A man who had stopped to assist a motorcyclist involved in a crash was killed after being hit by a car driven by a man under the influence of alcohol.

Seri Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the fatal incident took place at around 2.10am on Saturday (April 12) at KM16 of Jalan Johor Baru–Kota Tinggi.

00:23The initial accident involved a motorcycle ridden by a man believed to be a Myanmar national
00:29who lost control of his vehicle and skidded along the right lane.
00:33He suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
00:37A local man who witnessed the crash stopped to offer help and began directing traffic
00:42to prevent further accidents while waiting for emergency services.
00:46However, as he was assisting at the scene, a car driven by a 25-year-old man rammed into him.
00:53The impact caused fatal internal injuries and he too was pronounced dead at the scene.
01:00The driver, who sustained minor facial injuries, was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
01:06He has been arrested and a four-day remand has been obtained for further investigations.
