Happy Friday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:04
The heavy rain or southwest monsoon continues in a large part of Luzon plus western Visayas.
00:11
So expect rain, especially here in the western sections.
00:14
Meanwhile, based on our latest satellite animation,
00:18
we can no longer see any weather disturbance,
00:20
storm or low-pressure area inside and around the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:25
even though there are still clouds or cloud clusters
00:28
that are part of the tropical cyclone or severe tropical storm
00:35
with international name Maria,
00:37
which is far from our land and is no longer affecting our country.
00:42
For today, we still expect cloudy skies and rainy weather
00:46
here in the western section of Luzon as part of the Ilocos Region,
00:49
Zambales and Bataan due to the low tide.
00:53
The nature of the rain there is very weak until just right amount of rain
00:57
and sometimes it gets stronger in the afternoon and night.
01:00
So be careful of possible floods and landslides
01:03
and always follow our advisories and worst case, heavy rainfall warnings.
01:08
Meanwhile, in the remaining part of Luzon,
01:10
there are also rains of southwest monsoon.
01:13
We have heavy rains in Batanes, Babuyan Islands,
01:17
here in a large part of the Cordillera Region,
01:19
especially in Abra and Benguet,
01:21
Central Luzon, especially here in Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan,
01:26
Metro Manila, we expect heavy rains,
01:29
Calabarzon, Batangas and Cavite,
01:33
and here in Occidental Mindoro,
01:35
we expect occasional rains.
01:38
There are times when it stops, especially in the late morning to afternoon,
01:42
but the rains will return in the afternoon until the early morning.
01:46
So make sure that you have an umbrella when you go out of your house.
01:50
Meanwhile, in the remaining part of Luzon,
01:51
here in Cagayan Valley, Eastern Sides of Bicol Region,
01:55
plus Quezon,
01:56
expect parts of cloudy to cloudy skies
01:59
and there is also a high chance of heavy rains
02:01
when the afternoon and night comes.
02:04
Our temperature in Metro Manila is from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius,
02:08
while in Baguio, it is still cold from 18 to 22 degrees Celsius.
02:13
For our countrymen here in Palawan,
02:15
mostly cloudy skies throughout the day
02:18
because it is in the Southwest Monsoon,
02:20
and there are occasional light to moderate rains,
02:22
especially in the afternoon.
02:24
While here in Western Visayas,
02:26
expect occasional rains,
02:28
occasional light to moderate rains,
02:30
within the next 24 hours.
02:32
And here in the remaining part,
02:34
expect parts of cloudy to cloudy skies
02:37
that are accompanied by occasional rains
02:39
and occasional lightning and thunderstorms
02:41
that last for 2 to 3 hours.
02:44
Our temperature in Metro Cebu is 33 degrees Celsius,
02:48
and in Palawan, it is up to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:51
Meanwhile, for our countrymen in Mindanao,
02:53
it is still early in the morning.
02:55
Expect rains here in Zamboanga Peninsula
02:58
and here in the provinces of Basilan, Solu, Tawi-Tawi,
03:02
up to the provinces facing the Morogulf
03:05
starting here in Milanao del Norte,
03:07
all the way to Zanganit Province.
03:09
Expect rains.
03:11
Although it will not continue,
03:13
it will continue, especially this morning,
03:15
until the afternoon and late evening.
03:18
For our countrymen in the remaining part of Mindanao,
03:21
expect parts of cloudy skies,
03:23
and mostly sunny skies,
03:24
especially in the areas of Davao Region,
03:26
Northern Mindanao, and Caraga Region.
03:28
It will still be hot,
03:29
especially in the areas of Butuan, Davao City,
03:32
and here in Cotabato and Jensan.
03:34
Expect heavy rains or lightning and thunderstorms
03:38
that will not last long.
03:41
Meanwhile, for the next three days,
03:43
starting tomorrow until early next week,
03:46
expect the effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Havaga.
03:49
Over the weekend,
03:50
we did not miss the chance
03:52
that there will be a new low-pressure area
03:54
here in the North Philippine Sea
03:56
that will be triggered by the Southwest Monsoon.
03:59
It will still bring rains,
04:01
especially in the western sections,
04:03
including Batanes, Babuyan Islands,
04:05
up to Ilocos Region,
04:07
Bataan, Zambales,
04:09
up to Batangas, Cavite,
04:11
Metro Manila,
04:12
where there is a high chance of rain,
04:13
especially tomorrow,
04:14
up to Palawan,
04:16
Occidental Mindoro,
04:17
and Western Visayas.
04:18
Those are the areas that will not be affected
04:20
by occasional rains.
04:21
And the remaining part of our country
04:23
is part of cloudy skies,
04:24
until the skies are still cloudy.
04:26
Over the weekend,
04:27
there is a high chance
04:29
of heavy rains or lightning and thunderstorms.
04:32
So make sure to bring an umbrella.
