00:00
Good afternoon from the Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03
This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:09
We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:12
the thick clouds that are currently affecting the area of Mindanao
00:18
is the continuous erosion of the Intertropical Convergence Zone
00:21
or the accumulation of wind from the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
00:26
For the next 24 hours, there is a high chance of heavy rains,
00:30
landslides, and landslides
00:32
that are possible to be experienced in a large part of Mindanao.
00:35
Meanwhile, these are the clouds that are affecting the eastern part of the
00:40
Central and Southern Hemisphere.
00:42
It is affected by the easterlies,
00:44
or the hot winds from the Pacific Ocean.
00:46
That's why in the areas of Aurora and Quezon,
00:48
we will also experience a high chance of heavy rains and landslides.
00:53
For Metro Manila and the remaining parts of our country,
00:56
we will continue to experience hot and humid weather tomorrow,
01:01
but there are still chances of sudden and quick rains
01:05
caused by localized thunderstorms.
01:07
At the moment, we are also not monitoring or observing
01:10
any low-pressure areas or bad weather
01:13
that could affect any part of our country in the coming days.
01:18
For the location of our weather tomorrow here in Luzon,
01:22
the eastern section of Luzon,
01:24
particularly in the areas of Aurora and Quezon,
01:27
because of the easterlies,
01:29
we will be able to experience heavy rains,
01:31
landslides, and landslides.
01:33
That's why our countrymen should be careful in this area
01:36
because there are still chances of landslides and landslides,
01:40
especially if we continue to experience heavy rains.
01:43
For Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon,
01:47
tomorrow, the hot and humid weather will continue.
01:51
This afternoon, we will experience hot weather,
01:54
but late afternoon to evening,
01:57
there are still chances of strong rains caused by thunderstorms.
02:02
This rain will not last long,
02:05
usually from 30 minutes to 2 hours only.
02:10
In the areas of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
02:14
because of the ITCZ,
02:16
we will experience heavy rains in some areas of Mindanao.
02:21
Starting tonight until tomorrow,
02:23
this ITCZ effect will continue,
02:25
but the improving conditions will start in the morning and afternoon
02:29
in the central and eastern portions of Mindanao.
02:33
But the rains will continue in the southern and western portions of Mindanao
02:37
until the morning and afternoon.
02:41
But this afternoon and evening,
02:42
a large portion of Mindanao will experience cloudy weather.
02:46
So, our fellow countrymen should also be careful,
02:49
especially here in the areas of Zamboanga Peninsula,
02:52
a large portion of Barm and Socsargen,
02:55
because for the next 24 hours,
02:56
these are the areas most affected by the Intertropical Convergence Zone,
03:00
or ITCZ.
03:01
Meanwhile, for the rest of Visayas,
03:05
and this is also an area of Palawan,
03:07
we are expecting the continued effect of Easter Easter,
03:10
so this fair weather will continue,
03:12
but we should also be prepared for the rains
03:15
of isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
03:19
As for the condition of our ocean,
03:21
there is no gale warning at the top,
03:23
and it is expected that we will experience
03:26
severe waves in a large portion of our country.
03:29
However, our fellow countrymen should still be careful
03:33
because if we have offshore thunderstorm activity,
03:36
these are the rains in our coastal areas,
03:39
we will experience strong winds,
03:42
and this is also a part of the rise of our waves.
03:46
As for our 3-day weather outlook
03:48
in the surrounding areas of our country,
03:50
a large portion of Luzon, Metro Manila, Baguio City, and Legazpi City,
03:54
for the next 3 days or for these 3 days,
03:57
from Monday to Wednesday,
03:59
this part will continue to be cloudy,
04:01
up to cloudy to cloudy,
04:03
accompanied by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
04:07
in the late afternoon to evening.
04:10
As for the areas in Visayas,
04:12
here in Metro Cebu, Iloilo City, and Tacloban City,
04:16
this is also the time that we will experience
04:18
in these 3 days,
04:19
from Monday to Wednesday,
04:21
when the weather is hot and humid.
04:23
And if we bring an umbrella,
04:25
it will only be removed in the heat of the day,
04:27
morning and afternoon,
04:29
and it will only be removed in the rain,
04:31
accompanied by thunderstorms,
04:32
from afternoon to evening.
04:35
Also, our countrymen will be more careful
04:38
in most parts of our country for the next few days
04:41
because of the hot weather.
04:44
To avoid the risk of heatstroke,
04:46
especially for our senior citizens
04:49
or those who have existing medical conditions,
04:51
we will avoid outdoor activities
04:53
in the hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
04:56
because this is the time period
04:58
where we will experience this high temperature.
05:02
And if we cannot avoid these outdoor activities,
05:05
we will bring an umbrella in the heat of the day,
05:08
drink plenty of water,
05:09
stay hydrated,
05:11
and stay in well-ventilated areas
05:14
if we are indoors.
05:17
As for the areas of Mindanao,
05:19
in the areas of Metro Davao,
05:21
Cagayan de Oro City, and Zamboanga City,
05:23
due to the effect of ITCZ,
05:25
it is still possible for us to experience
05:27
heavy rains,
05:28
flooding, and landslides
05:30
in the southern portion of Mindanao.
05:32
So, this area,
05:34
or a large part of the Zamboanga Peninsula,
05:36
and BARN,
05:37
will still experience heavy rains
05:39
until Monday.
05:40
So, Zamboanga City,
05:41
on Monday,
05:42
we expect a dark weather
05:44
and a high chance of rain.
05:46
But for the rest of the forecast period
05:48
and the rest of these forecast areas,
05:50
from Monday to Wednesday,
05:52
we will experience
05:54
generally fair weather.
05:56
So, we are still prepared
05:58
for the chances of thunderstorms
06:00
in the afternoon until the evening.
06:03
The high temperature in Manila
06:05
will drop to 6 or 9 in the afternoon,
06:07
and will rise tomorrow
06:09
to 5 or 8 in the morning.
