Video released by the Vatican on Tuesday, April 22, shows the open casket containing the body of Pope Francis, laid in the chapel of the Santa Marta residence.
Francis will be moved to St. Peter's Basilica on Wednesday morning, April 23, where the public will be able to pay their respect.
The funeral will be held at St. Peter's on Sunday morning at 0800GMT (1000 local time).
In a break from tradition, Francis confirmed in his final testament released on Monday, April 21, that he wished to be buried in Rome's Basilica of Saint Mary Major and not St. Peter's Basilica.
