Lorry driver believed 'high' on drugs crashes into two vehicles in Batang Kali

A tanker lorry driver, believed to be under the influence of drugs, crashed into a car before his heavy vehicle collided with another lorry coming from the opposite direction in an incident at KM39, Jalan Kuala Lumpur–Ipoh on Friday (May 2) .

Yunus said the accident occurred at around 4.35 p.m. and involved three vehicles, a car,

and the tanker driven by a 57-year-old suspect. Initial investigations revealed that the accident

began when the tanker rear-ended a car driven by a local woman who was travelling from Selayang

to Batangkali. The tanker then lost control and veered into the opposite lane,

side-swiping a trailer coming from the other direction. Fortunately, no one was injured in the

incident. However, a urine test later confirmed that the tanker driver tested positive for

methamphetamine. Further checks also revealed that the suspect has a criminal record, including

five prior drug-related offences and 32 traffic violations. The case is being investigated under
