00:15all right we've been off happy thanksgiving by the way belated hope you had a good one with the
00:22family same to you couple pay-per-views around thanksgiving week i took the week off i didn't
00:27realize how good of a week you didn't miss much honestly too much take if you're taking vacate
00:33take thanksgiving week off if you're a wrestling fan if you're a sports fan there is so much and
00:38like the entire like starting monday starting the weekend before there's so much going on
00:43every day was filled with like oh big game big pay-per-view show something i'm this is never
00:49have to leave your couch stellar i did not leave my they brought the food to you oh yeah shout out
00:54to mia she was no i'm just kidding she didn't know but everything it was just a stellar week
00:59to take a vacation it was awesome so let's start with the biggest news of all because we cannot talk
01:04about anything else before we talk about this survivor series i love saying this to daryl i was right
01:10i was right about what cm punk is back in wwe oh gosh you're the only one that called that yes i'm not
01:18the only one that called that but i'm the only one on this show that called that uh cm punk the
01:23end of survivor series and they got us with the post-credit surprise after war games they did
01:29randy orton came back randy orton and war games that was something neither of us thought would happen
01:33and the war games match ends michael cole says good night we're panning out i literally was looking at
01:41my tv saying wow they didn't do it and then cult cult of personality tough to say randy orton was
01:48uh yeah randy orton was was kind of like i guess the the distraction the look over here do you feel
01:54like all the speculation because because it was in chicago all the speculation was cm punk was going
01:58to show up right and then like that last week or like they just say oh by the way uh the viper the
02:05apex predator is going to show up and so it's like oh randy orton okay so this thing's going on over
02:10here you know it just it was it was a good distraction do you feel like it overshadowed
02:14randy's return a little too much randy's gone for over a year no i don't think it did i think randy's
02:18return was perfect they gave him the time that he needed and he was featured in that match he got
02:22to hit that awesome rko yeah on jd so it it was fine yeah i think with randy's return it was a
02:28obviously not nearly as long b it was announced the raw before so we had the entire week to sit on it
02:34plus the entire night we were talking about randy because they were worried that he wasn't going to
02:40show up which by the way we both mutually agreed we love the way they handled that very much so
02:44because it would have been very awkward if randy came back and was just hanging out in one of the
02:48cages for a half hour he would have got a huge pop but then just like oh he's just standing there for
02:5130 minutes novelty wears off so yeah we're just staring at randy sitting in a cage for 30 minutes
02:56before he actually does something it's like look guys randy orton's back i know he's been there 15
03:00minutes we got it he's there we see him there he's still right there he hasn't left he hasn't left
03:04so no i don't think it overshadowed by any means shout out to ria ripley though for you know
03:09making that dig because a lot of people yeah on raw she did a lot of people she's so great
03:13thought that way that that whole segment was great the daddy's back line loved it that i loved it
03:19look at the second ria's music hit yeah and i feel horrible for for saying this but i don't feel as
03:25horrible because every fan in nashville thought this the second her music hit i'm like rk ors
03:31it's gonna happen it's gonna happen and they're gonna they're gonna tease that and they're gonna make
03:36us wait for it like they did way back when when the dudleys kept teasing putting trish stratus to
03:40the table it's gonna happen it's the same thing that might get a louder pop than his return
03:44depending on where they do it it just might that put her in the royal rumble do it in australia
03:51honestly either any of the pay-per-views leading up to mania wasn't the rumble where uh
03:57was it nia jacks got an rko yeah put ria i don't it makes no sense put her in the rumble to take an
04:03rko that's well it can happen at the rumble but i think it's gonna happen she gets involved in some
04:08sort of match featuring randy orton against judgment day in some way i love that i let's
04:12get back to cm punk phil brooks is back in wwe a mighty cold day in hell triple h tweeted out
04:17with the picture of him and punk but man the press conference afterwards saying this is where punk
04:23belongs nice dig yeah yeah yeah and then cm punk on raw comes out and this is what got me
04:33the fact that you have phil brooks whether he was i don't care if he was forced to say it i don't
04:40care if he didn't mean it i think he did the fact that you got this man to go on live tv and say he's
04:46changed and that wwe is where he belongs yeah for all the shots he took at wwe not only in aew
