00:00
Good afternoon from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03
This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:08
We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:12
the clouds that are hovering over a large part of Luzon
00:17
and the eastern part of Visayas.
00:19
This is the continuous effect of the Northeast monsoon
00:22
or the cold Amihan winds.
00:24
Because of the Amihan winds, we expect the clouds and rain
00:28
in most of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas
00:31
to be affected by the cold Amihan winds
00:34
in the area of Quezon and Bicol Region.
00:37
Meanwhile, the thick clouds in the southern portion of Palawan
00:42
are the effect of the easterly winds
00:44
or the winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
00:47
In most of our country, in a large part of Visayas
00:52
and the whole of Mindanao,
00:54
we can experience the cold Amihan winds
00:56
in the afternoon until late at night.
00:58
Let's be prepared for the chances of sudden and fast rainstorms
01:02
resulting from thunderstorms.
01:04
And this is our forecast for tomorrow in Luzon.
01:09
A large part of Luzon, in those regions of Cagayan Valley,
01:13
here in Cordillera, as well as here in the area of Metro Manila,
01:18
a large part of Mimaropa and Calabarzon,
01:21
will continue to be affected by the clouds and winds
01:24
of the northeast monsoon or the cold Amihan winds tomorrow.
01:27
So for now, the Amihan winds will continue to come,
01:31
especially in the eastern section of southern Luzon,
01:34
in the areas of Quezon and Bicol Region.
01:38
And in the southern part of Luzon,
01:41
more in particular, the Ilocos Region
01:43
and a large part of Central Luzon,
01:45
generally, we expect fair weather tomorrow.
01:48
And if we will experience rainstorms,
01:50
these will be light rains or just thunderstorms.
01:53
In the areas of Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao,
01:57
where the Amihan winds are strong,
01:59
Visayas may reach tomorrow.
02:02
Fair weather conditions over Visayas will continue.
02:05
We expect that due to the strong Amihan winds,
02:08
the chance of thunderstorm activity will decrease.
02:11
So, like in Luzon, if there are rainstorms in Visayas,
02:14
these will be light rains or thunderstorms brought by the Amihan winds.
02:19
But the winds from the northeast monsoon
02:23
will reach a large part of Palawan.
02:26
So, we expect a high chance of rainstorms in this area.
02:29
Meanwhile, in the eastern section of Mindanao,
02:32
in the regions of Caraga and Davao Region,
02:36
we will still experience heavy rains,
02:41
thunderstorms and thunderstorms tomorrow
02:43
because of the easterly winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
02:47
It will still be cloudy,
02:50
with a chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
02:53
for the rest of Mindanao.
02:58
This is our latest weather advisory issued at 5 p.m.
03:04
Starting tomorrow afternoon,
03:08
we may experience moderate to heavy rains
03:10
in the areas shaded by yellow
03:13
in the regions of Quezon, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
03:17
So, these are the areas that experienced heavy rains
03:19
in the past few days along the shoreline.
03:21
We also experienced heavy rains and landslides in these areas.
03:25
So, the land is saturated in areas with weather advisories.
03:30
So, we still hope that for the next 24 hours,
03:34
we will experience heavy rains along the Amihan.
03:38
So, let's prepare and be alert to the winds,
03:41
landslides and landslides,
03:43
especially if we experience continuous rains.
03:47
And always be alert to the local rainfall warnings.
03:51
These are the heavy rainfall warnings or rainfall advisories
03:54
that can be issued by our Pag-asa Regional Center
03:57
in our localities.
03:59
As of 5 p.m. today,
04:01
we still have high gale warnings
04:03
from the northeast monsoon of Hanging Amihan
04:06
in the seaboards of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur,
04:09
in Batanes, in Cagayan,
04:13
in Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon,
04:17
in the seaboards of Camarines Norte,
04:20
Northern Coast of Camarines Sur,
04:22
Northern and Eastern Coast of Catanduanes,
04:24
Eastern Coast of Albay,
04:26
Eastern Coast of Sorsogon,
04:28
Northern and Eastern Coast of Northern Samar,
04:31
as well as several towns of Eastern Samar.
04:36
To our fellow fishermen,
04:38
there are small fishing boats,
04:40
please do not swim
04:42
because we will still experience high waves
04:44
brought by the winds of Hanging Amihan.
04:47
And for our 3-day weather outlook
04:49
in the neighboring cities of our country,
04:51
a large part of Luzon will still experience
04:53
the winds of Hanging Amihan.
04:56
This is due to the rains and storms.
04:59
More in particular,
05:00
here in the area of Baguio City and Legazpi City
05:02
for the next three days,
05:04
the rains will continue.
05:05
But in the area of Cabiculan,
05:07
starting on Friday,
05:08
we expect the northeast monsoon to weaken.
05:11
So, it is possible that the easterly
05:12
will affect this area.
05:14
So, you will increase the chances
05:16
of our thunderstorm activity.
05:18
Meanwhile, for Metro Manila,
05:20
the chances of light rains or hailstorms
05:22
brought by Hanging Amihan will help.
05:25
In the areas of Visayas,
05:26
in the cities of Metro Cebu,
05:28
Iloilo City, and Tacloban City,
05:30
starting on Wednesday,
05:31
we expect the winds of Hanging Amihan to rise.
05:33
So, this will have a minor effect
05:34
on the area of Visayas.
05:36
So, for these three days,
05:38
from Wednesday to Friday,
05:40
we expect,
05:41
it is still clear at this time,
05:43
but there is a chance of thunderstorm activity,
05:46
especially in the afternoon until the evening.
05:49
And here in the area of Eastern Visayas,
05:51
particularly in Tacloban City,
05:53
due to the effect of the easterly,
05:56
the chances of rain we expect are high
05:59
from Wednesday to Thursday.
06:02
Here in Mindanao,
06:04
in the areas or cities of Metro Davao,
06:07
Cagayandoro City, and Zamboanga City,
06:10
due to the easterly,
06:11
on Wednesday,
06:12
we will experience clouds
06:14
and scattered rains,
06:16
landslides in the Davao region,
06:18
and landslides here in the western section of Mindanao,
06:20
in a large part of the Zamboanga Peninsula.
06:22
For the rest of Mindanao,
06:24
for the remainder of the forecast period,
06:26
the fair weather conditions will continue,
06:29
except for sudden and quick rains
06:32
caused by localised thunderstorms.
06:35
The sunny weather here in Manila
06:37
will settle by 5.46 p.m.
06:40
and will rise tomorrow until 6.25 a.m.
