00:23an awful beat uh if you actually bet the dog in that match that is brutal but uh we do have george

00:29kurtz with us uh here from the grid george uh fsd of course saturday mornings as well uh george

00:36great to see you cam's upset uh he had a big tennis dog who uh doesn't seem like he's going to be

00:42uh continuing his match uh after he won the first two sets which is very upsetting uh speaking of

00:48continuing hats george uh the yankees got me and you talked last week how crucial it was going to be

00:54for them especially if they lost that fourth game thursday night at toronto which uh they did uh

01:00that have a big weekend against the bets which i guess you could say george uh they didn't uh they

01:06leave it in worse shape than when they got in and they're not even going to have schmidt for the rest

01:10of the year uh tough scene for the yankees right now george yeah no listen i don't know if it's going

01:17to go away anytime soon all right we were complaining about the offense for a while right

01:21well that offense over over the week was averaging almost six runs a game offense isn't the problem

01:25here all right the pitching staff is falling apart to put it nicely you mentioned schmidt is now out

01:31uh more than likely schlitter is going to uh make a start this week tuesday wednesday we'll see what he

01:35does uh for the yankees here but they've got issues up and down here the bullpen is falling apart

01:40to put it nicely and how you see the schedule for the yankees for the rest of the month of july here

01:46we have seattle then we have the cubs then you have atlanta then you have toronto again in toronto

01:52that really didn't go all that well this week and then you have philadelphia and tampa good luck to

01:58the yankees in july here uh they said the tough times are not ending anytime soon uh they're really

02:06not uh man that is brutal i'm just i'm you're right i'm looking at it now that's brutal now august is a

02:13lot better for them there's a lot of marlins and nationals and white socks and things like that

02:18in the month of august but i think it just comes down to it george they're just not it's not that

02:23good like i think we just have to call it like it is they're just not that great of a team and

02:27they'll still make the playoffs because when they face all those teams in august they'll go on some

02:3215 out of 20 uh you know 20 out of 27 something like that against those bad teams and they'll put

02:40themselves in position to be in a wild card but i don't even think there's a deal they can make

02:44even if it's suara getting out you know they need a legitimate third baseman either way but

02:50i don't even think there's a deal they can make that makes them a legitimate threat to anybody in

02:54the al oh i agree well this is coming into the year we knew it was going to be a problem right as

03:00soon as garrett cole went down like uh-oh all right uh you know what how much can you truly expect

03:05from the yankees here uh then there's louis heel right so he goes your one and three starter you

03:09want to say he was a four fine uh you're one and four uh it's not going to be easy max fried has

03:14been great all right rodon has been for the most part good not so much this uh past week but

03:19for the most part good here but that's about it here i mean right now you're hanging on to

03:24stroman warren and as i like warren as a number five fine but i mean you need to hit the pitch

03:30better now stroman's a at best is a five and fly guy right get three or five innings give up your

03:35three runs have a you know five point whatever era there that's what you're hoping for and the

03:39office is going to have to continue to hit but as you said there they need a third baseman right it

03:43has to and i don't even know that's number one on the priority list anymore they need a bullpen piece

03:47too if not one more they need a starting pitcher now as well there's a lot of holes on this yankee team

03:53and uh there's not gonna be a one trade that's going to fix this they would need to make multiple

03:57deals and if i'm cashman you may have to realize this may not be the year you know just too many

04:01things are going wrong right now you know uh and they'll shop at the discount rack like they did

04:06they picked up this hymer candelario that the reds got rid of you know that's that's the kind of

04:10stuff that the yankees will do they can't find the quarters under the couch uh for anybody else

04:15george how uh busted up do you get about these all-star picks because some people take it to like

04:21uh these levels of oh i can't believe so and so was left off and look do i think that

04:27suzuki from the cubs should be on the all-star team the guy's got 77 rbis at the all-star break i mean

04:34he should probably be on the team but at the end of the day george don't all these guys end up

04:38getting on the team anyway by the end of the week when half the guys uh back out of it or they're too

04:43hurt to play like tatis basically said last night he's not doing the home run there because of his foot

04:48i mean then why would you play in the game too right like it almost see you know you know that

04:53there's going to be guys who are going to back out of this thing all the guys who got skipped will get

04:57in exactly right uh people are who and how about uh valdez forever valdez not making it everybody

