00:03approved the reforms and programs implemented by DEPED this year.

00:15Josh, the Department of Education is working hard

00:19to improve the education sector in the country.

00:23In a full report, Education Secretary Sonny Angara said

00:27that despite the large budget of the government,

00:30it approved the reforms and programs implemented by DEPED this year,

00:34just like the free use of Khan Academy,

00:38their DEPED software that can help teachers and students.

00:43Through this, the lesson plan is already in the software

00:46and it just needs to be reviewed by the teachers.

00:48Checking the performance of the students is also automated.

00:52DEPED is also using Artificial Intelligence

00:55to help teachers teach their students.

00:58Currently, DEPED is used in 1,300 public schools in the country.

01:05DEPED continues to review the curriculum.

01:09According to Secretary Angara,

01:11they are looking at what else can be improved

01:14in the implementation of the new curriculum.

01:17In addition to that,

01:18his membership of EDCOG2 helped fill the gaps in the education sector.

01:24Some of the recommendations of EDCOG2

01:26are to review the existing laws related to bullying.

01:29It is also recommended to fill and clarify the new positions

01:33for principals and promote teachers.

01:35DEPED also continues to review the Senior High School Program,

01:39where it was found that less than 1% of students enrolled in sports and arts.

01:45Not all schools in the country offer this track,

01:48and more than 10,000 public high schools in the country

01:51offer Arts and Sports Strand.

01:53There are also no employers who will hire students

01:56who have completed the TechVox in Senior High School.

01:59Moreover, there is no assessment being done

02:01for students enrolled in the TechVox plan.

02:04Currently, there is a fund available

02:06for assessing Senior High School students who have completed the TechVox.

02:11DEPED also reviewed the Senate Bill No. 1979,

02:15or Comprehensive Sex Education,

02:18after some groups announced an alarm

02:20and said that it is not compatible

02:22in the context of our culture.

02:26According to Secretary Angaran,

02:28in the statement of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,

02:31that it should be age-appropriate

02:33to teach sex education to children.

02:37Currently, there is evidence that there is nothing wrong

02:40with this Comprehensive Sex Education,

02:42where it is not compatible

02:44with teaching early childhood masturbation to children.
