And we are talking about July. The month of July is Pet Fire Safety Month.

What is something that we can do to help ensure our pets' survival and the chance of a fire?

The best thing to do is have a plan to have your animals ready, leashes, collars, and part of the entire situation.

Right, you're going to be in a rush. And how do we prevent fires in the first place?

In Philadelphia, we find the leading cause of fire is cooking equipment.

Animals are drawn to the stove because that's where the food is.

What we recommend is taking the knobs off the stove.

That way, dogs or cats can't flip the switch and start a fire accidentally.
