The Sistine Chapel, normally open to visitors of the Vatican Museums, will be off limits until the end of the Conclave, which begins on May 7, 2025. The museum's collection has been enriched throughout history thanks to the presence of popes who have also lived inside these apartments, like Alexander VI, the first pope elected in a Conclave held inside the Sistine Chapel.
