00:00The Department of Transportation praised the big change in Manila International Airport after it was privatized.

00:08The government also promised to boost their efforts to maintain the Philippines International Maritime Organization's whitelist.

00:22In spite of the generous funds allocated for several projects of the National Budget 2025,

00:28the Transportation Department promised that the implementation of their projects will not be affected.

00:33According to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista,

00:35they have assurance from their developing partners for their big projects such as North-South Commuter Railway and Metro Manila Subway.

00:43We talked to ADB, JICA, and KECSIM.

00:48With the support of the Department of Budget and Management, which will be issued by SARO,

00:55we will continue to implement the big programs of the Department of Transportation.

01:02In the new program of the Philippines, Bautista shared the achievements of their agency.

01:07Just last year, like the privatization of Manila International Airport,

01:12it will not only be a convenient and good service,

01:15if not for its contribution to the government's earnings in the next period.

01:20Because of our privatization, the government will earn almost P900 billion for the next 25 years.

01:32Meanwhile, in the past, the MIAA only earns P2 to P3 billion a year.

01:40The DOTR also agreed to increase their efforts to maintain the Philippines in the International Maritime Organization's White List

01:47which is important for the economy and marine or seafarers of the country.

01:50At the same time, Secretary Bautista also announced the completion of the LRT-1 extension

01:55which will benefit more passengers.

01:57It will speed up the travel of migrants from Baclaran to Sukat for an hour.

02:02Now, the travel is only 15 minutes.

02:05The traffic in Metro Manila, based on the study of JICA,

02:10the economic cost to us is P3.5 billion a day.

02:16So, with the operation of or the extension of LRT-1,

02:21the economic cost of traffic to us will be reduced.

02:25Meanwhile, in the latest update of the DOTR,

02:28from 83% to 86% was consolidated for the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program.

02:34At the same time, they are doing route rationalization

02:37with LGUs for sustainable and profitable routes where 20% is already completed.

02:43The DOTR plans are also included in the said program in the privatization of EDSA Busway

02:48which is expected to complete the Terms of Reference in the first quarter of the year,

02:52as well as the privatization of Lagindingan and Bohol Airport which will increase the capacity of the surroundings.

02:57Meanwhile, the DOTR expects the construction of MRT-4 will start in 2026

03:02while the North-South Commuter Railway will be completed in 2030.
