Happy Wednesday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:05
The cold wind or north-east monsoon will continue to blow in the northern and central Luzon,
00:11
while the shoreline will be affected in the southern Luzon and Visayas.
00:16
This is the line where the hot wind comes from the east, also known as the easterly,
00:22
and the cold north-east monsoon or cold wind.
00:24
However, it is expected that in the northern and southern Luzon,
00:28
there will be strong rains that may cause floods or landslides.
00:32
Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:35
we do not see any typhoons or low-pressure areas,
00:38
and we do not expect any new weather disturbances for this year and the coming days.
00:43
For today, it is still expected that in the northern and southern Luzon,
00:48
here in the Bicol Region, the shoreline will be affected by the hot and cold wind,
00:52
and it is also expected that this part of Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon will be affected,
00:58
so bring an umbrella if you are going out of the house,
01:00
and be careful of the strong rains that may cause floods and landslides.
01:06
Here in the northern part, there is still a strong effect of the north-east monsoon or cold wind.
01:12
It is expected that there will be light to moderate rains in the Cagayan Valley,
01:17
Cordillera Administrative Region, and a large part of the central Luzon,
01:20
even parts of Frizal and Laguna.
01:23
So make sure that we have an umbrella,
01:26
and bring a jacket just in case of the cold.
01:29
Here in the Ilocos Region, Metro Manila, and here in Calabarzon,
01:34
there are partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
01:36
and there is a chance that it will rain heavily.
01:38
While in the Mindoro Provinces,
01:40
there are partly cloudy to cloudy skies in the morning,
01:42
but there is a high chance that it will rain,
01:44
especially in Oriental Mindoro, when the sun sets in the afternoon.
01:47
It is expected that the temperature will drop due to the effects of the north-east monsoon and shear line
01:52
over most of Luzon.
01:54
Metro Manila, it is possible that the sun will set in the early morning at 22°C,
01:58
in Tagaytay, the lowest temperature is 21°C,
02:01
and it is colder here in the northern part, in Tuguegarao,
02:04
up to 20°C, and the hottest temperature is 25°C,
02:08
while in the Cordillera Region, between 14°C to 15°C is the coldest temperature.
02:14
To our countrymen in Visayas and Palawan,
02:17
it is expected that it will rain heavily today
02:19
due to the effects of the shear line,
02:22
or the heat and cold wind,
02:24
where there is a high chance of rain.
02:27
In Eastern Visayas,
02:29
where it is facing the Pacific Ocean,
02:31
there are moderate to heavy rains,
02:33
or up to 100 mm of rain,
02:35
beware of possible floods and landslides.
02:38
And as early as this morning,
02:40
there are also areas where there will be heavy rains,
02:41
especially in the southern part of Visayas,
02:44
the Negros Island Region,
02:46
including Siquijor, Southern Cebu, and Southern Bohol.
02:49
And the rains will continue
02:51
for the next few days,
02:53
especially in the areas of Panay Island.
02:55
The temperature in a large part of Visayas,
02:57
from 24°C to 30°C,
02:59
while in Palawan, from 23°C to 31°C.
03:03
And to our countrymen in Mindanao,
03:06
there are also areas affected by the shear line,
03:08
as early as this morning,
03:09
including a large part of Zamboanga Peninsula,
03:12
this is also a part of Misamis Occidental,
03:15
Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur,
03:17
as well as Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.
03:20
But the rains will sustain
03:22
in Dinagat Islands
03:24
because of the shear line.
03:26
In the remaining part of Mindanao,
03:28
there are areas where the sky is cloudy
03:30
from dawn to dusk,
03:32
and then from dusk to night,
03:34
the weather is often gloomy
03:36
and there is also a chance
03:37
that there will be heavy rains
03:39
or just a slight snowfall.
03:41
The temperature here in Metro Davao
03:43
is from 24°C to 32°C.
03:46
As of now, our gale warning
03:48
is only concentrated in Calaguas Islands
03:50
and Hilagang Baybayin in Catanduanes,
03:53
where the waves are still up to 4.5 meters
03:55
from morning to afternoon.
03:57
But when the afternoon comes,
03:59
a possible portion will come down
04:01
and our gale warning will be removed
04:03
in the areas that we mentioned.
04:05
However, today and in the coming days,
04:07
the waves will be high
04:09
in Hilagang Baybayin, Luzon,
04:11
and Silangang Baybayin, Luzon, and Visayas.
04:13
It will also have a strong effect
04:15
on the Northeast Monsoon
04:17
up to 3.5 meters
04:19
or it will still be on one floor of the house
04:21
so it is still dangerous for small sea vessels
04:23
until the weekend.
04:25
While the waves are still here in Luzon, Visayas,
04:27
and Malaking Baybayin, Mindanao,
04:29
the waves are up to 2.5 meters
04:31
when there are thunderstorms.
04:35
And for our three-day weather forecast,
04:37
from tomorrow until Saturday,
04:39
strong rains will continue
04:41
in a large part of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
04:44
It will still have an effect on the shoreline
04:46
or the hot and cold winds,
04:48
especially in the Bicol region
04:50
and Eastern Visayas.
04:52
Where we have an increased weather advisory
04:54
for the next three days,
04:56
it is concentrated in the eastern part of our country.
04:59
Expect moderate or heavy rains.
05:01
By tomorrow or up to 100 millimeters
05:03
in the Bicol region,
05:05
especially in the Camarines Sur,
05:07
Albay, Sosogon, and Catanduanes
05:09
and Northern Samar,
05:11
Samar, and Eastern Samar.
05:14
Then when it comes to Friday,
05:16
that's January 10,
05:18
expect moderate or heavy rains
05:20
in Albay, Sosogon,
05:22
Samar, and Eastern Samar
05:24
while it is possible to reach
05:26
up to 200 millimeters
05:28
in the Bicol region.
05:29
Again, this is because of the shoreline
05:31
which is typical
05:33
when the Northeast Monsoon
05:35
is strong at this time.
05:37
It is possible that this will change
05:39
and there will be more moderate
05:41
to heavy or even at times intense
05:43
rains in the Bicol region,
05:45
Eastern Visayas, Caraga region,
05:47
and some parts of Calabarzon.
05:49
So always stay tuned
05:51
to our updates.
05:53
Be careful of possible floods
05:55
and landslides,
05:57
especially here in the areas
05:59
of Samar
06:01
and Southern Bicol region.
06:03
For our today's weather forecast,
06:05
the strong Northeast Monsoon
06:07
will continue to affect
06:09
the remaining areas of Luzon
06:11
especially in Cagayan Valley,
06:13
Cordillera region,
06:15
Aurora, and nearby areas
06:17
like Calabarzon and Central Luzon
06:19
with light to moderate rains
06:21
while the remaining areas
06:23
of Luzon and Metro Manila
06:25
are expected to be flooded
06:27
with isolated light rains.
06:29
For tomorrow,
06:31
our countrymen who will travel
06:33
to the whole of Sareno
06:35
are expected to see mostly cloudy skies
06:37
with a chance of moderate to moderate rains.
06:39
While here in the majority of Mindanao
06:41
are expected to see isolated thunderstorms.
06:43
Usually, this will last for 1 to 2 hours
06:45
and this is because of the easterly
06:47
or the hot winds
06:49
from the east.
06:51
Our sunrise is 623 in the morning
06:53
and the sunset is 542 in the afternoon.
06:56
That is the latest from
06:57
the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
06:59
I am again Benison Estareja.
07:01
Take care.
