00:00Police have arrested a personal driver who crashed into an oncoming vehicle
00:05while under the influence of methamphetamine in Kluang on Friday evening.
00:10Kluang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohamed Noh said the 40-year-old suspect
00:15was arrested at 6.30am the next day after testing positive for methamphetamine.
00:22The man had been driving from Taman Shri Kluang toward Kluang Town
00:26when he suddenly veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with another vehicle.
00:31The suspect was uninjured, but the other driver, a 36-year-old businessman,
00:36suffered hand injuries and complained of abdominal pain.
00:40The suspect was brought to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division
00:43at the Kluang Police Headquarters for drug testing, which confirmed methamphetamine use.
00:49A background check revealed the suspect had three prior drug-related cases and a criminal record.
00:54The case is being investigated under Section 44, Subsection 1, Subsection A
01:00of the Road Transport Act, 1987 for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
01:06and Section 15, Subsection 1, Subsection A of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952
01:13for self-administering dangerous drugs.
