A 17-year-old student died after his motorcycle was involved in an accident with three other vehicles in George Town, Penang.

The accident happened on Thursday (April 24) evening along Jalan Masjid Negeri and the victim was riding his motorcycle towards Gelugor from Batu Lanchang.

00:20Georgetown OCPD, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rozak Mohamed, said another motorcycle suddenly
00:26emerged from the left and collided with the victim's motorcycle.
00:31The impact caused, the victim fell onto the road after brushing against a car on the right
00:36lane and was then hit by a small lorry on the left lane.
00:40The victim was rushed to Penang Hospital but succumbed to serious injuries an hour later
00:45after the accident.
00:47ACP Rozak said police have identified the motorcyclist believed to have caused the accident and will
00:53detain the suspect for further investigation.
00:55The case is being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act,
01:021987, for causing death by reckless driving.
