Peep Show: Watch This Before You Watch the Watcher

Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about the new trending Netflix series 'The Watcher' and try to figure out if they should watch the show. This is when they learn the actual story it's based on isn't that interesting and the show is mostly embellished.

00:12A lot of people I've heard have.

00:15Oh, my God, my whole family is obsessed with it.

00:17They've all, like, blown through it.

00:18This is based on that real story we've talked about on the show many times,

00:24that family that bought the place in New Jersey

00:26and then start getting these odd letters.

00:30That's what it's based on.

00:32Oh, wow.

00:33I didn't know that.

00:34Yeah, it's based on that actual real-life story.

00:37Apparently it's, you know, creepy, spooky.

00:41Yeah, I can't remember how that whole thing wrapped up, that whole story.

00:46I think they just left and they weren't able to sell it, I think, right?

00:49Because people knew.

00:50Oh, that's right, because there's someone.

00:52As far as I remember, the real story ended with them just leaving that house

00:55because they couldn't handle it anymore.

00:57So we don't need to watch the show.

00:58I feel like they thought they knew.

00:59Sorry, spoiler alert, but it's based on a real story.

04:44So, in the show, they put in that they received, they moved in the house, which the family never

04:48moved in, and they received phone calls and break-ins, but the former owners only received

04:54one letter from the watcher.

04:57They only got one.

05:01And they never moved in?

05:02Which they hadn't considered ominous.

05:05So, it wasn't even that crazy?

05:07So, basically what they did, they were like, you know what would be cool?

05:10If that watcher guy was actually scary and sent hundreds of letters, they just took a little

05:17idea.

05:17A little tiny idea and made it into crazy.

05:21So, that changes the whole concept of the series.

05:23It's like, they're just having dinner, and they're like, ah, everybody calm down.

05:26We just bought this house.

05:27Stop thinking about that one time we got that letter.
