00:00Tonight's top story is that moisture-loaded storm that is unleashing all that heavy rain and those thunderstorms that are across parts of the southeast.
00:07Flash flooding, gusty winds, even isolated tornadoes are all possible from the Gulf Coast to the Carolinas.
00:12That same storm continues to push its way north, bringing drenching rain to parts of the mid-Atlantic and the Appalachians.
00:18Now, travelers along both I-81 and I-95 could see slowdowns, while areas like Philadelphia are going to get some much-needed rainfall.
00:25Let's take you out to Tampa, Florida to get started with the southeast.
00:28And this is an area where we're seeing a nice mix of the blue skies and the clouds, but you can tell it's stormy.
00:37Yeah, as you look off in this camera, you can definitely see some towering clouds out there.
00:42We will see some showers and storms, but overall, the good news is, at least for the west coast of Florida, things should be relatively calm.
00:47Overall, this is what we're tracking here for you. Let's take a broad view here of radar.
00:51Now, earlier this afternoon, about 30 minutes ago, we actually had a severe thunderstorm warning in northern parts of Montana.
00:57That has since been allowed to expire, so overall, most of the severe weather will now just continue across parts of the southeast.
01:03Let's go and take a closer look here at this region.
01:05And you can see that the overall storm motion for the area where we're tracking the strongest storms is going to be up to the north and a little bit to the northeast.
01:13This is all circulating around that same center of rotation with that low-pressure system that's making its way across parts of the southeast.
01:20But as of right now, it looks like we have, I'm going to freeze frame the radar, it looks like we have two severe thunderstorms, three severe thunderstorm warnings ongoing.
01:27Earlier, we had a tornado-warned storm there in parts of North Carolina.
01:31But the good news is, for Florida, no severe thunderstorms.
01:33As a matter of fact, most of the strong storms are working its way off the coast.
01:37But as of right now, the strongest storms are continuing here across parts of Georgia.
01:41Georgia is the only state where we have the severe thunderstorm warnings ongoing.
01:45I'm going to take the lightning off so you can actually see the overall intensity of the storms.
01:48So here for Georgia, Banks County, Georgia, Wheeler County in Georgia, and also there for Wayne County in Georgia, that's where we have the severe thunderstorm warnings ongoing.
01:57I also want to point out that even though this storm right here and this storm right here, even though those two particular storms aren't currently severe-warned,
02:04they will be producing some small hail possible and a lot of lightning.
02:07So heads up for that because we're not going to be done with the severe threat just yet here as we head throughout this afternoon and as we head into this evening.
02:14So let's go ahead and show you a broad view here of what we'll be tracking as far as the overall storm risks zone.
02:19This is an updated look at our Accuive-exclusive storm zone.
02:22And you can see that this will extend from parts of the southeast and a majority of the southeast coast, including all of southern parts of Florida.
02:30So satellite radar is showing lots of lightning, but the good news is most of the strong storms are working their way well offshore,
02:36even though we still have a couple of pockets of severe storms continuing here across parts of the southeast.
02:41Future track radar is showing that as we head into this evening, 8 to 9 o'clock here as the sun sets,
02:46we'll still be tracking a few isolated severe thunderstorms as possible, but most of the heavy rain will work its way off to the offshore.
02:53But Anna will also be watching out for some of those northern showers to continue to lift to the north that will bring some of that beneficial rainfall to parts of the northeast.