04:54which everyone's having a ton of fun sharing those yeah but all the shots that he took at wwe and
05:00in regular real life interviews all the issues they've had he's never been quiet about it and
05:07whatever agreement that triple h and him have you have him coming out on live tv saying i belong here
05:14this is my home i mean he talked about his discussion with the wise man you know and i think there's a lot
05:19of truth to that i think that you know obviously neither of us being privy to the to their discussion
05:23right but there's got to be truth to that you know sometimes you got to step away to appreciate what
05:28was and what you had you do i i don't think they put him on tv with triple h or anyone else telling
05:33punk to say oh you got to say this you got to say that yeah i legitimately think he was given a live
05:37microphone they said hey here's some bullet points but otherwise say what you want to say
05:41speak from the heart i think that was legitimately him saying i'm back somewhere now where i feel i do
05:47belong i just can appreciate it more so the reports are and again they're all reports and i i tweeted
05:53this out before survivor series and shout out to our friends in the wrestling media uh it met a lot
05:57exited that's right uh i met a lot of them at summer slam in detroit and they're awesome please stop
06:04trying to spoil the show i mean yeah and i i'm not saying that as a dig toward any of the wrestling
06:09media but stop right let us it's not reporting on sports right when you report rumors and sports
06:14it's not the sports isn't scripted so it's it's purely rumors right so if it happens it's still
06:20the surprise yeah when you're trying to report someone's coming back and oh i spotted this
06:25person right or you know i heard that this person signed expect them to be there tonight you are
06:31spoiling the product i'm i'm a fan of predictions and reviews everything in between to just let it
06:38happen let's let's try and protect some kind of kayfabe in this day of no kayfabe well and i love
06:44hearing the behind the scenes of it after it happens exactly right like hearing you want to hear the
06:48story after the fact after the fact but leading up to it all these reports that were allegedly coming
06:53out whether they're true or not but oh you know cm punk and wwe seem to have a deal expect him at
06:58survivor series why would you want the crowd like and then plus you're you're you're setting them up
07:03for failure you know there's a lot to it stop trying to report like reporting on sports there's
07:08two different things two different things but reports are after the punk uh situation the punk
07:14uh return that triple h took over the producer role the last five minutes of the show no one knew
07:22and triple h did kind of confirm it in the press conference only him and nick conn really knew about
07:26punk coming back and he took over and all of a sudden there's phil and gorilla and everyone's like
07:32what the all right head on out man head on out yeah triple h is like i'll take it from here
07:37we saw seth ronald's reaction after the show getting held back by michael cole and cory graves of course
07:43the debate is whether or not he knew did anyone out there know was that reaction legit we heard we've
07:50heard how seth feels about phil in the past that looked very heated it was reported by espn and a
07:57lot of national media seth did take a dig call him punk a hypocrite on on raw punk reference not
08:04everyone being happy that he's back yeah did seth know did you think that was a genuine reaction what
08:09did you take from that reaction i i don't think that he knew um and i really really i okay so i
08:14genuinely think he did not know i genuinely believe that triple h saying that it was himself nick conn
08:20and only cm punk that knew i believe that's true um and i really really want there to be as bad as it
08:27sounds i want there to be this genuine dislike between punk and seth rollins it's it's it just makes
08:34for a much better feud it makes for much better tv and i'm sure that right now there's professionalism
08:39enough in the backstage locker room to where they can control and keep the morale up it's not gonna
08:42like this isn't a brett and sean situation where it kind of like spirals out and affects everybody
08:47negatively i think you can keep that contained but the feud is going to be awesome and i really want
08:51them to not rush into this yeah i don't think anyone knew one thing that made me feel like they
08:56didn't know if you noticed a cole and graves did not say a word right right normally when a big
09:03moment like this happens a return and there's a ring full of eight of your top names 10 of your
09:08top names they focus on the in-ring reactions yeah not once did we get a shot of anyone in the ring
09:15not once i don't think they knew and this is the beauty of wrestling and it's a little dangerous
09:20sometimes but it is where the the lines blur of what's real and what's storyline yeah we know
09:28we've heard it seth does not like punk right we've heard other people talk about cory graves
