I'm so happy to introduce you to the new Sunny Pet of the Month. Here name is Dana. She is currently at the Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS), and we need help finding her a forever home.

00:14And it is time to introduce our new Sunny 106.3 Pet of the Month and from the Gulf Coast Humane Society is Brian Werma.
00:22Brian, who do you have for us this morning?
00:24Oh, we've got the lovely Dana. I just love this girl.
00:29So she's seven and a half years, still has lots of energy.
00:34She loves her zoomies. She loves being hugged. She gives hugs back.
00:40She's a for the lab lovers. She's your girl.
00:44You know, she's definitely maybe a little bit of a lab mix, but fully, you know, dominant lab.
00:51Okay. And she is a gorgeous dog. And she, yeah, for being an older dog, she's got the energy.
00:56She's rolling around wanting us to rub her belly and super excited to meet everybody here, which is always fun to see.
01:02She's got a happy temperament.
01:04Yeah.
01:04She's got a special place in your heart. I can tell you've got a soft spot for this one.
01:08I do. And the, it really does break my heart. She has not had a meet, meet or greet yet in the 170 days.
01:16And that's, that really, uh, that really bugs me, uh, because I think people are missing out.
01:23Yeah.
01:23Uh, because I know once someone can do a meet and greet with her out in the play area, you know, it would be a one and done.
01:32And I think just, just give her a chance is, uh, is really is, is what I'm asking.
01:37And I think one of the reasons people aren't giving her a chance because of her age, you said she'd be, cause she's seven and a half.
01:41But I mean, these senior dogs are great. Yes. If you're looking for a one pet home, I know a lot of people are, she'll fill your home up with a love for three pets.
01:54I love it. She'll keep you busy.
01:56And the good thing is her adoption is free right now. It's been paid for. Tell us about that.
02:00Yeah. So it's through a Chico's promise. They sponsor four of our dogs and they pay their, their adoption fees.
02:07And so her adoption fee is paid for and everything that comes with every shelter animal at Gulf Coast Humane Society, they are fixed, spay neutered, they're vaccinated and they're microchipped.
02:20Uh, you, you fall in love with one and just the looks, the personality, come in, come down and see us.

02:30And you've got another adoption event that's going on all month and we're going to put the information up at Sunny as well, but it's helping to clear the kennels.
02:38Yes. And this is a great one. Uh, it's through a Bissell Pet Foundation and it's called Empty the Shelters.
02:45And, uh, we, we have some great specials. Again, it's for all adult dogs, six months and older, $50 adoption fee.
02:52But for dogs, you know, although, uh, Dana, her adoption fee is already paid for all dogs that have been at Gulf Coast Humane Society for over 90 days, $25 adoption fee.
