00:00Well, he is an absolute legend. He's going to be here Saturday with one of the greatest bands in music.
00:05He was given his first guitar at the age of eight years old.
00:08He has over nine million albums sold with 10 billion streams.
00:14Their latest album is called The Comeback.
00:17On the phone right now, Zachary Alexander Brown.
00:23What's up, Zach?
00:24Good morning.
00:25Life is good. You guys good down there in Tampa?
00:28We are doing good, man. We feel very, very lucky.
00:30But we are very excited to see you this weekend.
00:32Likewise.
00:33And, Zach, you obviously know, you've seen the news of what's going on with the aftermath of the hurricane.
00:38And I think you're a great band to be coming to town because I do think that your guys' music really brings people together.
00:44Yeah, you know, we need things.
00:46What you guys do, playing music and bringing music, which I believe is medicine, good medicine for people.
00:52You know, we need things to remind us of how we're all the same.
00:55And that's the world that I live in.
00:58You know, I still believe this is the greatest country in the world to live in.
01:02And the opportunities that we have here to be able to be together and to share in things like a concert and things like that.
01:08You know, these are things that we need right now in our country.
01:11Well, listen, the comeback, the latest album from you guys, you're looking absolutely jacked on the front of this thing, by the way, dude.
01:17Thanks, man.
01:18I've had a lot of time off for perspective and to be rejuvenated and take care of myself.
01:25And, you know, life is good and we're so blessed.
01:27I'm in the best headspace that I've ever been in.
01:29And it's reflected in our creativity and our writing and being able to produce and being able to put together a show.
01:35This show this year is going to be something different than we've ever done.
01:38It's something I've always wanted to do.
01:40And from the amount of work going into just the set piece itself, I've got craftsmen from all over the nation building pieces for this set.
01:48The way it's going to look and feel.
01:49And then, you know, we've got Robert Randolph.
01:51We've got some other amazing openers this year.
01:53But Robert Randolph will be out with us for all of our big shows and, you know, we're going to be able to really present something really special.
01:59But we cannot wait.
02:00We're talking to Zach Brown right now, going to be here Saturday.
02:03One thing, I hope you take this as a compliment.
02:05So when I have a lot of friends that are like, you know, hey, you know, I don't really want to go to a country show.
02:10I don't like country music.
02:11I'm like, go to a Zach Brown show.
02:13You're going to love it.
02:14And I'm like, start there.
02:15And I bring them to a Zach Brown show and they're like, wow, this is awesome.
02:19This is great.
02:20And it's like their first, like, little taste of country, because I feel like your shows, you do so much with your band and you play all different kinds of music.
02:28And the fans, they love it.
02:30Oh, thank you so much.
02:31Yeah, you know, I think for me, when I was putting together my band, it's just the secret is to be the worst guy in the band.
02:37That's a good point.
02:38That's a good way to look at it.
02:39I like that.
02:40You know, letting everybody else shine and show what they do.
02:43And just the chemistry we have from playing together for so long and being able to pull the best from the folks that are in my band.
02:51And, you know, I'm just so blessed to be able to have this life in music that I have.
02:55And, you know, music means the world to me.
02:57And, you know, continuing that evolution of how we present it and what we write and do.
03:02And, you know, I think our best years of ZBB are ahead of us.
03:07And the live show is going to be really special.
03:11And I have the headspace and the time and the creativity to be able to put into these things that I've always wanted to do.
03:18You know, I'm creatively present and in the moment.
03:21And I've cleared the slate on a lot of things that got smashed by COVID so that my attention can be primarily on the music.
03:29Right.
03:29And it's a blessing, and I think you're going to feel that when you come see us.
03:33Oh, man, we're getting jacked up about this.
03:35Oh, and by the way, we cannot thank you enough for doing it on a Saturday, finally.
03:38Oh, yeah, because you always come on a Sunday.
03:41You come on a Sunday, and we're trying to have a good time.
03:43But we know we've got to work early the next morning.
03:45So we appreciate that, man, big time.
03:48Oh, we're so excited.
03:49Yeah, you can crawl into your living room on your elbows on Sunday morning and have a day to recover.
03:56I was like, yeah.
03:56And that's the first thing I said.
03:57I'm like, you guys, it's on a Saturday, because I think the last three or four times you've been here has been Sunday night.
04:02So thank you for coming on a Saturday.
04:05Absolutely.
04:06All right, talking to Zach Brown, the new album's called The Comeback, the new single, Out in the Middle, man.
04:10You sound like you're in a great headspace, and I love that for you.
04:13Thank you for your inspiration in your music.
04:16And, brother, we are pumped, and we will see you on Saturday.
04:20Thanks for the love, y'all.
04:21I appreciate what you do for us.
04:22All right, dude.
04:22See you, man.