09:34recently in an interview talked about issues he's had with punk these guys have real life issues we
09:39have to remember just because we know so much about the behind the scenes and about the real people
09:43they are characters on tv yeah so this is no different than if the actors of a sitcom don't
09:48like each other in real life but they have to go on with the sitcom it is no different even though
09:53it's live entertainment in front of our eyes yeah i mean it's the same in any workplace really
09:56you know you just so yeah it's very relatable and understandable how it's just like all right
10:00well we're doing this for the betterment of the entire well and then it's the dangerous part of
10:04wrestling but the beautiful part of wrestling using real life situations for storyline yeah and i
10:09believe and this is a question for you i think seth ronald's is of course we've seen what cm punk has
10:14pulled in the past i believe they can turn this into a and what from the shots we saw on raw this looks
10:21like that's what we're getting they're taking the real life situation and it is a real life situation
10:26and they're gonna make a hell of a lot of money on it oh yeah for a wrestlemania for you and that's
10:31exactly what they're leading to that does not mean seth's reaction was not legit it was you i know you
10:37know a pissed off man when you see him oh yeah that he was not putting on either that or he's a damn
10:43good actor because that was a really that was a really convincing there's no way there is absolutely no
10:48way uh and he it wasn't during the show he wasn't selling for the camera someone in the front row just
10:55happened to get that video yeah this is this is fans phone this camera like they're getting this
11:00is he smart enough because not once did they reference the reaction either right right i do
11:05believe seth is smart enough to know that this could lead to an angle well he knows people are
11:11capturing his reaction yes yeah but that does not mean that reaction is fake right i not one bit
11:16and i do not believe anyone in that ring at survivor series from war games knew that punk was i mean
11:22even cody in the press conference looked very like oh he's here you know so it was just it was that kind
11:27of attitude of i didn't expect that but since he's here you know so what is your level of faith in
11:34phil brooks not cm punk love phil brooks your level of faith in phil brooks to make this wwe run work
11:42uh well based on his promo on raw and i know it wasn't a very long pipe bomb promo or anything like
11:47that i think that he wants to make it work and i think that if he's earnest about that and he means
11:53what he says yeah um i'm sure there was a sit down talk with triple h nikon whomever and there had to be
11:59agreement of something so i think he means it i think it'll work i think that he's really going to
12:03try to make it work i mean he alluded to as much in his promo cm punk is great for wrestling phil brooks is
12:09not that's what i've always said it's up to the bosses and of course we've talked about tony
12:13khan in the uw as to why phil was allowed to run wild as much as he did it is phil's fault but the
12:19wrestling industry is full of people like that we've heard time and time again the type of ego and
12:24personality it takes to make it in that business i promise you there's a lot of for lack of a better
12:30term there's a lot of assholes in the business that we just don't know about right probably worse
12:35than phil and you probably don't want to hear about them because it's probably one of your
12:38favorites yeah right but we don't hear about it because that's part of being the boss of a company
12:44like this where you keep it off screen and you keep it out of the headlines yeah tony khan could
12:49not do that i do have faith that triple h can and my faith grew so much with that promo on raw like you
12:55said it wasn't long it was very basic but this is the again this is the man who sat and did not care
13:00what cameras were in front of him did not care what who he was talking to in an interview did not care
13:05if it was live on dynamite or where it was he would take every shot possible to you know take a
13:12dig at wwe yeah and whatever else it may be the fact that he came out and said what he said because
13:21if he would have just come out and had a back and forth and focused on building a storyline i wouldn't
13:25have felt as good he took the time to say i belong here he didn't just come back to say i'm winning
13:32every title he didn't just come out here to well he didn't he didn't come out and just cut like a
13:37generic wrestling promo like i'm back to beat everybody and the other thing i like is that he
13:40didn't come out and focus he didn't really at all focus on seth rollins commentary or his reaction
13:46it was just kind of like some people weren't happy i'm here whatever moving on moving on yeah
13:51shout out to the uh shout out from aj lee bring her back love it or chill she don't want to come
13:57back i love that i do i met her before it was really cool i got her autograph before she was
