You know, certainly, George, the Yankees have been hit with some injuries, but it's really
00:03
fascinating to see that there's still plus 390 on the FanDuel Sportsbook to win the America
00:09
League.
00:10
And then you see the Orioles there at plus 650, Boston plus 800, Texas.
00:15
That's the kind of team that I'm circling right now is Texas at plus 800, Houston 8-1,
00:20
Detroit up and coming 10-1, so is Minnesota, Seattle, Cleveland, and then we know Kansas
00:25
City has the pitching as well.
00:27
So there's one thing that I'd like to add to this conversation, which is what I do.
00:31
It's my yearly talk about some of the favorites in sports from the betting side.
00:37
George, there are teams like Notre Dame, Alabama, the Yankees, you know, when Tom Brady was
00:46
playing with the New England Patriots, you just simply are never going to get a good
00:49
number.
00:50
I mean, the Yankees could lose six players, and it still wouldn't make any difference
00:56
whatsoever for the upcoming season because people love betting on them.
01:01
And so, you know, will there ever be a year where the Yankees will be 15-1 to start the
01:07
season?
01:08
I don't think so, man.
01:09
And it really doesn't matter who the names are, although they don't have any on the back
01:12
of their jersey, I should say, just numbers.
01:13
They're going to change that eventually, too, by the way.
01:15
So yeah, you know, for me, the Yankees' number is never good.
01:20
They're a public team, right?
01:22
So that's just what it is.
01:23
They're a public team, so you're not going to get a good number on them.
01:25
I mean, I think most of us don't think the Yankees will win the division, but there's
01:29
no great team here, but it's a competitive division, right?
01:32
In Boston, we think it should be a good team.
01:34
I know they have pitching injuries of their own they have to worry about here, but they
01:37
should be a good team.
01:38
Toronto, you know, I joked during the break, I can't escape this team.
01:41
I just cannot escape the Toronto Blue Jays, and I look at this roster, and I like the
01:46
roster.
01:47
I think it's a good overall team.
01:48
Okay, maybe not so much, but the good overall team, they'll be there.
01:50
Baltimore, okay, they've got problems in the rotation, but they should be a good team.
01:53
Even a Tampa Bay Rays.
01:54
I mean, playing in, you know, starting around the field, because Tropicana, and they've
01:58
got to redo Tropicana, really?
01:59
Really?
02:00
When I get rid of this bomb of a ballpark here?
02:03
But they should be a decent squad as well.
02:05
They have a very good bullpen here.
02:06
Same thing with Shane Baz, by the way, a player I actually was high on, not doing that well
02:12
this spring.
02:13
But it's going to be a very competitive division.
02:14
I don't think anybody runs away with it.
02:16
So I think it will be close.
02:17
It might come down to whichever team can stay healthy from this point on, and do whichever
02:20
team can make the best moves by the trade deadline.
02:22
But you're never going to get a good number on the Yankees, and that Juneau just went
02:26
over.
02:27
Yeah, they've had some injuries, but they should get Louie Hill back, right?
02:30
I would say around the All-Star break.
02:32
Louie Hill.
02:33
Louie Hill?
02:34
Never heard of him.
02:35
First of the year.
02:36
Never heard of him.
02:37
You're not going to draft him?
02:38
Oh, you didn't draft him?
02:39
But they should get him back.
02:40
Cole's gone.
02:41
They will make additions eventually here.
02:43
I'm, you know, I'm going to be the Yankee fan here.
02:45
I'm hoping your boy, Alcantara, that he ends up a Yankee.
02:49
Spencer Jones, you mentioned him?
02:50
He's yours, Craig.
02:51
Yours!
02:52
I'm sure George Lombard's going to have to be in a deal like that as well for the Yankees.
02:56
But I don't think the Yankees have enough prospects.
02:57
They'll get a better offer from somebody else here.
03:00
But the Yankees will make an addition at some point during the season.
03:02
But hey, I think we can make an argument for it against any of these teams.
03:06
Whoever stays healthy, whoever makes the big move, they'll be the team to beat.
03:09
But you're never going to get the Yankees on a good price here.
03:11
But I don't have the Yankees winning with the division.
03:13
Yeah.
03:14
No.
03:16
So there's no, you know, really direction for me to go other than to talk about the
03:18
actual division here.
03:20
So George, who do you have winning?
03:21
If the Yankees are there, the Orioles, Red Sox, Rays, even though this could be, like
03:26
last year was actually a down season for them for the first time, it feels like in forever
03:30
and they still were competitive.
03:32
But Toronto, I do not like at all.
03:34
I've talked about maybe that being one of my favorite unders of the season and their
03:38
season win total.
03:39
Who do you have winning?
03:40
I tell you one thing, I'm going to do a process of elimination.
03:45
I don't think it'll be Tampa, you know, so I'm going to take them out.
03:48
Baltimore's rotation is just bad.
03:51
So I don't think it'll be them.
03:52
This is so disappointing on the Orioles.
03:53
Man, go for it, man.
03:54
Get new ownership too.
03:55
Go for it.
03:56
You let Burns go.
03:57
You sign nobody else here.
03:59
Grayson Rodriguez is already hurt here, though he's going to start a throwing program.
04:03
Not liking them.
04:04
Boston, it was, if you would ask me this question a week ago on last week's show, it would've
04:07
been Boston.
04:09
Now go with the team you don't like, apparently.
04:10
I'm going to go back to Toronto here.
04:13
Once again, they haven't had the injuries.
04:15
We'll see what happens with Vlad.
04:16
You're taking Toronto?
04:17
Can he have the big year?
04:18
I'm going to take Toronto.
04:19
I'm going to go with Toronto.
04:20
I said I can't escape this team.
04:22
And it's the best price.
04:23
It doesn't leave a lot of room.
04:24
10 to 1 there.
04:25
You're getting 13 to 1 when I took them.
04:28
So I'll take the value on Toronto.
04:29
But I think any of the Toronto, Boston, Yankees, I think any of these teams, and Baltimore
04:34
will be there as well, by the way, but I don't think they'll do it here.
04:37
But any of those teams could win.
04:38
But I think Toronto's going to go all in in what might be the last year for Vlad, Bichette.
04:42
So I think they'll go all in.
