England.
00:48So with this there's a possibility it could turn a bit damp in places where the clouds thick enough.
00:54This will keep temperatures up though 8 or 9 degrees Celsius.
00:57Probably around 6 where you see some clearer skies towards the northeast of Scotland.
01:0111 down towards the south.
01:03First thing then tomorrow morning, well it starts with a bit of cloud.
01:07Particularly across the central belt down towards Northumberland, Tynumweir and even east Yorkshire.
01:12But it is breaking up and you'll see that sun revealed as the cloud fades away.
01:17So a lovely afternoon to come for every part of the country.
01:22We'll see some fine weather, some sunshine.
01:25Any showers will be reserved for the far southwest of England and the Republic of Ireland.
01:31But generally speaking temperatures will come in around 21 to 24 degrees Celsius.
01:36Particularly across western Scotland, central and southeastern areas of England.
01:40But along this east coast, feeling cooler here, probably the mid-teens.
01:45Now through Wednesday evening and overnight, yet again we do have that breeze coming in from the north.
01:51So an onshore flow along eastern counties delivering that cloud into Thursday morning yet again.
01:58So it could be rather cloudy across the Midlands, eastern counties, some parts of eastern Scotland.
02:04Through the day though it will break up.
02:05Beautiful blue sky further west, temperatures really responding very nicely.
02:1022 would be your high.
02:12And here's your outlook through Friday.
02:14Not a lot of change.
02:15High pressure still with us for the end of the week.
02:17It's worth noting though, UV levels are likely to be high.
02:21I'll see you later.
