Benison, Estareja, is a rainy Monday for all of us.
00:06
It continues to rain in a large part of the country because of the different weather systems.
00:11
The first one is that of the Amihan or Northeast Monsoon in a large part of the Northern and Central Luzon.
00:17
The shearline or the line where the Northeast Monsoon and the hot Easter Leaves meet
00:23
also rains in some parts of the Central and Southern Luzon.
00:26
While in the rest of the country, there is still the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ line
00:33
that meets the North, the wind from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres
00:38
even though the chance of rain is high especially in the Eastern Visayas and around Sulusi.
00:43
But based on our latest satellite animation,
00:46
we do not see any low-pressure area or typhoon that can affect our country
00:50
until the next days or until the first days of 2025.
00:56
Rainfall is expected in a large part of the Luzon due to the effect of the shearline and the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
01:03
This includes the mainland of Cagayan, as well as Isabela,
01:06
below Aurora, Quezon, especially here in the areas of Laguna and Rizal,
01:12
a large part of the Bicol Region, and also here in a large part of Mimaropa.
01:16
Rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to be strong
01:20
that can cause floods and landslides.
01:22
And because the land is saturated,
01:25
there is a high chance of landslides in the areas of Quezon and Bicol Region.
01:30
Meanwhile, the Amiha or Northeast Monsoon
01:33
is still there in the Northern Luzon,
01:35
raining on the remaining part of Cagayan Valley,
01:38
as well as Cordillera Administrative Region,
01:40
light to moderate rains,
01:42
while here in the Ilocos Region and the remaining part of Central Luzon,
01:46
partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
01:48
and is accompanied by heavy rain.
01:49
For Metro Manila, Cavite, and Batangas,
01:52
there will be rain as early as this morning until later this afternoon,
01:55
but by the afternoon,
01:57
partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
01:59
and there is a chance of heavy rain or thunderstorms.
02:02
In Metro Manila, the temperature is from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius,
02:07
while it is still cold here in Baguio City,
02:09
from 17 to 23 degrees Celsius.
02:13
For our fellowmen here in Palawan,
02:15
where the heavy rains are still frequent,
02:17
especially in the central and southern portions,
02:20
that is the effect of the ITCZ,
02:22
so we don't have a storm right now.
02:24
For a large part of Visayas,
02:26
we also have the heaviest rains in Negros Oriental,
02:29
as well as Siquijor,
02:31
and a large part of Eastern Visayas,
02:33
that is also the result of the ITCZ,
02:35
or Intertropical Convergence Zone,
02:37
and the rest of Visayas,
02:39
mostly cloudy skies,
02:41
and there are also rains that are not continuous,
02:43
but sometimes are heavy,
02:45
when it comes to the afternoon and afternoon.
02:47
Here in Cebu, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:51
And for our fellowmen in Mindanao,
02:53
there are also rains as early as this morning,
02:55
in Zamboanga Peninsula,
02:57
as well as Visamis Occidental,
02:59
Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur,
03:01
a large part of Carraga Region,
03:03
as well as Davao Oriental,
03:05
and the heaviest, possibly up to 100 millimeters,
03:07
in Zamboanga del Norte,
03:09
as well as Dinagat Islands,
03:11
our rains there are still due to the ITCZ.
03:14
And for the rest of Mindanao,
03:15
mostly cloudy to cloudy skies,
03:17
morning to afternoon,
03:19
but when it comes to afternoon to night,
03:21
thunderstorms will also be expected,
03:23
so make sure to bring an umbrella,
03:25
most of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
03:29
In Metro Davao,
03:31
the temperature is from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:34
Still due to the rainstorm in Northern Luzon,
03:37
we still expect a gale warning,
03:39
or high waves up to 4.5 meters.
03:42
As far as Batanes,
03:44
as far as Baboyan Islands,
03:46
Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur,
03:48
down to Northern La Union,
03:50
up to Isabela,
03:52
the northern part of Aurora,
03:54
and the northern and eastern coast of Polilio Islands.
03:56
The waves there are at one and a half times the level of Gusali,
04:00
so it is still dangerous for small sea vessels,
04:03
especially for our fellow countrymen
04:05
who are still going home
04:07
to their provinces here in Polilio Islands,
04:09
as well as extreme northern Luzon.
04:11
In the coming days,
04:13
the waves will be weaker,
04:15
but the waves will still be up to 3 to 3.5 meters
04:18
in the big cities of Northern Luzon.
04:21
And for our 4-day weather forecast,
04:24
we expect for the new year to welcome,
04:27
that's Tuesday and Wednesday,
04:29
there will still be rainstorms in a large part of the country
04:31
due to the Northeast Monsoon,
04:33
shearline, and ITCZ.
04:35
We still have the effect of a gale
04:37
in a large part of Northern Luzon,
04:38
so we still expect for a mild to moderate rain
04:42
in the Cordillera and Cagayan Valleys,
04:44
while we still expect for scattered rainstorms
04:47
here in Cagayan, Isabela, and Quirino.
04:51
Also in Aurora, a large part of Southern Luzon,
04:54
Visayas, Carraga Region, Zamboanga Peninsula,
04:57
and the nearby places here in the western
05:00
and eastern sections of Mindanao.
05:02
In fact, we still have a weather advisory
05:05
for the next 3 days.
05:06
We expect for moderate to heavy rainstorms
05:10
up to 100 mm by tomorrow
05:12
in Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte,
05:16
until the moderate to heavy rains
05:18
reach the first day of 2025 in Albay,
05:21
just like in Sosogon,
05:23
Northern Samar, Eastern Samar,
05:25
Leyte, Southern Leyte,
05:27
Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.
05:30
While the remaining part of our country
05:32
here in the rest of Visayas,
05:34
Northern portion of Mindanao,
05:36
Visayas, and Luzon,
05:38
there is a high chance of heavy rainstorms
05:40
and thunderstorms.
05:42
Be careful of floods and landslides.
05:45
For January 2 and 3,
05:47
that's Thursday and Friday,
05:49
there will still be heavy rainstorms
05:51
in some parts of Luzon
05:53
because the cloudiness will go up here.
05:55
There is the effect of shear line
05:57
plus the Northeast monsoon
05:59
in the remaining part of Northern Luzon.
06:01
We expect for heavy rainstorms and thunderstorms
06:03
over most of Ilocos Region,
06:04
Sierra Region, Cagayan Valley,
06:06
Pababa ng Aurora, Quezon,
06:08
Camarines Norte, and the nearby areas
06:10
in Bicol Region and Calabar Zone.
06:12
Be careful of floods and landslides
06:14
and make sure that you have a umbrella.
06:16
While Metro Manila
06:18
and the remaining part of Luzon,
06:20
Visayas, and Mindanao
06:22
still have high chances of heavy rainstorms
06:24
or thunderstorms
06:26
and parts of cloudy skies
06:28
where the weather is sometimes gloomy.
