00:00Danny has reached out to us today for the 715 Second Date Update, commercial-free new country, 99.5QYK.
00:06They've hung out twice, which is a great thing.
00:09So you would think that was good.
00:11Second time they hung out, it was at his house, and he cooked her dinner.
00:16But since then, hasn't heard from her.
00:18He said something about making a move.
00:20Maybe it's because he didn't do that.
00:21He said he was a complete gentleman, so maybe that's what it is.
00:24And that's a bad thing to be a complete gentleman and not make a move?
00:26No, but maybe she was just looking for something else.
00:28Oh, all right.
00:29Well, we're going to find out.
00:30Hey, we're going to find out because we've got her on hold right now.
00:32Let's bring her back on.
00:33Elena, are you there?
00:35Yeah, I don't have a lot of time.
00:38I have to get to work.
00:39What is this about?
00:40Okay, so I'll get it right to you.
00:41Give me 20 seconds.
00:42Here's what it's about.
00:43It's about a date you went on with this guy, Danny.
00:46He told us that you guys went to a happy hour your first time you hung out.
00:50The second time you hung out, you went over to his house.
00:53He cooked you dinner.
00:54He said it went really well.
00:56You guys enjoy each other's company.
00:57He was a complete gentleman.
00:59And I guess you even texted him saying you made it home safe and thank you for everything.
01:04But since that text, after the date, he's been trying to get a hold of you, hasn't heard anything.
01:08And we were just wondering if there was a reason for that.
01:12Oh, yeah.
01:13He may have cooked me dinner, but I did a whole lot more for him.
01:17Okay.
01:17What do you mean by that?
01:18What kind of stuff?
01:20I basically cleaned his whole house.
01:22You cleaned his house?
01:23Yeah, like, when I got there, he had a glass of wine waiting for me, which I thought was sweet.
01:28But, you know, he invited me over to cook me dinner.
01:30And the first thing he has me do is clean off his table.
01:34He's like, oh, yeah, I didn't have time to clean up the table.
01:38Would you mind doing it?
01:38And it's like, okay, that's kind of weird, but sure.
01:40I mean, he's got, like, papers and dirty glasses, so, like, cleaned off the table.
01:46And then, like, I sat down to have a sip of the wine.
01:48And then he was like, oh, also, I didn't get a chance to vacuum.
01:52Would you mind just vacuuming under the table real quick?
01:54Oh, he did not.
01:54Seriously?
01:56Yeah.
01:56And I was like, uh, sure, I guess.
02:00So I vacuumed under the table.
02:03We have the meal.
02:04And, like, the meal goes well.
02:06But then he's like, so I cook, so you got the dishes right.
02:10And I thought he was joking.
02:12But he was not joking.
02:14He had this man that I have been on now two dates with has me do his dishes.
02:19And you did him.
02:20Well, yeah, I was so uncomfortable.
02:23Like, I'm in his house.
02:24I don't really know him, you know.
02:26I just didn't want to make it awkward.
02:28So I just did them and tried to get out as fast as possible.
02:33Hey, man, you're a good person for doing them.
02:34I feel like I would have bailed.
02:35Yeah, but you do that.
02:37You help out when you have somebody cook you dinner, though.
02:40That's not too much to ask, is it?
02:42If I ever have you over for dinner, I'll make sure that you're vacuuming as well.
02:45Not vacuuming.
02:46I'm talking about the dishes, though.
02:48You always help out with the dishes.
02:49It's a kind gesture.
02:50Right.
02:51I'm not sure I would do that on a date.
02:53But that's obviously the reason you haven't called him back, Elena.
02:56Yeah, I mean, the whole thing was just super rude.
02:59And, like, who does that, you know?
03:01Yeah, his name's Danny.
03:02Yeah, that happens.
03:03Well, listen, we actually have Danny on the phone, and I would love to ask him about this
03:08because that is weird.
03:10Let me bring him back on, Elena.
03:11Give me one second.
03:12Danny, you there?
03:12Yeah.
03:15I mean, wait, wait, just a second.
03:17Where I'm from, it's pretty common that if someone cooks, the least you can do is clear a table.
03:21So I don't understand why you're being a priss about it.
