00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. instructed the Department of Health, or DOH, to promote

00:05healthier food choices as part of a unified government effort to address malnutrition

00:11and stunting.

00:12The chief executive emphasized the need to educate people in eating healthier foods.

00:18He also wants the agency to focus on the 34 priority areas of the Philippine Plan for

00:24Action for Nutrition, or PPAN, with the highest rates of stunting and malnutrition.

00:31Additionally, President Marcos, Jr. directed the DOH and other relevant government agencies

00:38to strengthen efforts through the National Nutrition Council, or NNC, in addressing the

00:44country's triple burden of malnutrition, which refers to undernutrition, micronutrient

00:51deficiency, and overnutrition.
