00:00Health is wealth, and it is the president's personal belief and his administration's policy

00:05to maintain a healthful citizenry that can think well and in full control of their motor

00:09skills and body movements.

00:12And one can only have a good-thinking mind if he, she, properly nourished and healthy.

00:17Hence, in the president's working agenda, there is a clear objective to wage war against

00:22malnutrition and its horrible and lethal effects to include stunting or stunted growth.

00:27In particular, the president highlighted the first thousand days from an infant to

00:31a toddler as a critical phase in the growth and development of a person.

00:36This in response to results of a study showing three of ten under the age of five suffer

00:40from malnutrition, often rooted in that crucial phase from birth or infancy to the toddler

00:45stage.

00:46Hence, the president's directed the National Nutrition Council to distribute free nutritious

00:51food, vitamins and vaccines, and provide health checkups to mothers and children.

00:56The emphasis should be on the first 1,000 days, which involves a pregnant mother, yung

01:05fetus palang ay nasa loob ng sapupunan, that they'll be given micronutrients, mainly iron,

01:14folic acid, and then the tetanus and diphtheria vaccine.

01:19And then, pag napanganak na yan, dapat mabigyan ng mandatory initiation of breastfeeding.

01:25The problem is not the bansot.

01:27The problem is the low cognitive ability, mahina yung utak because the brain development

01:32happens in the first 1,000 days.