14:02like featured a lot that was really cool moment very nice lady very nice i believe it and that's
14:08part of why i'm such a huge fan because you could see some of the genuine people in the business she's
14:12one of them oh for sure and i would love to see her you know shout out aj lee you know even if it's
14:16not for a match because she was great on the mic just come come back to you know cut some promos
14:21on some people and all that that'd be great uh you mentioned cody rhodes randy orton comes back
14:25his team won war games on raw cody rhodes declared for the 2024 royal rumble do you believe
14:32he is a shoo-in to win absolutely not no no no he's not no he's not why is that um now is he
14:38probably odds-on favorite yeah of course uh a shoo-in no i don't think so i think that
14:43i have the i have the impression that they're going to swerve a lot of people now that you could get a
14:50reaction people booing because one they're booing because they think that cody rhodes is going to
14:56waltz in and win the rumble or they're going to boo because cody rhodes gets eliminated from the
14:59rumble one of the others is going to happen but i i would not say he's a shoo-in to win it you know
15:04there's a part of me you and i were talking uh earlier and this kind of swayed me a little bit
15:10i will admit it does feel very predictable this year just because there's a lot of me that feels that
15:16if cody doesn't win it's not very believable that anyone other than cody winning would choose
15:21seth over roman right now that cm punk is actually back he is the only other option to win in my mind
15:30because if anyone if cm punk would want to choose seth for the obvious reasons we just stated
15:36cody would choose roman i believe anyone else wins the royal rumble match
15:45they would want to face roman a because that's known as the bigger title but also there's a lot
15:51of big basically all the big names have gotten screwed over by roman yeah and would want another
15:57shot and wouldn't really have a reason to choose seth over roman right punk is the only guy that if
16:04he won the rumble it would make sense that he would want to face seth rollins instead of roman
16:08reigns and that would still leave the door open for cody to face roman those are the only two i do not
16:13like how predictable this rumble feels because in those in my mind those are the only two options
16:18to win i don't feel it's predictable at all though no because the prediction would be okay so the
16:22prediction would be if let's say it was a situation like the rumble 2000 where half of your roster is
16:27injured yeah right and the only guys that are left are cody rhodes and sheamus and drew mcintyre okay
16:37well in that situation it's like well cody rhodes has to be the one that's winning this thing yeah you
16:42know but but now you have i mean cm punk could win it cody rhodes could win it do you go there
16:46could win it i mean you never know i mean but do you does good to need to drop the ic title if you
16:50want to give him the rumble i'm i would but then that opens up a whole question of who's he dropping
16:55to between now and then because the problem is is gunther's getting into roman reigns territory now
16:59that he beat the miz and that is he's held it for so long it broke so many records you need to be
17:04very picky who takes that yeah but here's here's my here's kind of my gripe and it's just as a
17:08as a side i want to get away from this mentality that wrestling fans have of just because roman
17:13beat a guy once they can never ever challenge him again like that happens there's a lot of guys that
17:18have been beaten by a lot of champions in the past who have come back back around and actually were
17:23successful in their match just because roman laid waste to all the top names doesn't mean that a guy
17:27can't come back and actually you know be successful this time so yeah i get that i do get that i just feel
17:33like with gunther's run it needs to be a big story leading into a big match for him to drop the title
17:40and i don't know that there's enough time before the rumble to do that if you want him to win the
17:43rumble and i wouldn't even have him drop it at the rumble so that's it's a little problematic yeah
17:49all right let's get to aw full gear the week before before thanksgiving uh again two straight weeks of
17:54pay-per-views this one in la and mjf in the main event now leading up to the pay-per-view talking a lot
18:00about the devil who is the devil and would the devil be at full gear and be revealed mjf during
18:04the roh tag title match which samoa joe did team with him and they retained he was attacked after
18:10the match taken away in an ambulance and they said the match was not happening with jay white adam cole
18:15returns still on one leg claiming that he would replace mjf mjf would then show up right before the
18:23match started and ended up defeating jay white first and foremost are you a little disappointed
18:29in any way that there was no progression on this devil storyline at full gear yeah i am and i mean
