00:00At 86 years young, Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lucas is as spry as ever.

00:07Now, if you want to catch him, you'd better be early and you'd better be quick.

00:11I managed to catch him earlier this week to discuss Saratoga and his star filly in the

00:16barn, Secretos.

00:18Well, she looked good this morning, Wayne.

00:21Are you pleased with how she's doing?

00:22I've been real pleased.

00:23It's been a good month.

00:24Actually, it's been two months since the last race, but I'm real pleased with the

00:30way she's progressing and I'm looking forward to Saturday, actually.

00:37And if you could envision any kind of trip for her, a good one, because she's had plenty

00:42of bad ones.

00:43Well, we're trying to duplicate pretty much what we saw in the old stints, and Louis knows

00:49her a little better now and he'll have a better feel for it, so I think that it'll come together.

00:56She's getting better, and I think that with season, it'll be easier for him to put her

01:03where he wants her.

01:05How much fun is it for you to come back here every year with a good string of horses?

01:09Because you've been absent for a while.

01:10Is it nice to be home here?

01:12Yeah, you know, I went through the bout of COVID, so that kind of took care of one year.

01:18And then the other year, I guess, that I wasn't here, I didn't feel like our stable was strong

01:25enough.

01:26I don't like to come up here as successful as we've been over the years, and as good

01:31as this place has been to us, I don't want to come up here and look bad.

01:35So I waited until we got some nice horses, but we've got a pretty solid competitive group

01:41right now.

01:42Is it fair to say you're loaded with two-year-olds?

01:44I've seen some of them out there.

01:46We are anxious to run some of our two-year-olds, but we get some of these two-year-old races

01:53to go.

01:54It's going to be fun.

01:55We've got some nice two-year-olds.

01:56The fillies already have exposed themselves.

01:57We've got a couple of those.

01:58Maybe one or two more.

01:59Tell me a little bit about this handsome chap.

02:00This is a new pony.

02:01We are just breaking him and getting him started.

02:02But he's going to, I think, adapt very well.

02:03He's good-looking.
