00:16President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. is encouraging the Department of Budget and Management to provide sufficient funds for the legacy projects and programs
00:24that are affected by the adjustments or changes in the 2025 General Appropriations Act of the Congress.
00:30If we remember, just this month, President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. ordered the various agencies of the government
00:37to review and discuss the programs or projects that are a priority and ready to be implemented.
00:43Also included are those that need to be revisited for possible savings to be reprogrammed or reprioritized.
00:50According to the DBM, they are ready to mediate the funding deficiencies of the Departments for the fiscal year 2025.
00:57Through the modifications of the allotment, the use of savings to increase deficient items or the use of contingent funds or program appropriations and others.
01:08First, according to the DBM, the available allotments within the budget of the agency can be declared as savings.
01:16Second, the contingent fund can be tapped to cover the funding requirements of new or urgent projects.
01:23And lastly, according to the DBM, the infrastructure programs and social programs under the SAGIP program can be covered by the program appropriations.