18:36i get i don't even want to say i get i know mj mjf being like carted out basically telling adam don't
18:42let him take my title yeah so as you know as the friend storyline i'll step in and do what i can to
18:47help you but it's just like all right but just the booking of it like you said the note there's
18:52no involvement of progression of the devil storyline i'm just like so then what was this
18:56whole thing that's the issue i have is this was the biggest storyline yeah the storyline leading
19:02into the into the pay-per-view was the devil and bullet club gold right and it feels like full gear
19:07turned into its own box of its own storyline because we we had just focused on mjf's injury
19:14and adam cole replacing him i'm not saying the devil needed to be revealed at full gear
19:19but the fact that the devil didn't even try to cost mjf the title show up after he won make any form of
19:26appearance or hint of who it was or just reveal himself again it's one of those things where when
19:32you remind us of the main storyline every week we expect pay-per-views no matter how often you have
19:37them we expect pay-per-views to be where storylines aren't always culminated but at least
19:44progressed right this seems like they did yeah you're right and it just kind of seems like they
19:48they pivoted and decided to do this extra little bit of a storyline and i'm like well you don't need
19:54to do this you have everything coming into this event like so it's the same thing i feel about and
19:58not to switch too much about the the six-man tag involving adam copeland and christian the whole
20:04leading up to it was christian avoiding adam copeland we get to the pay-per-view they don't touch once
20:09well by design by design it's at a paper what something right they're saving for the singles
20:16match though i dynamite okay well okay well that's which by the way so prior to having okay prior to
20:22having knowledge of that i would have really defended this and said well you're going to save
20:26it for you know world's end it's gonna make sense and i'm i'm a big fan of building the feud yes but
20:30then you're going to tell me they're going to get it on a dynamite yeah that match better not happen
20:34that yeah thank you they better not touch they better not i don't want to see a headlock
20:38any if now it has to be a world's end if this is a gimmick where christian somehow wiggles his way
20:44out attacks him before it turns into a beatdown to set up world's end i'm all it's gonna be nick
20:49wayne versus adam copeland whatever it may be but if this match happens for three minutes five minutes
20:55it is a waste yeah it makes no sense they're in montreal they're from toronto right that is six hours
21:03away yeah just because it's canada or winnipeg you idiot yeah shout out to chris jericho for that
21:08just because they're from canada that's like if you and i were in freaking seattle but since we're
21:13both american we're gonna have a match from the u.s right yeah go ahead have a match in vermont okay
21:18sure buddy like they're six hours apart they're not in toronto and this match needs to be on pay-per-view
21:26i am surprised they didn't touch but you know ferndale right next to sheboygan
21:29two blocks away sure dude so circling back to mjf and uh the adam cole situation on top of the
21:37devil just not being shown up or you know anything and again i'm not saying it needed to be revealed
21:43but do you feel like this whole injury angle also took away from the the hype that jay white had going
21:50yes yes a lot i felt like they did such a good job building him up as the challenger as the
21:56the bullet club gold faction as the hill faction going against mjf and then you get to full gear and
22:01it's just like hey guy holding the championship you kind of don't matter you're just in the match
22:05we're doing all these other things and then you're gonna lose yeah so i'm just like so
22:09what was the point especially with how good of a faction bullet club gold all together looks
22:14right yeah you could have just had mjf injured defending his title against jay white because
22:19it made jay white look really weak yes this guy is like on one leg and you can't beat him all these
22:23things are going your way and it was a great match yeah but it's just like you have the upper hand here
22:28sir it was a great match and when i say that though that's kind of a problem because if you're
22:33going to have this injury angle to at least make jay white look good you should have jay white beating
22:37the hell out of mjf till the very very end mjf gets by just basically skin of his teeth i mean that
22:42barely yeah but instead he survives it yeah yeah but instead you had mjf doing these amazing spots
22:48and him looking stellar and it just getting the best of jay white more times than not
22:53it especially with the fire that jay white and bullet club gold had going into la
22:58this hurt them a lot they owe jay white a nod here he needs he needs something to kind of boost him
23:05well he's in the continental classic which is for about leads to a later point yes well let's let's get to