05:04who's pitching on sunday is not going to play in the game so they're going to replace those guys so

05:07valdez is oh is almost 1000 getting in the game here and you mentioned it can be other guys who make

05:13up every kind of injury oh you know my little pinky you know little hurts right here i don't think i

05:17can play in the game they're not they'd rather go on vacation hawaii to caribbean whatever you

05:21know get away for four days here so no i do not get all broken up about it you know i'm not saying

05:27i won't bet on the game all right i will but it'll be a small bet just so i watch the damn thing

05:31all right i like the national league this year for whatever it's worth i'll even the home run

05:35derby which i'll have probably heavier bets on that but even that i won't watch unless i have

05:40something else to watch if i know my wife and i are binging a show i'll go an hour into that i'll record it

05:45then watch it at nine o'clock this way i'll have to watch all the garbage that i don't do not care

05:49about the interviews all i want to see is someone hit the ball 550 feet all right hit it over the

05:53chop house that's all i want to see james wood do or cal rally let's hit it as far as we can here

05:57uh that's why i think the home run derby i don't need you to be an all-star by the way i don't care

06:01if you get guys who retired i want to see guys at the ball 600 feet those are the guys i want to see

06:05play in it you know go get chris davis out of retirement see what he could do what's joey gallo doing

06:09right now all right let's see the guys at the ball 900 feet here because aaron judges is going to play in

06:13it uh stanton's not going to play in it so we don't see those guys anyway all right so he must

06:17get guys who can hit the ball as far as possible yeah i love uh betting on it because last year we

06:23had a good winner with teoscar hernandez last year uh in the home run derby so hopefully uh we can get

06:29that again get ourselves a nice juicy price on somebody uh to go and take it home uh the blue jays

06:35have now been the team uh that we you saw them a lot against the yankees last week they backed that up

06:40by beating up the angels all weekend as well and then they play the white socks and the a's

06:45on the road this week heading into the all-star break they have now jumped up to i think it's 19

06:50for the world series i think they're kind of just there with the yankees for the al east

06:54do you believe that toronto will keep this up beyond this streak that they're on

06:58well it could be michael k and say they're not a first place team uh but hey they are a first place

07:03team they're in first place uh as it i don't think anybody in the american league is all that great

07:09i think your top definitely your top two maybe your top three teams are all in the national league

07:13uh i listen i have a ticket on the blue jays to win the east but as cam will tell you by the way i

07:17always have a ticket on the blue jays to win the american league is because they're always that team

07:20that the roster looks great right the pitching staff looks like it's nice and deep but they never

07:24perform mike maybe this is the year they do perform right and they do take it on here the yankees

07:29are all watered down tamper bay is going to play what 900 games in a row on the road coming up after

07:34the break right because uh their homes whatever you want to call that schedule in the first half was

07:38heavy for them playing in the tampa bay area all right so they're in trouble here i don't think

07:42boston's going to stick around baltimore's playing better than now but they're done so this might be

07:47the blue jays year and i was ready to tear that ticket up six weeks coming out this ain't happening

07:52jays aren't winning and now they look like the better team not the best team the better team

07:56i still think the best team in the american league is detroit and they may be pretty far ahead of

08:00everybody else although they're not perfect either you know they could use another starter another

08:04hitter there but uh yeah toronto may be that team maybe this is that year and we know they tried for

08:10otani they tried for soto they have money you know there's a big name out there coming up in three

08:16weeks here at the deadline they'll be in the mix for it you know uh boston's only two and a half games

08:21back in the yankees now in the wild card as well so boston's got themselves back in the race uh before

08:26we go george quickly i thought davy martinez wrote his ticket out of town when he started playing when he

08:31said the coaches had nothing to do with how bad they were playing a few weeks ago and rizzo probably

08:35snuck up before him and that's why he's out i thought the same thing right when he started saying

08:40oh it's not the coach's fault not us you know like uh-oh there's a guy who doesn't want to be there

08:45anymore uh although i'll tell you when i heard that a manager was fired yesterday i assumed it was

08:49snicker of atlanta and then he got swept by baltimore i thought i thought he might be the guy who's on

08:53his way out as well here yeah he he could be next george he ain't too far behind

09:00again swept at home by the orioles uh that was a tough look uh for the braves this weekend they've

09:05had a tough look all year george kurtz uh tremendous job as always for all coast to coast
