00:00it's not often that you get to hang out with some giraffes on your back balcony
00:03but when we went to Jamala that's exactly what happened so as you check in
00:08you actually get this amazing high tea that fuels you ready to head out into the
00:12zoo to see what the animals are doing so this is what the zookeeper calls the
00:17ice cream truck effect because the zookeepers were with us the animals come
00:21out looking for food and enrichment and just some general love but you also get
00:26to get up close and personal with some of them so we got to feed the deer some
00:30carrot and some celery there and also see eco the one of the rhinos there and he
00:35gets a bit of a belly scratch because he's basically a two-ton puppy we then
00:40headed to our giraffe tree house and got settled in before saying hello to our
00:45backdoor neighbors so as part of the giraffe tree house you get to feed Sky
00:50and Kameese who are two of the giraffes here at the National Zoo and it's
00:55basically a once-in-a-lifetime chance or as many times that as you wanted to see
01:01stay at Jamala we then headed to a zookeeper talk with the hyenas and their
01:07bloodsicles and then also two of the white lions so Jake and Mishka are the two
01:13white lions here at the National Zoo they got some equine ribs so they didn't miss
01:18out either but then they also join you for dinner so while you're having your food
01:23they're also having a bit of a nap and a snooze along with the hyenas and you get
01:28to enjoy your amazing food we had a spatchcock and lamb ribs and some pavlova
01:36there which was delicious and then we said goodbye to our new lion friends who are
01:41still up and about