23:10it because we have 14 different titles on the line at the continental classic a new title eddie
23:15kingston put on his roh and new japan title as well why i don't know i don't know source strickland's
23:21in this tournament as well and what a match with adam page a texas death match the best texas death
23:28was the best texas death match i've seen no hands down in aw anywhere anywhere it was from the from the
23:36beginning it was just brutal but it wasn't that it was brutal because john moxley has overdone that
23:43right bloody every match it was the meaning behind it yeah it wasn't just the fact that
23:50page was stapling something to swerve strickland he was stapling his kids painting because of the
23:58story leading into this which was swerve breaking in to his home yeah into his family it was so good
24:04from start to finish yeah moxley bleeds because that's what he does yeah you know there's there's
24:08no real whatever behind it but this had i mean this had actual depth emotion and story to it
24:13where you can look at it from a story standpoint and be like any father worth his salt would beat the
24:19living hell out of this person yeah and is exactly what hangman page did which you would expect him
24:24to react like i don't want you don't want someone to walk to the ring you know we're not doing a
24:28jeff hardy dance entrance here while you're taking on this serious role um it was everything you
24:33needed to be it was everything and more and it was a lot of which i don't really need to see again
24:37well and that's what it is don't do it again because now it doesn't feel special and i feel
24:41like a lot of people you know they're reacting so great about this and rightfully so but a lot of
24:46people probably don't realize you're not reacting because of how bloody it was or because it was how
24:51good it was yeah we've seen the bloody we've seen the hardcore matches in aw and the crazy stunts and
24:56the goriness and all that's crap this got extra reaction yes because of that but because of the
25:03story behind it and that's something that most of the texas death matches that we've seen in aw
25:07almost all of them have not had we just saw ricky starks and brian danielson casually have one
25:12yeah and that did not get nearly the reaction that these two are having it's it's it's the story people
25:16resonate with the emotion behind it so swerve looks like a main eventer after this how does his rise
25:21look what type of title he's in a continental classic does he need to win that tournament
25:25or what do you do with him um he doesn't need to win it i actually think again to my point i think
25:30i think jay white can win that so what do you do with swerve because he's somebody with a performance
25:33like that on pay-per-view yeah i give him something no yeah i mean you could he could be next in line
25:39for mjf depending on where this whole devil thing goes swerve somebody that could hold the world title
25:43soon oh yeah without a doubt we talked about this a few weeks ago but i was also a little like okay but
25:47not yet watching him on pay-per-view i'd be okay if he wanted that world's end now of course
25:51somehow joe's got the title i'm not saying do that but i'm saying i'd be okay if he won it now
25:55he's ready now he's got prince nana the whole thing around him everything prince nana is over
26:01with his dance yeah on top of house and honestly what makes that so good is how stoic swerve is
26:09while prince nana's dancing over here and he just yeah the the juxtaposition the difference between
26:13the two just makes it work so it's a beautiful thing a couple things before we get out of here
26:17from full gear chris jericho kenny omega they earn a tag team title shot
26:21are they winning these titles i mean they could but i don't really need them to i'd rather just
26:26keep it on starks and big bill i think there's a lot more legs with that tag team to go so watching
26:30that promo on collision from ricky starks and big bill i do like this but for them not for jericho
26:36and omega exactly i want them to beat jericho and omega because i want this tag team title run to just
26:40lift them up even more and beating two names like that will do that and tony storm women's champion
26:46does the women's title help her character you know actually i know and i was kind of on the
26:51fence with this but i think it does and i love the way that she's the kind of like the award ceremony
26:55thing you know it's just her character is so good that even without it it would she'd still be
27:00entertaining but it adds another level it was exactly what you said i was on the fence about it
27:05leaning in because i thought losing would just add to her craziness that's where i was that award
27:09accepting ceremony she's the gift that keeps on giving that was so good i did not think and i just
27:15appreciate yeah and it makes so much sense and i appreciate just how how like no pun intended all
27:21in she is on this character like it just it just works when when a performer really goes all in on
27:26the character and they buy into it it's perfect roll around the ring is available wherever you get
