Good morning to all of you. It's already midweek and the time is now August 14, 2024.
00:07
We are live from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:11
In our latest satellite images, we do not have a typhoon that is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:17
Although we have a typhoon outside, this is the Severe Tropical Storm Amphil,
00:22
which is almost 2,000 kilometers east-northeast, extreme northern Luzon.
00:26
The name Amphil comes from Sampaloc, a province in Cambodia.
00:31
It is not directly affected by our country.
00:33
It does not produce strong winds.
00:35
The Severe Tropical Storm Amphil is heading towards the northern part of Japan.
00:41
Amphil is an international name.
00:43
As of now, the Southwest Monsoon is particularly affected by the northern and central Luzon.
00:51
It will bring cloudy skies with a higher chance of rain.
00:55
Particularly in the Ilocos Region and the Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
01:02
We expect that the Southwest Monsoon will still be affected by the next few days until Friday,
01:07
particularly in the Ilocos Region and the extreme northern Luzon.
01:10
Meanwhile, in the southern part of our country, in Manila, and here in Visayas, Mindanao,
01:15
and the southern part of Luzon, we will continue to experience generally fair weather.
01:19
As you can see, there is not much cloudiness here in Visayas and Mindanao.
01:24
Generally, we are experiencing fair weather.
01:26
Aside from that, it is still possible to experience early morning rain showers,
01:29
as well as thunderstorms from afternoon to night,
01:33
which can last for one to two hours.
01:36
As we can see, based on our latest data,
01:38
there is still a small chance of thunderstorms until the end of this week.
01:43
So, let's just expect localized thunderstorms from afternoon to night.
01:47
That's why it's better to bring an umbrella in case of rain.
01:50
Meanwhile, here in Luzon, we expect that it will be sunny.
01:54
There is a high chance of rain showers in the Ilocos Region and the Batanes
01:58
and the Babuyan Islands, as well as the Southwest Monsoon.
02:01
Meanwhile, in the southern part of Luzon, there is still a small chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon,
02:04
while there is a high chance of rain showers in the afternoon until night,
02:07
as well as localized thunderstorms.
02:09
The temperature in Lawag is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:13
In Baguio, it is 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.
02:15
Meanwhile, in Togogarang, it is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:18
In Manila, it is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:22
For our motorcade later, for our Olympians,
02:25
it is possible that there will be localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.
02:29
In Tagaytay, it is 23 to 30 degrees Celsius,
02:32
while in Legazpi, it is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:35
Here we are in Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.
02:38
In the Palawan area, we also expect isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
02:43
The temperature in Kalayaan Islands is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:47
In Puerto Princesa, it is also 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:52
In Cabizayaan, we expect isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
02:57
The temperature in Iloilo is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:00
In Cebu, it is up to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:02
Meanwhile, in Tacloban, it is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:06
A large portion of Mindanao will still experience hot weather in the afternoon
03:11
while there is a high chance of rain in the afternoon until nightfall.
03:15
The temperature in Zamboanga City is 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:19
In Cagandeoro, it is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius,
03:22
while in Davao, it is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:26
Although it is generally fair weather,
03:28
it is still possible for isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon until nightfall.
03:33
As of now, we do not have a high-level gale warning
03:36
that is why it is better to stay away from sea vehicles and small boats in our country.
03:41
Although we continue to give warnings,
03:43
if there are severe thunderstorms, the waves of the sea can sometimes rise.
03:48
That is why it is better to be careful, especially with small boats.