03:24Ooh.
03:24Okay.
03:25And, like, maybe if we live together, but this was the first time I've been to your house.
03:30You're supposed to, like, try to impress me.
03:32Like, we're still getting to know each other.
03:34I came over because you offered to cook me dinner, so I thought I was going to be able to just, like, relax and enjoy the evening, not work.
03:41I would have stayed home and cleaned my own house, you know?
03:45Okay, well, I went out.
03:46I did the grocery shopping.
03:48I cooked the meal.
03:49I brought the wine.
03:50And, like, you're just, like, complaining about vacuuming, which took, like, a minute.
03:55Not the time.
03:57It's how rude it was.
03:59It's that you should have done that ahead of time.
04:02If you wanted to bring me over as your guest, you should have made me feel like a guest, not like I lived there and had to pull my own weight.
04:09I feel like you're exaggerating a little bit, to be honest.
04:12Like, it was just a few crumbs on the bottom of the table that you had.
04:15The quick vac takes a second to just clean it.
04:17I asked you.
04:18It wasn't like you were doing my whole house.
04:20I wasn't asking you to be a maid.
04:22It felt like I was doing your whole house because it was three different tasks over the course of an evening.
04:27It was awkward and uncomfortable.
04:30And I genuinely can't believe you're trying to make me the bad guy here.
04:34I bet anyone listening would never ask that of a guest, especially on a second date.
04:40Is this something you do to your friends, too?
04:41Like, do your friends come over?
04:42You ask them to help out?
04:43Hey, can you wipe that down?
04:44Hey, can you vacuum this?
04:45Yeah, sure.
04:46My buddies that come over, I'll ask them to do stuff.
04:48And they always help me.
04:49It's not like I thought I felt that comfortable with you that you were already, I don't know.
04:55It was a bonding thing.
04:56I just felt very comfortable with you to ask you for that.
04:57I thought we were, like, on the same page.
04:59And then now all of a sudden.
05:00Well, I didn't because it was date two, Danny.
05:05And I was like, what's this guy going to ask me to do next date?
05:09Like, change his oil?
05:11Hem his pants?
05:12Like, what is my next task for you?
05:15I don't know.
05:17Maybe this is a mistake, then.
05:19I don't know.
05:19If you don't want to help out for a small thing, then what's going to happen in the future when I really need your help?
05:24I mean, not to look too far into the future, but I'm just saying, like, I really felt comfortable with you.
05:28You felt comfortable enough after first date to come over.
05:31Yeah, and then I didn't feel comfortable anymore.
05:34So.
05:35Elaine, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you probably don't want to hang out with Danny again.
05:41No, I've got some great maid services I can recommend for you, though.
05:44Uh-oh.
05:45Okay.
05:46Well, Danny, I think you and Elena are seeing this situation completely different, obviously.
05:51And it looks like it's not going to be a third date for her.
05:54So I appreciate you coming on.
05:55And, Elena, thanks for your time as well.
05:58Okay.
05:58Yeah, I got to go.
05:59All right.
06:00See you.
06:01I mean, the audacity to be able to ask somebody, hey, can you get a vacuum over there?
06:06Can you clean off that table for me?
06:07Like, to ask a girl to do that when you're trying to impress her?
06:10I mean, what is that?
06:11Yeah, I mean, cleaning off a table is one thing.
06:13If, you know, because, like, I work at, you know, our table, too.
06:15A lot of times it's messy.
06:17Sure.
06:17Like, computers.
06:17Hey, can you just clean that off?
06:19But to actually ask her to grab the vacuum, that goes overboard.
06:23And then tell her to clean up afterwards.
06:26Right.
06:27If she was like, hey, let's do these.
06:28Or, like, you know, hey, I'll get these dishes.
06:30You know she's going to offer to help.
06:32You would hope.
06:32You know she will.
06:34And so then you'll just do them together.
06:35But to say, hey, I cooked.
06:37You clean.
06:37That's a little bit too comfortable.
06:40Yeah.
06:41His argument was, I did all the grocery shopping.
06:44I got everything together.
06:45This is the least you could do.
06:46So, does he have a point?
06:47We want to know.
