00:00Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays are having a streak that we haven't seen out of them in a long time.
00:05I mean, they have double-digit streak going here after their win again yesterday,
00:08and they get a little fortunate getting the White Sox and getting the A's right before the break here.
00:13They've now won 10 straight games, and they've been somewhere near the middle the last few years, Rob,
00:19like not really having the chance at the trade deadline to make a big move.
00:23As I've been talking about throughout the week, Rob, I think this is going to be,
00:26I mean, Detroit will definitely be super aggressive.
00:28They've got a chance to win the World Series.
00:30They've got to go for it, but I think Toronto is going to be right there with them trying.
00:35Yeah, and when you're looking at the Yankees, looking at the Rays,
00:37these are two teams that are skidding in the same division as the Red Sox and the Blue Jays are emerging,
00:42and so you really can't put a win streak in a better spot in terms of right before the deadline,
00:48you know, 21 days out or so, and when you're also looking at just how they're playing baseball,
00:53just in general, away from, you know, the hierarchy of this division,
00:56and they're playing like the best team in baseball right now,
00:59and a lot of their investments that they've made over the past couple offseasons
01:03are really starting to turn a new, you know, renewed value to them,
01:06and that's really exciting to see, especially if a Toronto fan.
01:10The Toronto Blue Jays, by the way, 90 and a half is their season win total updated,
01:14plus 120 to win the division.
01:16This was like 3 or 4 to 1 just a week ago, plus 750 to win the AL, to win the World Series.
01:22They are certainly in it, 20 to 1.
01:25They're going to need to do a lot more, I think, though, to win that.
01:28Now, as far as the Red Sox go, this is a perplexing team because they've had these
01:32mini streaks over the course of the season.
01:34Win 4 in a row, lose 5 in a row, win 5 in a row, lose 7 in a row.
01:38Hard to figure out.
01:39They're going through their softest part of the schedule, facing the Nationals and the Rockies,
01:43and they're taking care of business against the teams that are in front of them, Rob.
01:47But can they legitimately jump back into this playoff picture?
01:53I think so, and I think it's going to be on the backs of this youthful lineup.
01:57And in large part, when you do have a lot of youthful guys, you're not going to be dealing them.
02:02And so, whereas, you know, a team that's surging up like the Baltimore Orioles, for example,
02:06they may be major sellers here in just a couple weeks.
02:08The Red Sox, on the other hand, are going to be probably staying pat for the most part.
02:12And obviously, Garrett Crochet, their best starting pitcher, he's locked up long term.
02:17And so, I think they're in a good spot where they can just kind of sit on their hands
02:20or maybe do a tentative add, and all of a sudden, this looks like a renewed baseball team
02:25with a better focus post-All-Star trade deadline kind of like lingering in the middle there.
02:31And for that reason, yeah, I'm kind of a little bit of a tentative buyer on the Red Sox at this point.
02:36All right, so let's look at the odds here.
02:38Let's use make the playoffs here, according to the FanDuel Sportsbook.
02:41It is plus 210 for Boston to get in.
02:46Is that a button you would consider clicking moving forward?
02:49Or do you think that there's better options that are 3-1 or even close to where the Red Sox are?
02:55I actually think this is one of the best value bets on the board.
02:58And in large part, because we're already seeing the Rays kind of fall out of the mix here.
03:03And the Yankees are skidding.
03:04Who knows if that's going to, you know, the way we should expect it to go moving forward.
03:08But I think the Red Sox have as much of a claim in terms of the most talent on an individual roster
03:14in that division, even when you are considering all of those teams.
03:18And yeah, a 2-1 payer, almost a 3-1 payer.
03:21I'm all aboard on that.
03:22So, thank you.
