00:16Good evening, Director Joel.
00:18Good evening. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to hear you.
00:25Anyway, we have an ongoing meeting with the Emergency Operations Center
00:33with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
00:38We are preparing for worst-case scenarios.
00:42But when it comes to Calaon, there are more affected by Region 6 or Negros Occidental.
00:52In Negros Oriental and Calaon City.
00:55In Calaon City, I heard that classes were cancelled.
00:58In Calaon City, classes were also cancelled, at least for tomorrow.
01:02And then they will take it one day at a time.
01:05We also talked to the mayor of Calaon City.
01:08They are preparing also for the worst and evacuating their residents.
01:17Director Joel, based on the information gathered that we have,
01:20about 87,000 individuals need to be evacuated.
01:24Right now, sir, what is the update on our evacuees?
01:26How many are evacuated right now?
01:29Right now, sir, we are still collating the data from Region 6.
01:35However, in Region 7, there are less than 1,000 individuals.
01:42We are actually preparing for a bigger one, Alert Number 3,
01:50because we will be evacuating those residents residing inside 4 to 6 kilometers away from the crater.
02:03Right now, they are still evacuating.
02:06I spoke with the mayor.
02:08They have evacuated already about 500, I think.
02:14And then some are in the evacuation centers.
02:18Some went to their families outside of the permanent danger zones.
02:24And then some are still being evacuated.
02:30Yes, Director Joel, in case this situation worsens or drags for a few days,
02:35what is our plan of action in case that happens, sir?
02:39Yes, we are right now. Evacuation will still continue.
02:44And then we are also preparing as OCD, we are also preparing worst-case scenario food packs
02:52and also water filtration systems for our residents who will be affected.
02:59Yes, we have also contacted the military, the army, to help us with evacuation.
03:08All right, Director Joel.
03:10Lastly, what advice and reminders would you like to give our public,
03:13especially those living near the Calaon Volcano in the area?
03:17Oh, yes. Thank you very much for this opportunity.
03:21We would like to call on them to please listen to the authorities
03:27when they are asking you to evacuate.
03:31Please help us help you.
03:33Those who are living inside the six-kilometer radius,
03:39even if you are not experiencing ashfall,
03:48that the winds may change and you might get affected,
03:53might as well evacuate and go to a safer area.
03:58We are, from the national agency, we are also preparing to help you.
04:04So, we're asking you, we're asking everybody to help us help yourself or help you.
