00:10Oh yeah, it is time for us to introduce the brand new Sunny 106.3 Pet of the Month.
00:17I'm Gina Burch and I'm super excited for you to learn about Reef.
00:21Well, he's a six-year-old. I'm kind of aging myself here, but he definitely reminds me of the cartoon Marmaduke.
00:29Oh my gosh, he does. So he's big, but he's not quite as big as Marmaduke.
00:33Not quite as big as Marmaduke, but he's got a big body, but his heart's bigger.
00:39Oh, that's such a great way to put it.
00:41He is a loving forever friend.
00:47Yeah, this dog came in and he had such a presence. I mean, he came right up.
00:51He just gave so many kisses. I was wondering what kind of aftershave you were wearing.
00:55He was just like, oh, Brian, I love you. I love you.
00:56Oh, yes. I get my Reef kisses every morning.
01:01So, you know, he's been with us way too long.
01:06Now, do you think it's a combination of things? He's an older dog and he's a bigger dog.
01:10So those are two things that I know for some people who have space restrictions and they're people who want puppies and we get that.
01:16Yeah, absolutely. You know, those are two factors we see when a shelter dog or even a shelter cat is with us longer than we want is because of age and with shelter dogs size.
01:32Six years old. So he's housebroken. He's got all of these these things. He knows tricks.
01:38Yes. Yes. He's he's really great at tricks. His manners are a one, you know, you know, sit, paw, lay down.
01:47Yeah. And he just wants to please you.
01:49And I love the fact that for a six year old dog, he still has a lot of energy.
01:55I mean, not excessive, but I mean, you're going to be able to go on walks and go running and have some fun with this dog.
02:02Oh, he's got the energy, you know, and what I kind of call these, you know, the the older dogs like Reef.
02:08He still has a little puppy brain in him. Yeah.
02:10He loves the play. You know, he's going to make you laugh. He's going to make you smile.
02:16Right. You know, being with us for over six months, what you know, whatever family adopts him.
02:23Very lucky that he's still with us. All right. So and where can they find Reef?

02:33And then you can come on in at 2010 Arcadia Street. Come and meet Reef.
02:39Yeah. I is, you know, he's going to win your heart. You do a meet and greet.
02:43And one thing we have to let everybody know about Reef's adoption fees are covered.
02:47Yes. And that Chico's Promise is a charity organization that covers adoption fees.
02:55So that's already covered. You know, you get to skip that.
02:59Want to make it easy for you. And Brian, just on a personal note, want to wish you well.
03:02I know you're going to be leaving Gulf Coast Humane Society and we've loved having you in here.
03:07And you've you've dedicated so much of your life to the animals here in Southwest Florida.

03:16It's it was a tough it was a tough, tough, tough, you know, toughest decision.
03:22But, you know, the family and I were going to be moving out of the area.
03:25Yeah. But, you know, leaving these these shelter pets is, you know, they changed my life.
03:32You know, I've worked here almost eight years and I'm they just it was a life changing experience.
03:40And it's something that I will always, always hold on to.
